February 1st was National Freedom Day. It commemorates Lincoln’s signing of the House and Senate resolution that later became the 13thAmendment. Lincoln signed the Amendment outlawing slavery on February 1, 1865.

Short of another Civil War, Americans have reached a point verging on the loss of their Constitutional freedoms as ever before. The issue then was slavery, but Americans are rapidly moving toward having their Bill of Rights annulled by a President intent on ruling as a despot, making them slaves of a regime that rules as he wishes, ignoring the Constitution and Congress.

His actions have been supported by the Democratic members of Congress and because Republicans only control the House they have seen their legislative efforts to oppose the regime blocked, often by one man, Harry Reid, the Senate Majority Leader. The nation’s media with few exceptions have supported or ignored the President’s actions.

Why is this happening? A brief review of the means put forth in Saul Alinski’s “Rules for Radicals”, written by a “community organizer”, outlines what Obama is doing as he seeks to turn America into a socialist state. It is a process that progressives/liberals have been pursuing since early in the last century.

1) Healthcare – Control healthcare and you control the people.

2) Poverty – Increase the poverty level as high as possible, poor people are easier to control and will not fight back if you are providing everything for them to live.

 3) Debt – Increase the debt to an unsustainable level. That way you are able to increase taxes, and this will produce more poverty.

4) Gun Control – Remove the ability to defend themselves from the Government. That way you are able to create a police state.

5) Welfare – Take control of every aspect of their lives (Food, Housing, and Income).

6) Education – Take control of what people read and listen to – take control of what children learn in school.

7) Religion – Remove the belief in God from the Government and schools.

8) Class Warfare – Divide the people into the wealthy and the poor. This will cause more discontent and it will be easier to take (tax) the wealthy with the support of the poor.

We are close to having everything we write and say known to the regime. As Andrew Napolitano asks, “What if the government spies on all of us all the time and recognizes no limits to its spying? What if its appetite for acquiring personal knowledge about all Americans is insatiable? What if the government uses the microchips in our cellphones to follow us and listen to us as we move about?”

And what if Congress, as World Net Daily’s Bob Unruh has written, has empowered the President to “arrest, kidnap, detain without trial and hold indefinitely American citizens thought to ‘represent an enduring security threat to the United States.’” That’s what the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) does!

“Some of the nation’s most respected legal teams are asking the Supreme Court to take up a challenge to the indefinite-detention provisions” of the Act “charging that the law has created the framework for a police state.” That’s how far along we are toward the destruction of the U.S. Constitution.

“The 2014 NDAA was fast-tracked through the U.S. Senate, with no time for discussion or amendments, while most Americans were distracted by the scandal surrounding A&E’s troubles with ‘Duck Dynasty’ star Phil Robertson. Eighty-five of 100 senators voted in favor of the new version of the NDAA, which had already been quietly passed by the House of Representatives.”

Ostensibly a law to address terrorists, the NDAA is a blueprint for a nation in which its citizens have none of the rights spelled out in the Bill of Rights. All it will take is the declaration of martial law or a national emergency.

Sen. Ted Cruz, a leading opponent of Obamacare, writing in The Wall Street Journal, said, “Of all the troubling aspects of the Obama presidency, none is more dangerous than the President’s persistent pattern of lawlessness, his willingness to disregard the written law and instead enforce his own policies via executive fiat…the President’s taste for unilateral action to circumvent Congress should concern every citizen, regardless of party or ideology.”

Americans will soon have little recourse against a government intent on controlling every aspect of their lives, spying on them, and arresting them for criticizing it.

A May 16 march on Washington may cause the White House and the Congress to pause in its attacks on our freedom and liberty. One can only hope that millions participate.

Americans fought a war to end slavery. Will we have to fight to resist becoming slaves?

  • Thank you for the above posting and starting this line of discussion. I just sent an email to a friend who is thinking about signing up with PFA. I sent him the following and thought it might fit in here nicely. It more or less sums up my thoughts in a couple of paragraphs. Here it is:

Never made  it  to DC for a Tea Party rally. Did go to Pittsburgh, Butler,

    Kittanning and Greensburg though.

Like you, I believe in going out  fighting. It is time to make a stand by

standing up for what  is right. These politicians have no concept of what

is going  on in this country right now. 90% of  them  are  focused  on what

they can bleed  from the system and us. Not many of them give a crap

about the Constitution. Makes me sick.

I have three ancestors that I  know of  that fought in the Revolutionary

War. All documented. They were willing to make the sacrifice, how can

I let them down and not give my grandkids a reasonable chance to at least

live in a free Republic under Constitutional law and not the dictates of a lawless

regime with dictatorial powers along with a Congress that will not challenge

him or his  party even when ambassadors are murdered and the tax collectors

single out certain citizens for their political  stand. This “Messiah” and his

circle of radical  leftists should be tried for high crimes if not treason. War

was declared on Muslim terrorists and so it is treason to sell or give weapons

to  them and that is what the regime is doing in the middle east. This bozo

in the White House is NOT a “natural born citizen” therefore he is in the

office illegally. And therefore everything he signs is illegal.  As I said,

“High Crimes and misdemeanors.”  End rant.

    Will keep you posted.

  • I saw this today, and was shocked at just how brainwashed the youth are becoming today. This shows the liberal education system at work, and how they have our kids ready to throw away our rights.

  • Since Obama rec'd nearly 58 million votes in the 2012 election, how can we expect him to realistically step aside even if we get one million people to stay for phase 2?

  • I did not plan the two to coincide, OAS and reading A GOVERNMENT OF WOLVES: The emerging Americann Police State by John W. Whitehead, an attorney who does a lot of work with Constitutional Law so he is certainly knowledgeable.   The book is pretty scary, depressing, sad, etc. because he provides a very detailed, verifiable picture of where we are today as a country.   He talks about all the latest weaponry available for stuff like crowd control.    Since they (the traitors) passed the law that says we aren't allowed to get any closer than a football field to "dignitaries and our representatives (lol - is there anyone out there who really believes they are working FOR WE, THE PEOPLE?   Anyway since passage of the law that keeps us separate AND UNHEARD its another assault on our freedom of speech and freedom to address our grievances.   By denying our voice they also (and probably like the idea) that sooner or later someone will DO something and then they can really crack heads because someone got so frustrated, someone whose life felt totally destroyed.

Anyway the book I mentioned, if I may say,  should be if not required reading but suggested reading for any one of us whether working on the frontline or behind the scenes.    While I'm pretty cynical by now, I must say it alarmed me reading about all the new "non-lethal" tools at their disposal - a sound device that can rip your eardrums out (not literally but I understand it is anything but benign - you just cant see the blood) - then they have a laser light thing that can disorient you and make it impossible to walk - nausea and vomiting - AWESOME they can mount then on a vehicle and put everyone down at once and not one drop of blood.

He makes the point that the "no blood" thing is a bonus for them.  Because they don't want us getting riled up and/or "uppity" (depending your point of view) and staging a protest, demanding they stop inflicting pain and suffering for people who haven't even committed a crime but just want to be heard.   The thing is they can control us but IF by chance the media were to actually show up and video tape anything, there's no blood to turn people off and make them angry enough to revolt.

The entire book is fascinating at the same time it is sad.    Near the end of the book he has a listing of 9 things that successful protestors must keep in mind and I will comment more about that later but his comments appeared to be salient/on-target.

He quotes at the end, Professor Erich Fromm and I'd like to repost here.  its about the definition of what makes up a "free" person.

"If a man can only obey, and not disobey he is a slave."

And that really struck me because going on as we are that is exactly what we have become.    We work for the government not vice versa and we have no rights so if we ask questions we are outta line.

I think it would make a good conversation opener to get the ball rolling - to discuss our current state or lack of freedom - with the deniers.   So I'm going to remember that and anytime I find someone who seems "clueless" - we gonna talk hopefully.

I suggest bringing this definition up when you are with a denier - ask him if he can resist or is he afraid to?

He makes a point in the book of showing how the encroachment on our freedom really escalated after Columbine high School and 9/11 - Twin Towers in New York    We were shocked at the violence and they took advantage of it and use it as a reason for infringing on our freedom (so we can feel safe/secure again).

The governments encroaching on our freedom and carving away at our rights and the Constitution - have been mostly gradual - and it is the silence of the masses who don't know or are too afraid to stand out and say WAIT A MINUTE -- that's really keeping us down.   I know in the "old days" when I grew up, the people would not have tolerated the things we see happening to us, and not just to us but others like our children and veterans.

But his message is NEVER SURRENDER, which is where we are.

I'm glad (and grateful) for your post and information as its constantly on my mind  -  the cause and everyone working toward it.

The author says that it is in EACH OF US individually standing up - daring to speak up and not follow the PC crowd, each of us doing what needs to be done even if it causes us to fear for our safety, it is in each of us that America's strength lies.

Hopefully the longer OAS perseveres people will read something somewhere that jars them awake.   Of course some of us have been awake (and near sleepless sometimes being preoccupied with discovering a way out of this).

Dr. Martin Luther King says you need annoying gadflys, people who are not armed and are peaceful but who commit civil disobedience, invoking the attention and ire of "them" - we must be a persistent thorn in their side so they cannot ignore us.   And it makes sense to me.  They are perfectly happy and smug ignoring us so we must do something (you remember sit-ins) to get undertheir skin time and again, to send the message WE AIN'T GONNA TAKE THIS ANYMORE.
