LIB'ERTY, n. [L. libertas, from liber, free.]
1. Freedom from restraint, in a general sense, and applicable to the body, or to the will or mind. The body is at liberty, when not confined; the will or mind is at liberty, when not checked or controlled. A man enjoys liberty, when no physical force operates to restrain his actions or volitions.
2. Natural liberty, consists in the power of acting as one thinks fit, without any restraint or control, except from the laws of nature. It is a state of exemption from the control of others, and from positive laws and the institutions of social life. This liberty is abridged by the establishment of government.
3. Civil liberty, is the liberty of men in a state of society, or natural liberty, so far only abridged and restrained, as is necessary and expedient for the safety and interest of the society, state or nation. A restraint of natural liberty, not necessary or expedient for the public, is tyranny or oppression. civil liberty is an exemption from the arbitrary will of others, which exemption is secured by established laws, which restrain every man from injuring or controlling another. Hence the restraints of law are essential to civil liberty.
The liberty of one depends not so much on the removal of all restraint from him, as on the due restraint upon the liberty of others.
In this sentence, the latter word liberty denotes natural liberty.
4. Political liberty, is sometimes used as synonymous with civil liberty. But it more properly designates the liberty of a nation, the freedom of a nation or state from all unjust abridgment of its rights and independence by another nation. Hence we often speak of the political liberties of Europe, or the nations of Europe.
5. Religious liberty, is the free right of adopting and enjoying opinions on religious subjects, and of worshiping the Supreme Being according to the dictates of conscience, without external control.
6. Liberty, in metaphysics, as opposed to necessity, is the power of an agent to do or forbear any particular action, according to the determination or thought of the mind, by which either is preferred to the other.Freedom of the will; exemption from compulsion or restraint in willing or volition.
7. Privilege; exemption; immunity enjoyed by prescription or by grant; with a plural. Thus we speak of the liberties of the commercial cities of Europe.
8. Leave; permission granted. The witness obtained liberty to leave the court.
9. A space in which one is permitted to pass without restraint, and beyond which he may not lawfully pass; with a plural; as the liberties of a prison.
10. Freedom of action or speech beyond the ordinary bounds of civility or decorum. Females should repel all improper liberties.
To take the liberty to do or say any thing, to use freedom not specially granted.To set at liberty, to deliver from confinement; to release from restraint.
To be at liberty, to be free from restraint.Liberty of the press, is freedom from any restriction on the power to publish books; the free power of publishing what one pleases, subject only to punishment for abusing the privilege, or publishing what is mischievous to the public or injurious to individuals.

There is no doubt that the tyrranical element (known as liberals today) has worked very hard in the last 100 years to change our cultural perception of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. I completely agree that the situation in our country is reaching a heart-rending pinnacle. Our liberties are under attack the likes of which we have not faced in our lifetimes. However, “I’m done” is not a position we can afford to take. There are so many of us who have awakened and are now fighting to restore what has been taken and to protect what we have left. Just this morning my husband and I went to check out a new gun range and we were thrilled at the number of people (families!) who were there target shooting. It was early morning and by the time we left -just before noon- the number of people at this small range had grown to approximately 40! I believe this to be an indication of an awakening people determined to exercise and retain their sovereign rights. I would point to the organized militias, the patriot groups and the constitutional activists who understand liberty as defined by Webster and are peacefully defying the political machine. I proudly recognize the police, the sheriffs, the veterans, the active duty military, the National Guardsman, and even those limited few politicians who also understand liberty and are abiding by their oathes to protect and defend the Constitution from all enemies, foreign and domestic.
We have experienced an example of peaceful defiance, alertness and cooperation of citizens just this week. that dedicated, intelligent, professional and honorable men and women are working together to inform all patriots of possible threats and to peacefully (peacefully for as long as possible that is) neutralize immediate threats. Whether those threats are false flag, disinfo, or real - we are out here fighting. We are not done, I say. And though we have a long way to go and a LOT of work before us, we can see small things happening that point to gained ground on our part.
I am not done. I work for freedom for my children and twelve grandchildren. I work for freedom for all the children and grandchildren! I will not be done until I draw my last breath. I believe that there are hundreds of thousands like me. We can not let them win. As long as people who are willing to fight for freedom & justice live and breathe, there is a fighting chance of victory. “Resistance is Victory”.
Deb, you missed the whole point of I'm Done's article. If you read the last paragraph of I'm Done, he stated that it will take blood and guts to win back the Country we have already lost. And yes we have already lost our Country.
I personally have along with others resisted for over 7 years to no avail. The substance of I'm Done's article, was the situation we are now faced with, is the stone cold truth. We will never again win an election or win our Country back with an election. The politically correct liberal left is now firmly in control of our Country and the only way to rest it from their dirty commie hands is armed revolution.
They own the media, (ie the fifth column), they have cornered the market on voter fraud and they have infiltrated the right with the likes of McShame, Graham crackers, bumbling drunk Bohnors and back stabbing Karl Marx Roves. The Supreme Court is stacked with 3 lesbians and the traitor John Roberts. Obama violates our Constitution daily without a wimper from the so called right. The Government is completely and totally in their control.
The time is near when you will find out how many of those 40 plus sharpshooters at the range feel the same way as you, me and I'm Done feel. It will take nothing short of pledging your Life, your Fortune and your Sacred Honor to secure Liberty for our children, our grandchildren and all the future generations of our children.
Quit wasting your ammo at the range and start stock piling as much as you can. Unless I miss my guess we're going to need every round!
I agree with some of your points, Luke. As I stated, our country is suffering and is definitely heading toward a peak of more suffering. The traitors in our government - federal, state and local - must be dealt with. And, yes, it appears that the "commies" own, have complete control of and have infiltrated everything, everywhere. However, I would point out that there are patriots who own pieces of the media; who own businesses – large & small; who are taking control of city councils & school boards; who are making their way into the ranks of state governments; and who make public stands and are resisting. They are reaching hundreds of thousands, even millions, with the message of liberty. So complete control - not yet. Massive control? Absolutely! When there is no longer any resistance - that's when they have won. I will agree that the awakening of the people has not been a fast process. It is definitely slow and painful.
Like you I've been fighting the freedom battle a long time, since the 1990’s, to no avail; at least not in the traditional political sense. That has quickly become a waste of time. Elections are phony and nearly all of the politicians are even more phony. I do believe that encouragement to those in government and law enforcement who are making the effort to resist, who are sincere in their support of liberty, is still important. There are a very few who believe in liberty and the Constitution. We should not abandon them. I maintain that we will prevail. I pray that it would be without bloodshed, but I'm practical enough to sense otherwise. My husband is a combat war vet and we've spent hours upon hours discussing war and its impact. As patriots we can not lose our dignity and honor in fighting for liberty and justice. We should exhaust every single last shred of peaceful resistance until we absolutely have no choice but armed conflict. Civil war is nasty business and we will all lose something of ourselves if it comes to that. If you’ve ever read the letters and diaries of the soldiers in our first civil war you understand what I’m referring to. I once read somewhere the words of a wise man who said that there is much to be gained by owning the moral high-ground. I still have hope that honorable men and women can gain and hold that moral high-ground where the Tree of Liberty stands. Unfortunately, as Thomas Jefferson said, "The Tree of Liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood patriots and tyrants." So be it.
The gist of I'm Done sounded lost and hopeless to me, as though everything decent and good had been lost forever. I'm willing to admit I may have misinterpreted the author's original point, but his piece still left me with the feeling that he had lost all hope, a condition that is destructive to those who are facing very difficult times and life-altering decisions.
As for wasting ammo at the range - we do not believe that being proficient in the use of your weapons is a waste. We reload our ammo - and that of our friends - and therefore do not deplete our available supply. We do nothing on a whim or fancy and are very aware of our actions and the consequences. After all, possessing guns and bullets serves no purpose if you can't use them efficiently and effectively <smiling>. Teaching our 13 year-old grandson to shoot is also not a waste of ammo. Learning to handle your weapon properly is a critical life lesson and one we most happily teach. As we found in speaking to those "40 plus sharpshooters at the range" most do feel the same as we all do. They know the time is coming, and they too are readying for the fray. All patriots have their abilities, ideas and contributions to make. Responsible individuals coming together in a common cause. That's liberty.

I have served this Nation for 28 years of my life. I have gone from picking up and counting toenails to calling in bomb strikes. Been there and done that. I DON'T want that to happen Stateside but it is TOO late...we are already there.
