Boozing John Boehner Faces GOP Challenge To His Speakership
Posted by: Javier Manjarres on January 4, 2015Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-OH) could face a real threat to his speakership when the new GOP-led Congress convenes for the first time in 2015.
Several Republican members of the House, who asked that we not name them as a source, joked about Boehner’s “close relationships” with Mr. Jack Daniels and Mr. Jim Beam.
On one occasion where Boehner seemed have met with either Daniels or Beam while conducting his duties as Speaker, was at a midday candidates meeting in one of the 2nd floor rooms at the Capitol Hill Club over the summer in 2012.
Several attendees to the closed press meeting, including myself, witnessed a very glossy-eyed Boehner slur his words while addressing the group, before loosing his step while exiting the room. One attendee said that she could smell the booze on his breath during a quick photo opportunity she had with the Speaker.
According to Breitbart.com, there is a “two-stage process” plan to challenge, and eventually boot Boehner from atop his perch at the Capitol.
But will conservative Republicans come together and vote him out, or will they all fall in line and trade niceties with the Speaker, plug their nose, and vote for him to keep his speakership?
