Is Ohio Vets Money Disappearing? VT Takes a Look
H/T to Luke Patrino : "Lucas County is the tip of the iceburg. The Ohio County Veterans Service Commissions (OCVSC) are in all 88 counties. Here are the real numbers.
The.5 mills levy on all taxable property in the State of Ohio brings the 88 counties about 120 million dollars each and every year. In 2010 only 57 million dollars was even budgeted to the County Veteran Service Commissions, about 46% of the 120 million dollars available. 63 million stayed in the Counties coffers.
Of that 57 million dollars budgeted, 36 million dollars was spent on wages, benefits, perks, vehicles and office space for the County Veteran Service Officers and Directors. The remaining 21 million dollars was spent on what the Service Commissioners call (Financial Assistance Expenditures) what ever that is. What it isn't, is direct financial assistance to our needy Veterans.
These numbers come directly from the Ohio State Association of CVSC's & CVSOs annual Report Of Statistics for 2010. Our needy Veterans receive less then 1 dollar out of 6 collected. The ACT passed in 1861 revised in 1886, 1910, 1946 and 1988 that levied the.5 mills to be used to help our Veterans, their wives, children, widows and orphans. OCVSC has been corrupted by our County and State elected and appointed officials who are padding their own pockets while our needy Veterans go begging in the streets.
Since the year 2000 over 1 billion dollars has been denied our Veterans by the 88 County Veteran Service Commissions. Also the Ohio CVSCs haven't been audited since the year 2000, how do you get away with that."

Just like the government...THEY ARE CORRUPT. Our government finances haven't been audited in a very long time. WHY? BECAUSE THEY ARE CORRUPT AND DON'T WANT THE TAXPAYERS TO KNOW HOW MUCH MONEY THEY ARE STEALING AND WHERE IT IS GOING. We need a PRIVATE AUDITOR that reports all GOVERNMENT finances to the taxpayers. But unfortunately, our government is run by Politicians that are lawyers, and we know that lawyers no how to divert finances without our knowledge. We need to REMOVE ALL CORRUPT POLITICIANS AND ELECTED OFFICIALS THAT MANAGE OUR MONEY. THEY ARE ROBBING US BLIND. Basically we need to elect people that are HONEST and CARE ABOUT THE U.S.A. Are there any EXTREMELY HONEST AND GOOD LAWYERS out there that want to HELP TAXPAYERS get what WE deserve? If there are, they are few and far between. Haven't you noticed how our society has become.....GREEDY. CORRUPT. DISHONEST....JUST LIKE OUR PRESIDENT AND OTHER POLITICIANS. We put people in office that don't belong there. We believe that they will keep their promises, but they never do. WE MUST FIND A WAY TO MAKE SURE THAT ALL POLITICIANS KEEP THEIR PROMISES TO THE PUBLIC. Maybe, it's about time we start prosecuting them, putting them in jail for their lies, threats, murders, illegal doings and other laws they have broken. THESE ARE PEOPLE, NOT GODS, THEY SHOULD HAVE TO KEEP THE LAWS AS WE HAVE TO. They are NOT ABOVE THE LAW... yet that's what has been happening and NEEDS TO BE CHANGED.

Bob, this has been going on here in Ohio since 1988 under both Democrat and Republican administrations. We have their numbers from 2006 through 2010 and they are staggering. Over 100 million dollars a year gone missing while our needy Veterans, their wives, children, widows and orphans suffer needlessly.
In 1988 Ohio passed Chapter 5901 which did away with the Soldiers & Sailors Relief Commission (S&SRC) and established the Ohio Veterans Service Commissions (OVSCs). The S&SRC worked perfectly for over 147 years but the money got so big the politicians just couldn't keep their fingers out of the PIE.
But now they have a big problem, the Veterans of Ohio are uniting and fighting back. Someone is going to pay for this injustice so help me God.

Fire all elected officials ; replace them with Senior Citizens, Retirees and Veterans ; This can be done by WE THE PEOPLE UNITED storming the elected officials offices and telling them * you are fired, take a permanent vacation with no pay ,no benefits ,no retirement and replace them with our people. The same can be done all over the Nation, by firing all elected officials , governors, senators , representatives . United we can solve all our problems.
Can you imagine 10.000 fired up Texans marching to the Capitol in Austin and telling the retarded imbeciles in Congress you are fired, no pay,no benefits; get the hell out of the way, we Texans we taking charge of our State; problem solved.

So why don't the Veterans demand an exact accounting of all monies collected? Why hasn't a well-managed private company been subcontracted to properly handle the Veterans' funds? This situation is yet another example of people tolerating incompetent and corrupt government bureaucrats.
If the Veterans refuse to stand up and take charge of the situation by dismissing the careless bureaucrats, nothing will be done, as usual.

This is just more evidence that our probelms start at home and migrates to Washington. The local government is the training ground for the corruption we get in D.C. Everyone of them gets promoted according to the "Peter Principle". For those who may not know what that is, it is rising to their level of incompetence. Most voters never question a candidates competence before they vote. That my friends is one of the problems we face.

Ohioans need to refuse to pay the millage and donate the money directly to local Vets orgs. Take em to court. I'm sure there are plenty of pro bono attorneys who would take the case.

I will tell you how they do it, keep from getting audited. The Brass (Leadership) take them out to Dinners, Movies, etc. get anything they can get on the person by bribing them and telling the auditors, "Oh, we will just look the other way while you do a cursory inspection of the books", that the Leadership has cooked up for the Auditor or outright pay the auditor's firm off.That is how they do.
