How The Republican Establishment Can Keep Donald Trump From Getting The Nomination:

"It is going to be much more difficult for Donald Trump to win the Republican nomination than most people think.  In order to win the nomination, a candidate must secure at lease 1,237 of the 2,472 delegates that are up for grabs.  But not all of them will be won during the state-by-state series of caucuses and primaries that will take place during the first half of 2016.  Of the total of 2,472 Republican delegates, 437 of them are unpledged delegates - and 168 of those are members of the republican National Committee.  And unless you have been hiding under a rock somewhere, you already know that the Republican National Committee is not a fan of Donald Trump.  In order to win the Republican nomination without any of the unpledged delegates, Trump would need to win 60.78 percent of the delegates that are up for grabs during the caucuses and primaries.  And considering that his poll support is hovering around 30 percent right now, that is a very tall order. ..."

  • Yes, Morning Star - you've brought up a very important conflict within party politics for sure. And, yes, it will be difficult for Trump to win all the necessary delegate numbers toward holding a plurality at the time of nominations. A recent difficulty occurring with Trump's emotional expressions is that which occurred in an interview with Wallace, of Fox News,  at Trump Towers in New York. As Wallace asked Trump about his views of Cruz as a candidate, Trump expressed that he sees Cruz as not having enough, or effective, capability [my impression of what was said; not a quote] to be president. Trump described Cruz as pressuring and arguing with Congress ".....like a maniac....". Rush Limbaugh & quite a few others took strong issue with Trump's usage of that term - he used it only once in the interview. The effect upon Limbaugh was to cause him to ".....have doubts about his conservatism....". Trump has survived & gained some points on previous strong remarks. But, this verbal label of Cruz may well have a more lasting negative effect. This similar to Trump's remark about Iowa voters regarding their poll support for Bernie Sanders - "...how dumb can they [Ohio voters] be ?!!..." . Trump MUST ! curtail and edit his strong impulsive comments to bring about a much more positive, gainful persona for 'swing' voters - e.g., 'undecided', 'independent', 'conflicted democratic voters.

Another threat for Trump's nomination is a 'brokered' nominating convention. by the GOP National Committee. This would be a deliberate splitting of all pledged delegates and Committee held delegates. This would break up into factions of delegates. The effect of this would be to lower the number of core delegates supporting Trump. If this happens, the single digit polled candidates - Bush, Kaschic, Huckabee, Santorum, Fiorina, etc - would view a fatal weakness of Trump's candidacy. They'd smell political blood letting & swing their own delegates toward either Cruz, Rubio, or even Fiorina. It'd be a chaotic process to reach to a plurality of delegates for one candidate. Trump's populist campaign candidacy would be severely damaged and broken into further factions.

All in all, Morning Star, IT AIN'T GOOD FOR THE PARTY NOR THE CONVENTION  !

      Exactly!

I'm just about tired of all of them.  These political debates have to be entertaining for our enemies, foreign and domestic.

As I check out the 2016 Debate tonight - the candidates did the predictable thing - went after Trump.  Just imagine how predictable they will be if any of them become the RNC nominee.

Trump doesn't seem to have too much spunk or interest for tonight's debate.  His numbers may take a tumble after tonight's 'show'.

I can't say that I have any sense of hope or security for our country after listening to them.  I believe that most Americans feel that not any of the candidates truly give a rat's tail about us and no matter who wins the political chair, we are and will be on our own.

      • Morning Star- I watched the 5th Republican debate also tonight - YouTube - CNN. The CNN woman [cannot recall her name] seemed deliberately poking just to stimulate infighting between candidates - especially anti-Trump. For example, her question to Cruz asked the reason he doesn't speak about Trump in same words he does privately! Cruz deflected the question adroitly. She further asked Trump about his comment about the Cruz label of "....maniac..". Trump deflected that also with a warm pat & rub on Cruz's shoulder, saying, "[Look....he's OK...he's a good guy!...]". Typical CNN. And that attitude from CNN blends right over into the GOP National Committee. Trump did show reserve, composure - yes, seeming a little less "spunk" as you observed.

All of them, though, Morning Star, did emphatically endorse & agree with others that safety of American citizens must come first ! And, in an indirect way, Morning Star, your mostly correct about no matter who wins... "we are and will be on our own.". We 've been shuffled off into that position for the past eight years. And, it's about to get worse - much worse. I was quite surprised that CNN nor any of the candidates did not bring up the commanding influence of Putin & Russia upon the Mid-East power struggles. Nor did any question come up about the near raging war hawks of Senators McCain and several of his cohorts. This is real ! insanity of Obama trying to provoke Putin into a military reaction against America, NATO, European Union ! Especially so after Obama has decimated our military & continues to try to provoke China.

Notice, Morning Star, as you imply, that the national political parties advance nothing ! about working hard to avoid any major military confrontation between large military powers - including Turkey. Meanwhile, through the last three presidents - our borders are floodgates for infiltrators, illegals, and "refugees" - ALL OF WHICH  none of the candidates, nor political party committees have raised before the American people !

I do agree with you Morning Star - just seems the American population are left up high & dry for power controls.

        • Garie. Paul D.,

Yup.  'All wars are Banker's wars' - were as - 'We The People' will always become short-changed.

We have to prepare for the absolute worse to come - and can only hope to survive.

          • Morning Star - your comment >"..'We the People' will always become short changed....", is well on the mark. Yet your remark understates the real actions taken against us American citizens across America. We do have to prepare for "....the absolute worse to come - and can only hope to survive".

Morning Star - this discussion you posted [re "....Keep Donald Trump ....Getting Nomination" only shows how much ! connected the whole ball of destructive gov. controls is rolled up tightly into an unraveling ball of yarn. And, for better or worse, connects ALL these Forum discussions together.

For example [not to extend this reply here], Colorado began taking actions against "Off the Grid" residents in southern CO & other areas. They're doing this by changing zoning laws & ordinances; getting local & district court judgments of injunctions against any further 'sovereign land' changes toward self-sufficiency. Sounds super conspiratorial??  CO passed local laws against water collected into large storage tanks; against energy generators beyond a certain voltage;, & much ! more.

OK OK.. this "...Trump...." discussion format isn't one to address these issues. But, ALL these discussions have multiple connections.

Thank you again Morning Star for your postings.

U.S. Supreme Court Decision Could Change Election Results Forever:

    http://www.fromthetrenchesworldreport.com/us-supreme-court-decision...

    • Morning Star - thank you for posting this very important SCOTUS pending legal case review & hearing.

[By the way, I've noticed I've replied to nearly all your points of discussion. I'm not 'following' you, Morning Star. It is that you raise points of discussion which affects & directly ties into other Forum discussion points. I am surprised that more Forum members are not writing to your points of discussion.]

The direct implication of the SCOTUS review & hearing is the very ! possible redefinition of the legal term of "person". I wrote before, that we Americans are now under a 'Corporate' Constitution - NOT ! our original Constitution of the United States of America. This has very direct legal effect upon the definition of "person". Since "redistricting" of voting precincts was instituted some several decades ago, this election process was and is used to give political favor & strength to specific special interest minorities, populations, socio-economic classes of citizens. This for the benefit, or disadvantage of a specific political party and highly influential 'special interest groups, cabals, & oligarchies. This SCOTUS review & hearing can potentially throw the entire election process into chaos. The end result is much, much more suppression of American citizens & patriots.

Have you noticed that the Democratic Party is no longer holding any ! debates? The Clinton Machine is totally engulfed into the background controllers of our American election process.
