This article is a statement of the facts, and is not meant to, or intended to, be interpreted as a political endorsement, or lack thereof, of any political candidate. Family Security Matters takes no political point of view whatsoever.
On April 26, 2016 Breitbart published Brent Bozell's open letter asking Sarah Palin, Ben Carson, Mike Huckabee, Phyllis Schlafly and other conservatives to withdraw their endorsements of Donald Trump.
Mr. Bozell, you ask "Does Donald Trump mean a word he says?"
Well, Mr. Bozell, we already know that the Republican Party doesn't mean a word that it says.
For example, prior to the 2014 mid-term elections, Reince Priebus, the chairman of the Republican National Committee, speaking about Barack Obama's executive amnesty, said: "We will do everything we can to make sure it doesn't happen: Defunding, going to court, injunction. You name it. It's wrong. It's illegal. And for so many reasons, and just the basic fabric of this country, we can't allow it to happen and we won't let it happen. I don't know how to be any stronger than that. I'm telling you, everything we can do to stop it we will."
After the 2014 election, when voters gave his party control of Congress, the Republicans "rewarded" their constituents by enthusiastically facilitating the funding and implementation of Obama's "illegal" executive amnesty.
According an article in the left-wing outlet Politico and reported by Breitbart, Republican House Speaker John Boehner held secret negotiations with Democrat Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, leading up to his decision to flip-flop and fund Obama's executive amnesty; including a pre-hashed out deal to use the hoopla around Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's March 3, 2015 address to Congress over Iran's nuclear ambitions as political cover to sneak in the extraordinarily controversial vote.
As part of this effort, the former chiefs of staff to House Speaker John Boehner and Republican National Committee chairman Reince Priebus, through a group called the American Action Network, spent $400,000 for advertisements aimed at pressuring House conservatives to support Obama's executive amnesty and fund it in its entirety through the end of the fiscal year.
On the same day as Netanyahu's speech, the Republican-led House of Representatives caved to the demands of Democrats and passed a "clean" Department of Homeland Security appropriations bill by 257-167 with a majority of Democratic votes. Seventy-five Republicans voted to pass the clean bill, 167 voted against passage. The measure provided full funding of the DHS through September 30th, the end of the federal fiscal year, leaving Obama's executive amnesty untouched.
In essence, the seventy-five Republicans, who joined all House Democrats to fund Obama's executive amnesty, aided and abetted the shredding of the Constitution by giving Obama the funding and future permission to rewrite federal law as he sees fit.
And what about Ted Cruz, the candidate you endorsed, Mr. Bozell?
Is it not Ted Cruz, who has joined the Republican establishment to thwart the will of the American people by back-room manipulation of the electoral process? Is that what you endorse, Mr. Bozell?
Was it not Ted Cruz, the candidate you endorsed, who voted in favor of the Corker/Cardin Amendment, which essentially "pre-approved" the Iran nuclear deal by turning the treaty provision of the Constitution on its head, changing ratification from the constitutionally-mandated 67-vote for approval to a 67-vote for denial?
Was it not Ted Cruz, the candidate you endorsed, who penned a Wall Street Journal op-ed with House Speaker Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) endorsing Obama's trade agenda -describing the TPP as an "historic" agreement that "would mean greater access to a billion customers for American manufacturers, farmers and ranchers?"
Like many in the Washington DC chattering class, Mr. Bozell, you just don't get it.
The November 2014 election was not an endorsement of the Republican Par... of Obama's dramatic expansion of government power. The voters demanded that Congress stop his fundamental transformation of America, restoring the Constitutional balance of power and ending the Executive Branch abuses against the citizenry. Yet, the Republican leadership and its toadies in Congress undercut that vote and became complicit in the enactment of Obama's unconstitutional policies.
And you speak about "sanity," Mr. Bozell? To paraphrase Albert Einstein, again trusting the Republican establishment and expecting different results would be insane.
Many Americans now believe that we are no longer citizens of a republic, but subjects of a reigning oligarchy composed of a self-absorbed permanent political class, which services the interests of wealthy financiers at the expense of the wider population. They maintain their authority by an ever-expanding and increasingly intrusive government and use a compliant media to manipulate public perception and opinion in order to maintain the illusion of democracy.
The two most important issues of the 2016 election are non-partisan.
(1) The federal government and the media are, as institutions, hopelessly corrupt.
(2) The United States has elections, but we no longer have representative government.
None of the problems facing the country can be solved effectively without first confronting those two issues. Any candidate addressing them directly will capture the majority of voters on both sides of the political center.
But let's be honest for a moment, Mr. Bozell. It is really not Donald Trump's words that the establishment fears, and it is not only the loss of political power, but they fear the revelations of past government conduct that might emerge, and the potential for investigation and prosecution.
Perhaps it is you, Mr. Bozell, who should do the "courageous thing," and stand with the American people and not with the corrupt political-media establishment.

Harry...I'm not sure what you mean by outside influences.
My point was, if Mr. Bozell told lies about Mr. Trump, why wouldn't someone attempt to disprove them?
Did Mr Trump:
- declare his support for single-payer healthcare...or is that a lie?
- support the Wall Street bailout...or is that also a lie?
- support partial-birth abortion?
- contribute to Schumer, Pelosi and a host of other Democrats during the amnesty fight?
- contribute to the Clinton campaigns?
- support an "assault weapons' ban?
I could go on, but my point was....if someone wrote a scathing open letter that included lies about my good friend, I'd respond to those accusations. That is, unless it was impossible because they were true.
In that case, I guess I'd write a scathing open letter about the neighbors up the street.
Mr. Trump has released his plan for healthcare and it is NOT single-payer, it is about to allow capitalism free reign and across State lines to have a healthy competition to try to keep prices down, in other words the opposite of a monopoly.
If he at one time supported wall street bailout (so did Bush and so many others fell for that, as well as Cruz and Hillary) he has seen the errors of that system and knows of the great loss to the American people and business where ONLY the banks made out.
His support of abortion has been explained over and over again, the one line talking points may sell papers and tabloids, but never tells the whole story and how he came about not liking the idea of Abortions at ALL, except for in cases of incest, rape and life of the mother-he has explained this no less than a thousand times.
Contribute to demoncrats, again explained a thousand times, but if you look at the amounts donated you will find he donated way, way more and for as many years to the Republicans
Donated to the Clinton campaign in her LAST election (he did not want Obama), but again, has donated more heavily to the republicans including to turn coat Romney.
About the assault weapons ban-hell do you know the difference between an "assault gun-and a rifle? (hint assault is automatic-even I do not want one-even though I own rifklesthat may look like an "assault gun" but is not), any way he has recently released another paper explaining his views on the 2nd amendment to which he has never wavered as a matter of fact Mr. trump himself carries and has a license to do so, and has for years! as well as his own sons are hunters.
I could go on and on myself,,,,talking points are all well and good, what no one else has ever evolved? The truth is Mr. trump has voted Republican for over 30 years, he is a business man and is a giving man, in business you are asked for favors, who are we to say it is not ot of the kindness of his heart or for business purposes, and in doing business you are a liar if you say you do not work with or know your politicians, heck I am still getting solicited from the Cruz campaign as well as the Paul's because I gave to them, I have also given to democrats because I have a son with Autism and guess what, where I live I am one of the very few registered republicans in a deeply democrat state, but in order to get the attention of a legislator, you have to give money-it is a crime-but it is true-and mind you I am far from wealthy.
Also if you want to know if I really wanted to create havoc i could write untruths about anyone, I could point out mistakes on anyone...but there are non-worse in the way of crime than Hillary, and truthfully my grandparents know what happens with socialism-so that makes Bernie out...as for Ted, well no matter what the so called "Great one" says, I have a huge problem with his giving up his Canadian citizenship JUST 2 years ago..heck I was told that I could have a dual citizenship up until the age of 16 (the right to choose) because although I born here in Indiana of an American mom, my father was Danish, so I could have chosen to be both American and Danish, but I did not, BUT if I chose this AFTER the age of 16 then I would have lost my American citizenship, ya see if your born here on American soil-you ARE American first and cannot have dual nationale...if born abroad you MUST register the birth immediately with an American embassy, or you will not be recognized and you must spend at least 15 years here...but besides all that I do not like Ted Cruz's voting record, and frankly I like the books and papers released by Trump, yes I have read them...so sorry that Brent has gone off the deep end to a person that so many despise!
Dawn.........thank you for your observations which are convincing.
To Jodi's questions, most of the answers Trump has given at some point and some numerous times.......I believe he has mentioned that some positions he has had in the past would not, is not positions he holds now.
Bottom line, every one has freedom to change and frankly I'm convinced Trump, given some warts Jodi believes is apparent, is the best opportunity we have at this time to reverse the destructive direction our nation is heading.
It is not a matter of being convincing, I have read a couple of his books, I have gone to his rallies, I have read his papers that he has released on line. It is true that he has had some rather far out Ideas IN THE PAST, and he admits, yup admits that he was wrong and did not know enough of the subject and when a couple of the subjects actually hit home (in other words starting affecting his friends) fro several things such as healthcare and abortions he evolved. But the rest he has been talking about for over 30 years, There was a video of Trump on the Oprah show about 30 years ago where the things he was talking about and predicting have actually come true. There is also another video of Trump in front of Congress talking about real estate and regulations and losses of American jobs, talking about the steel is poor quality coming from other nations and how we have the best steel right here, he was also talking about trade. That video screamed of his intelligence about his knowledge about world affairs, government affairs and trade,...so not meant to convince but to explain fact against all the false propaganda and oft repeated talking points, and truthfully one does not have to dig very hard or go very far to get the truth, it is out there in so, so many places and repeated as well to defute the lies and propaganda!
Some one once asked me if I was a libertarian and had supported Ron Paul, how the heck could I support Trump. Well I was stuck in the middle east working with the International Red Cross, and I saw first hand propaganda, I heard all the rumors spoken about Nixon and Kissenger and Carter and why they were so made at the USA, I understood what they Paul was talking about dealing with blowback, I also have been screaming like a voice in the wilderness about NATO, about the United Nations, about our troops overseas, about us putting money into nations and ONLY the leaders getting the majority of the monies and not the people. I understood why other nations attacked us and blamed us for their woes. BUT I also saw us building hospitals and schools, I myself since the age of 5 gave to UNICEF, and what Mr. trump is saying is very much in concert with what Ron Paul had to say, they also agree dealing with the banks and the unfair trade. So yeah, I may have looked a little more deeply into things, when I first came home to the states after serving those 5 to 7 years (2 years in Italy) I decided to work for an import export company (I could not stop the nightmares of bodies ripped, torn, tortured) I stayed away from medicine for awhile, because I spoke languages and knew of exchange forms such as sight drafts and CAD and Government tariffs and forms, it made me understand the war even more so, as well as trade deals and UNfair trade deals. My Father once told me if you read the Wall Street journal long enough you will be able to predict where the next war would be and that lesson stuck, hence why I loved Dr.Paul (my love of medicine) and why I love Mr. trump (love and respect to my father...BUT also life experiences screams to me, I pray that all Mr. trump promises can come to light, because we are in serious, serious trouble and not enough good folks out there realize it! (not meaning to be rude-just to explain)
Bravo for this reply. Reasonable, rational and TRUE. Trump , like all of us has been in seemingly contradictory stances. To comprehend the man one must look at ALL his tendencies and you have done that and explained the relative VIRTUE the man has over ALL his professional parasitical career political opponents who will say or do anything and then act in total opposition to what they claimed they would support, Strictly for your VOTE which conventions then may mitigate or reassign against your intent! He is right. the system IS rigged but, so powerful is his popular support that no amount of subversion by illegals, Muslims or others inimical to our constitution and has been able to defeat his Integrity in speaking what he believes to be true and which Rational American citizens AGREE with because they have been EXPERIENCING the reality since Obama's first election on 2 November 2008 which has close to tripled our debt by the time he leaves office; IF he leaves. We have lost freedoms or had them impaired, choice is becoming a thing of the past and our schools are centers for indoctrination , NOT learning. I believe the Donald is the ONLY truly American candidate with nothing on his agenda but the restoration of Constitutional government and equitable law enforcement under the universal Rule of Law in THIS country with NO OTHER LAWS APPLICABLE HERE. PERIOD! We ARE an independent and SOVEREIGN nation and I wish to see it REMAIN so. Donald Trump is the BEST and ONLY option for that Goal to be accomplished. No candidate is ever perfect but at least this time, there is a true choice and not between a lesser of evils. This candidate is TRULY American . Think not? Read his plans for the control of immigration, the Border Wall the 1st and 2nd Amendments constantly under attack by the left and the New World Order and Thank GOD we have finally a REAL AMERICAN candidate and not a counterfeit like Cruz who in the end is as are the others; advocates of the New World Order that would deny US everything we have and take control of all our resources as well.
May I remind you Jodi180, Ronald Wilson Reagan was once a Democrat and supported FDR, and upon his further examination became quite a conservative and switched to the Republican Party. There is inherent danger is such political organizations, as we have seen over the past 150 years. Theodore Roosevelt was once a Republican that became a dangerous Progressive, don't forget.
Hey, I'm no fan of the Republicans...even though I've been registered as one since I could vote.
But I am a conservative....a constitutional conservative...and I don't believe for a second that Trump is one.
From Business Insider- some key elements of Trump's "Art of the Deal":
The only way you're going to make the deal you want, he says, is if you're coming from a position of strength and can convince the other side that you have something they need.
Trump says he's not afraid to blur reality to utilize leverage.
‘My leverage came from confirming an impression they were already predisposed to believe."
Once you've made a deal, the only way it's going to be worth anything is to then attract customers, he says. Similarly, creating a public persona helps you get the most out of your next deals.
Trump says that he's always embraced a healthy dose of sensationalism and controversy to pique the media's interest.
"I play to people's fantasies," he writes. "People may not always think big themselves, but they can still get very excited by those who do. That's why a little hyperbole never hurts. People want to believe that something is the biggest and the greatest and the most spectacular."
And boy, do people believe he is the biggest, greatest and most spectacular. Sorry folks, but to me he sounds like he's very good at the art of the con-job.
But, I guess we'll have to wait and see, won't we.
Pretty much like you except I am no longer registered as a Republic but a strong Constitutional conservative as well as a fiscal conservative and a social conservative.
I was going to sit out this election or write in NOTA (none of the above) but I'd rather take my chances with Trump (only if he wins the GOP nomination) than allow Hitlery to win.
If the GOP nominates anyone else at this point then NOTA will be my option, meaning I voted and have every right to complain about the next NWO stooge as POTUS.
And yes I do have some doubts concerning Trump as you pointed out (as well as him being LGBT friendly, remember I'm a social conservative, and a Bible believer, which states homosexuality is an abomination to YHVH, the God of the Bible), but like I stated above...
Think of it this way...this was well written, by a Patriot and a Christian..Cruz is totally illegal to run so he should be disqualified and anything he has illegally done, he should be brought to court over.
While in the most part your letter is very good, you have misrepresented the TPP and TPA, which are not the same thing. I am not a Cruz fan and believe he is looking to get us into a one world order by chipping away further at the constitution. Using Judges and others who would love to be unrestricted by the Constitution to signify he is constitutionality eligible is ludicrous. Any one can see what " Natural Born Citizen means with out a liberal Judge interpreting the phrase. I go through this explanation to show that when you mentioned that Cruz supported TPP, you got my attention. If that were so, it would prove he is for one world economy. Unfortunately it is not true.
He actually supported both but changed his mind on the TPP once others started raising a ruckus, such as Jeff Sessions.
