The people are over-ruled by the psychologists, psychiatrists, and parole boards in virtually every case. It doesn't matter that the people have repeatedly passed death sentence laws, the courts have consistently thrown them out. Prime example is Charles Manson, sentenced to die yet overturned and now making a fortune while sitting in prison, AT OUR EXPENSE!
I have said for years that if a judge lets a criminal out, and that individual commits a crime, the judge should be held responsible.
And I've said it for as long as I can remember, that ANYONE convicted of a violent crime using ANY weapon should face execution, without all the BS appeals!

This is exactly why the gun law should never be withdrawn. It leaves the guns in the hands of the outlaws and mentally deranged. That is also why I believe Obama would love to completely outlaw guns, because then we couldn't even protect ourselves from the government, which is why the Constitution originally gave us the right to bear arms. It's also all about money. We live in a crooked society with crooked people running rampant in high positions of power and wealth. They let that man out because it was cheaper for them! Criminals will always find a way to get guns if they want them. I believe we as citizens do have the right to own guns if we are responsible citizens.
This scenario is repeated over and over again!!! After serving 37 years as a deputy sheriff, with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, it sickens me at the hunderds of these tragic incidents that have happened because of lenient judges, parole officers, and legislators!!! No convicted felon should ever be granted early parole except for his/her very first conviction!! unless his first conviction was for 1st degree murder, forceable rape or child molestation, where the child is under 16 years of age, the offender should never be granted early release!! These three crimes should carry a minimum of 55 years imprisonment!!
If Spengler would have been held properly responsible for the murder of his grandmother, long ago, he would have been executed and this problem would never have arisen. The discussion about the death penalty continually promoted by bleeding heart liberals has done nothing but pack our jails with death row inmates who should have been executed long ago. All the while, with the often phoney justification of insuring that an innocent victim isn't put to death, self-interested attorneys working with a complicit liberal judiciary profit by continuing the travesty. Until we get serious about enforcing the law, rather than enabling dilatory lawyers to pursue tactics designed solely to profit themselves, we will have this type of situation existing. I don't hold out much hope for change under the system which exists as the "game is rigged" to the benefit of the lawyers and the judiciary. What is "right" is subordinated to what is "legal". When legal takes precedence over right what you wind up with is what is wrong.
Many people have no idea that judges bear NO civil liability for actions they take while on the bench.......or, for that matter, for any action which fall under "official duties". Police, parole officers, DOC employees all are held liable for actions against a criminal offender. Judges remain exempt. That is a fairly good definition of insanity.
Murder should be dealt with by DEATH SENTENCE--LIFE FOR A LIFE! STOP the watered down death sentences that are dragged out and many killers die BEFORE those sentences are applied. MANDATORY 30 day limit on time murderers allowed to finalize private affairs and family associations for those convicted on absolute evidence including eyewitness, video accounts, then apply the sentence. All other murder convictions come with 5 year time limit=no new evidence within that period of time, apply the sentence on year 5 +one day! Time to eliminate the liberal lawyers, ACLU from using imperfect rules or technicalities to enable killers to escape justice and punishment. The GUILT, EVIDENCE and CONVICTION are more important than a rule being properly or improperly disregarded while the evidence is overwhelmingly substantiated.
