Gateway Pundit

On Sunday, December 23, liberal New York newspaper The Journal News published the names and addresses of legal pistol permit holders in two counties online and in print.

Now this…
A home of legal pistol permit holder identified by the Journal News was burglarized Saturday. The vandals went straight for the gun safe.

Newsday reported, the The Blaze:

A White Plains residence pinpointed on a controversial handgun permit database was burglarized Saturday, and the burglars’ target was the homeowner’s gun safe.

At least two burglars broke into a home on Davis Avenue at 9:30 p.m. Saturday but were unsuccessful in an attempt to open the safe, which contained legally owned weapons, according to a law enforcement source. One suspect was taken into custody, the source said.

The gun owner was not home when the burglary occurred, the source said. The victim, who is in his 70s, told Newsday on Sunday that he did not want to comment while the police investigation continues.

“The police are doing a full investigation,” the man saidthrough a partially opened front door.

There was broken glass in the backyard Sunday and a ladder leading up to a second-story window. Neighbors on the street of modest, Colonial homes said they had heard about the burglary.

The homeowner’s name and address were included recently on the controversial interactive map of gun permit holders in Westchester and Rockland counties published on The Journal News’ website.

  • The news paper needs tp pay and pay and pay some more.

    • A law suit to sue them into being forced to sell out would be a good start

  • It's a shame and an injustice that the socialists at the Journal couldn't be tried as an accessory to a crime or contributing to a crime by providing name and address's. I would be glad to sit on that jury. The average citizen can be charge for a like crime.

    • Harold Conklin, IMHO, and understanding of law, they can and should be charged with conspiracy to commit burglery in this situation

  • Journal News is guilty of a conspiracy to commit burglery.

  • I do hope the home owner sues that rag paper out of existence and the people that approved the printing of those names face jail time for this. Who knows maybe the next time the home owner will be home and take care of business then the paper should be facing murder charges. What the hell is wrong with this country these days? Yea I know we have a bunch of Socialists running the show and they can get away with what ever they want most of all in New York City WOW!

  • sounds like the newspaper was a co-conspirator in this incident.

I wonder if they might have been held responsible for the crooks death if the home owner had been at the residence and fatally shot one of the intruders.

I think that would at least be chargeable as a co-conspirator for manslaughter in most states.

  • I would like to know if the burglars used the map to find this home. Fox News or Glenn Beck needs to interview the burglars on the air if they are found to have used the map. This can be used to our advantage. Demonstrate what the paper did exposes the public to danger. Show them. Show the WORLD!

  • I know what I would do if my home was burglarized after they printed my name. Their names were also printed online. Paybacks are a bitch. Oh gee that's right, they hired armed guards. Cowards and traitors in positions of power everywhere in our Country.

  • I hope the home owners sue the paper.
