We are all children of the same God, and he has given each of us a talent that is needed by the rest of the family, It is the moral responsibility for each of us to find and make use of our god given talents, for the welfare of the family. Since God, in his infinite wisdom, has chosen to cut some of us off at the knees, it is the families moral obligation to help level the playing field, where these people can use their God given talents. At one time their was a morally correct profit a business could make, but there are no longer any restrictions.
One of the major problems in America today in Entitlements, and it affects both ends of the class system. Many in the Upper Class believe that they are entitled to all they can get regardless of who it hurts or kills. For example, the banking CEOs that received millions in "bank bail-out" funds, after helping to cause the banking crisis, just because they donated to some politicians campaign. Many in the Lower Class have been taught that they are entitled to everything for nothing. There are more special programs, for low income people everyday, i.e., the new cell phone programs, that enable the Lower Class to have cell phones. Instead of new hand-out programs, that enable the Lower Class to have something for nothing, they need programs to help them become self-reliant. Jobs, that pay a LIVING WAGE, are needed where there would be fewer people in the Lower Class, but for this to happen the CEO's and other management positions would have to accept less. Figure the salary of a CEO and then figure the average wage of the workers that preform the work, and see how many more workers could be hired if the management took less. Many years ago business schools taught that there was a morally acceptable profit, for a company, but today there are few morals in business.
An Ancient Chinese proverb clearly states both cause and cure for many of the Lower Class problems. "Give a man a fish he will est for one day, but teach him to fish and he will eat for the rest of his life." Many of the Lower Class have problems that keep them in the Lower Class, but if these problems were corrected they could become self-reliant. Many people are in the Lower Class simply because that is where their family has been for generations. Others have mental or physical problems that could be fixed where these people could become self-reliant.
Anyone that studies The Constitution of The United States of America, The Declaration of Independence, and the other documents, that our Founding used to set up this great country, would see that they relied a lot on the guidance of God. Nowhere in these documents does it say we can not have God in our government and in our schools. These documents teach Rule by Majority, With Respect For ALL Minorities. What we have no is rule by the minority that does NOT believe in God.
15 Feb 1965, I went to Recruiting Station, for The Army of The States of America, and there I took the following oath: I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice.Seems like pretty good motivation to obey any order you're given, right? Nope. These articles require the obedience of LAWFUL orders. An order which is unlawful not only does not need to be obeyed, but obeying such an order can result in criminal prosecution of the one who obeys it. Military courts have long held that military members are accountable for their actions even while following orders -- if the order was illegal.If any law infringes on MY Constitution, it is NOT Lawful. I am one of the old die hards that do not believe that this Oath has an expiration date.
After taking The Oath, I boarded a plane from Dallas Texas, where I was raised, and spent 99% of my then 18 years, and went to Port Polk LA, where I took Basic Training. I walked into one of the class rooms, where the Instructor gave a class on, What it Means to be an American. I thought that had been a mistake, as I was born in America. I ask the Instructor the reason for the class, and he said during the Korean War, there were more American soldiers defected, to the North Koreans. That was because like me they had grew up being American, and knew nothing about what means.
Understand, I had just graduated from high school the Summer before,and our public school had failed to teach me these skills. Apartenly no other school system taught the needed classes either. Today we have many more Immigrants, and these class are still not taught. That is the reason Obama keeps opening America's boarders, bringing in people that don't or care what it means to be an American. These classes need to be taught in every class, in every school, from preschool to Graduate Degree programs.

Very good article Mr. Garnett, Thank you Sir. I few observations if I may. Where you say people have been trapped in their dependency on the Government for their existence, ( my interpretation of what you said not necessarily how you said it).
There are signs and notices at many state wildlife parks that tell people "Do Not Feed The Animals" . The reason for that is that the wild animals become dependent on human hand outs, and quickly loose the skills to hunt and find food on their own. If our Government beurocrats are smart enough to figure that out in relation to wild animals, why can't they figure it out for the lower in class humans? Answer,,,,, It doesn't suit their purposes, an Enslaved and dependent lower class will always vote for those that claim they will feed the. There is a new book available entitled "The Entitlement Trap" that goes into the problem and the solution.
You are also spot-on target in saying that we need to re-structure our educational system, starting with what it means to be an American. I have asked many people what freedom means to them. And mostly what I got back was a dead stare, like a deer caught in the head lights. I've heard several people say it really doesn't matter if the Communists take over this country,,, because "They will have to feed me anyway"..... You and I know the real answer to that one. NO - they will NOT feed you,,, in fact they will take what ever food you may have, and they will make sure you starve to death.

I don't know what I need to do to get all of you to understand the difference between Entitlements, and Benefits.
Entitlements are those things that you have a monetary interest in either by paying the premium, or a required deposit.
A ticket to a ball game is purchased and you have title to entrance and a seat. A payment to a company for insurance coverage entitles you to the coverage offered. Medicare is an Entitlement, Social Security is an Entitlement. Medicaid, Section 8, SSI, Food Stamps are Benefites, They are given to a person with no expectation of a payment by those receiving the benefit. The progressives/socialists/ communists have an ongoing agenda to convolute the language of this country to change its laws by muddling the defining of the language, which affects the laws of this country. If you want to follow the paths of the Main Stream Media in the effort to destroy the Cinstitution that you say you want to preserve, than continue using the Thesaurus as your guide and their influence in the use of words out of context.

Just MHO, but I believe you have those two reversed.
A person gets a benefit from either having contributed to the fund or their employer having contributed or both. {Social Security Benefits} You get benefits as part of a job "with benefits".
An entitlement is given without having contributed to the fund. {food stamps - welfare}
On the subject - If anyone receiving welfare or entitlements (unless it is because of mental or physical inability) were required to put in 40 hours a week of community service and the ammount was less than they could earn at a paying job ---- I bet there would be less people on the public dole and more looking for a paying job.

Robert L Garnett, While much of what you wrote I agree with, some of your terminology I can not.
The term "LIVING WAGE", to me, is a Liberal, Progressive, Socialist, Communist term.
For me, what ever you EARN thru work is a living wage as you will have to find a way to live on it.
If one wants better wages, they will have to work harder / smarter to attain it.
This "LIVING WAGE" is a term coined by the unions/communists to con us into thinking that everyone should get all the goodies in life, even if they don't work for it.
I lived in Daytona Beach, Florida just out of high school from 1982-1985 on the "LIVING WAGE" of $5/hour.
I lived in a campground for most of the first year, 3 seperate crap-hole "apartments" where the Palmetto bugs (cockroaches in the North) were "moving furniture", and after that, finally, a very nice apartment for 6 months.
The reason I was able to make my way up the ladder of housing was being frugal with my money and putting it, when possible, in the bank.
Of course, after 6 months in a nice apartment I made the CHOICE to go back to living on the beachside in one of the crapholes again because I realized that I wanted the extra money in my pocket and in my beer glass instead of in the roof over my head where I slept..
So, to some it up, you get out what you put in.
There will always be jobs that pay dirt & jobs that pay gold.
I went from $5/hour in Florida in 1985 to $35 an hour in Michigan in 2009, when I stopped working.
I made the decision to apply myself and my mind to learn to be the best mechanic I could be in 1995 and then learned my specialty at Industrial Hydraulic Repair in 1999.
Even now that I am retired, I am heading back the other way on the "CLASS" scale because I lived high on the hog and am now disabled and unable to earn a decent living again.
Through it all, I lived at the level I WANTED to earn at, until now.
I am fine with lowering my standard of living and I try not to bitch too much about my lot in life.
After all, I am RESPONSIBLE for every day of it!
Oh, and those 3 years I spent in Florida? The lowest income I ever earned and the best times I ever had!
And I know, if I had to, I could go back to living in those circumstances tomorrow and be happy about it.
This, of course, is just my experience & your mileage may vary!

Well put Mr Garnett and I have had these same sentiments for some time now. Moral capitalism with ethical business practices no longer exists. I hear Dennis Miller making his dumb-ass comments on how some people complain about corporations making too much money. If it’s ethical business practices that they have profited from, more power to them; If it’s not then just the opposite.
Now republicans are ignoring their base, leaving conservative principals and values in the gutter. Both parties have compromised the future generations of born Americans. The extreme leftists force the amnesty card at every turn and keep a steady flow of entitlement programs that will drive us further into economic turmoil. All this while republicans ignore corporate greed as if “business” and “ethics” are separate and unrelated topics.
Greenspan said he never could have believed that greed was at such a level and thought the marketers (banksters) would use good judgment as custodians of the world economy. It turned out to be more like the fox running the chicken coop.
Brooksley Born warned Greenspan of the fantasy financing going on when she was head of the CFTC in 1998. Greenspan, Rubin and Summers shunned her and were instrumental in getting congress to strip investigative powers from the CFTC. They don’t need to investigate ethics as their main function was to investigate fraud. Greenspan thought otherwise. He is in part responsible for allowing this economic disaster to happen.
Bernie Madoff is in the slammer, but what about the banksters that made Bernie look like an amateur. Greenspan, Rubin and Summers should all be in jail for knowing more then they admit knowing about the derivative credit default swaps market. All of this has led us to where we are now; a country with corruption at the top, morally compromised and as divided as we’ve ever been.
One final comment is... The one most reponsible for a country so divided is sitting in our White House.
