Common Law Citizens Grand Jury

I preface this with the points that, in the matter of law I am at the infancy stage of comprehension, I am a child of the Most High God blessed with a sound mind, I am a student of law not by choice but by necessity to find a way to restore and preserve the freedoms our nation’s Constitution aspires to provide for me and my posterity.

In an effort to understand the Common Law Citizens Grand Jury (CLCGJ) I have done some reading on the subject and this study has generated some questions. I hope someone in the forum can help me with a better understanding.

  1. A presentation on the National Liberty Alliance (NLA) website said that “common law” is synonymous with “natural law”. In researching both I found them to be different; common law referring to the practice of law that focuses on precedent and natural law is a system of law determined by nature. How are they to be considered synonymous?

  2. There have been posts on NLA and other websites that the decision made by Supreme Court Justice (SCJ) Antonin Scalia in U.S. vs. Williams, 112 S.Ct. 1735, 504 U.S. 36, 118 L.Ed.2d 352 (1992) has established precedence to enable citizens of this nation to form CLCGJs. While reading this decision I found no basis for establishing a grand jury outside of the form that is referred to in the Fifth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. This being the grand jury of the type that is currently implemented in the state of Florida by the Florida Constitution and statutes (my state of residence and course of study). How does SCJ Scalia’s decision validate the citizens’ right to establish CLCGJs?

  3. If there is a legal basis for adjudication outside the established justice system of the U.S. and her states concerning how will the True Bill of presentment or indictment be prosecuted? I get the impression that the expectation of NLA is that the county commissioners have the power to adjudicate or pass judgment and that the county sheriff will apprehend and incarcerate the guilty party. I could find nothing in the Florida Constitution or statutes prescribing this authority. If this authority is granted, where is it documented and what is the jurisdiction of it?

I have some more questions, I think, but my brain feels like it did three sessions of crossfit.

May God bless you, your family, Terry, his family, and this nation,

Wendell Beattie

  • Wendell. May I suggest you post this on OAS website to Richey's attention. He's well versed in the subject.
