Home schooling is probably the answer for some people but if you all take your kids out of public school who is going to care what the rest of the kids are taught ? Public schools belong to us. We pay for them, and even if you pull your kids out you will continue to pay for them.

My kids are grown so I really don't have a dog in this fight but it seems to me you should be fighting to take your schools back. Get involved, get elected to the school board, join the PTA,

sit in on your kids classes and scream bloody murder when you see something you don't like.

We have to stop running away and we need to push back.

As I said, I no longer have a dog in this fight, but this is what my wife and I did and it worked for us.

Just my two cents.

  • Whatever problems that you may have with homeschooling, however legitimate and however many, will doubtless pale before the fact that Obama's Communists (aka "progressives" et al) have taken over the US public school system-- and even some of the universities--and turned them into political indoctrination centers to turn them into Communists like the North Koreans. It is absolutely diabolical as this WILL destroy the nation built by the Founding Fathers and two hundred years of dedication by the countless millions of good citizens.
The best and really the only answer to stop this is for us to take our schoolchildren OUT of public schools and educate them ourselves. The government, Obama, and the teachers' unions can go to hell. It will take years to trun the situation around and until we manage to do this, no child is safe attending any public school in the United States--at all.
  • Louis,
My point exactly. By taking our kids out and continuing to pay your taxes that pay for schools we will never fix the problem. This problem has been going on since way before Obama came along. It's just being accelerated under his regime.
Believe me I understand the predicament. My kids attended a small country school in Oregon in the 80's & 90's and the progresives were already there. My wife saw what was going on and joined the PTA, got involved and learned to make a differance. She became a force to be reckoned with. You will be surprised how many folks think like we do. When someone speaks up, many others will get involved. And I've got to agree with you, Obama and the teachers unions can go to hell.
Please don't misunderstand my post here. I'm on your side. We just need more good people like you to fight back.
  • The only solution here is to get the government OUT of education altogether. There is no "fixing" this problem. Public schools should not exist--that is my conclusion based on my observations of them.

Governments, as we can clearly see, can NOT be trusted with anything as important as educating our youths. No way.

For now, everyone: homeschool your children or at least send them to a good parochial school.

    Forget "public schools."
