Gun Control Advocate Shoots Intruder

What would you think if a long-time gun control advocate ended up shooting someone?  Might the word “hypocrite” come to mind?

It did for me, and apparently for many others.

The Richmond Times-Dispatch reports North Carolina state senator R.C. Soles shot one of two intruders who attempted to break into his house.

But it gets even more interesting than the mere hypocrisy of a gun control activist shooting somebody.

The New York Times reports Soles won’t be seeking re-election, which is not a surprise since state prosecutors have said they plan to charge Soles because “he acted criminally when he shot a former law client.”

In late August, Soles shot 22-year-old Kyle Blackburn outside the Senator’s home in Tabor City.

Blackburn was a client of Soles’ law firm. Soles told police he shot Blackburn in self-defense, saying that Blackburn was trying to break into his home. Blackburn told us he was leaving the property when he was shot.

While what happens within a grand jury proceeding is secret, we can presume that ballistics evidence was part of what was reviewed yesterday, specifically whether the bullet wound indicated that Blackburn was facing the Senator or running away when he was shot.

We also know surveillance cameras were running at Senator Soles’ house at the time of the shooting.

The shooting itself wasn’t captured on camera, but what transpired before and after the shooting may have helped the jurors determine how the events played out.

Now, I don’t have a whole lot of sympathy for someone who advocates diminishing the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding Americans.  But when I learn that they consider themselves elite enough to own a weapon, any sympathy I might have had goes out the door.

And apparently this wasn’t even a clear-cut case of self-defense.  The shooter knew the man who was shot, and a grand jury found sufficient evidence to charge the shooter for criminal activity.

This happened a few months ago, but I’m just now finding out about it from Marty Rickard.  Better late than never, to find out about this kind of hypocrisy from a member of the gun control lobby.

i've heard it said, "wait until the intruder(s) actually breech the confines and are entered inside the structure..."   but hindsight is always 20-20, isn't it...  as for sympathy, this typical hypocritical politician should go down as surely as there are laws which are applied against anyone who maliciously wounding another with intent...  and TAKE HIS GUNS AND OWNERSHIP RIGHTS FROM HIM IMMEDIATELY AFTER HIS CONVICTION !!!!!!!

This is another example of the people who represent us in Congress.  We really don't know them.  

 

Keep your guns well oiled and your powder dry.  2nd Amendment writers knew what they were doing.

The perfect hypocrite is the one that says "I need this, but you don't!". This is almost laughable, but since it proves the "elitist" mentality of the Senator. We now must press for the right of every citizen, with out a violent criminal record to be able to defend them self, their homes, neighborhoods and families with firearms.

We know that the police are not obligated to do any thing but come and take a report on any crime and see if they can find the culprit and bring him or her to trial for their crime.  We also know that the criminals want people to be disarmed so they don't have to worry about collecting a bullet instead of loot from ones property or home. So can we place the elitist's with criminals, since both want us unable to fight back against crimes?

I see NO sound reason why we shouldn't class them together; the criminal is at least "honest" enough about his intentions; the politician is lying and trying to break down the system of laws set in place to protect us from the likes of him in the first place, while pretending it's for "our good".   I'd say that makes the politician the worst of the lot!

When a nation loses its morality what it gets is hypocrisy and felons in every crime catagory running national affairs.  And the lame (not main)stream media has the audacity to attack Sarah Palin for Praying to the God of creation and reading books written by the noble C.S.Lewis.  Yet the man who spearheaded the destruction of the twin towers and 3000 souls is living well under the protection of the Obama Admin. nine years after the fact.  The present derelict congress apparently faints before the destructive power brokers which descend upon them from all directions.  We elect the congress and others co-opt.  What a sham.

I tend to take things quite literally so please overlook my question if you wish. How is Obama protecting Osama bin Laden?

I'm open to most anything about members of Congress who have failed us miserably for many decades and now, find themselves, in the perfect storm. They are leeches who choose to live off lobbyists rather than reflect our views and vote accordingly. My congressman never even had a fund raising anything in his home district, everything was held in Washington so he did not have to push the wheelbarrow too far.

The Islamic who engineered the bombings of the twin towers, killed 3000 +/- is yet to face justice.  I didn' t say, he was protecting Osama Ben Laden.  However, here is a thought:  Ben Laden appears to be quite the evasive shadow.  He appears to be a diversion for American Citizens while the political underworld finishes casting America into the tar pits of a satanically inspired New World Order.  Also, the way the twin towers crashed ---straight down----indicates an engineered implosion.  With the impact of the planes, the towers should have been at least a bit to one side or the other. but they went straight down.  Just consider that and see what you can come up with.
