From all indications of the train inquiries to us, this will really be a massive turnout in DC. Along that line,we are almost in an overbooked condition, depending on whether Amtrak approves our 10 addional seats at both Ft Lauderdale and Jacksonville. At this point we are taking requests for our waiting list. For those who have already indicated they would like to join our train, but have not submitted any payment, you will be placed on the same waiting list. Availabliity of seats will be on a first come basis based on when your deposit/fare checks are received. So again, if you would like to be a part of this memorable event (Patriot Train Ride to and from the Rally, and Participation in the Massive Patriots Demonstration in DC), be sure we have your deposit immediately. To those who would like to join our venture, contact us immediately (email act1fla@comcast.net) or phone (toll free 866-376-9805 or 954-885-5562)). There may still be some chance for an Orlando Group We know those who are already in the Jax Group, but who would really like to be in an Orlando Group. But is there any other interest for an Orlando Group? Contact us immediately, at the above email/phone numbers, if you would sign up from Orlando if it were available. It will take at least 20 before Amtrak will even listen to us.FLASH!!!!We heard from Amtrak a short time ago in answer to our request for additional Jacksonville seats. We have been granted three more seats at our current price, seven new seats at an increased price, and two Roomettes for a total of 32 JAX spaces. At the present time we have 23 people signed, but only 8 have paid so far. We will continue to assign hard seat assignments to riders as they pay. The rest will remain on the waiting list until payment is made or we reach the July 20th cutoff date. The first 23 paid riders will be the lucky ones who receive the least expensive fares. So continue to get your Patriot friends and neighbors to join our Patriot Train. We have at least 7 more seats available.Fort Lauderdale Status Until we hear from Amtrak on Friday, we still have 20 seats assigned. As of tonight we have 21 signed up, but only 11 have paid. Tomorrow we will learn how many, if any, additional seats Amtrak will assign us.More to come tomorrow. Let's shoot for that magic One Million participants number at the Rally! JerryBJULY 8 STATUS-Ft. Lauderdale & Jax Patriot Train Groups:PATRIOTS:We're going great guns on our two Amtrak Groups to Washington for the 9-12 Events. If everybody who is signed up pays their dues, we will have a total of riders 18 from Ft. Lauderdale and 22 riders from Jacksonville and Orlando or vicinity, all riding in our Patriot Car. The demand has been so great that we have requested an additional 20 seats from Amtrak. If you haven't gotten your confirmation deposit in yet, you really should, to ensure that you have a seat. We will be taking standby names over our present seat allocation, on the assumption Amtrak will cough up some more space. Priorities will be assigned on a first come basis (date of receipt of deposit check). Our goal will be to update this Tab every day,so keep checking. Please continue to pass the word about our train plans. Even if our present Groups max out, we'll try another ploy. One tidbit- if you want to board our train North of the Group originating point (FTL or JAX) you can do so at no additional cost, just advise us before boarding time. Unfortunately, if you intend to board South of your Group boarding point, it will cost you an additional supplement paid to Amtrak directly. If you have any questions concerning the rail plans, either email us (act1fla@comcast.net) or respond to this Discussion.JerryB

  • hi - any trains planned for us in the northeast?
    thanks, carole
    • My understanding from Jerry is that anyone can form a group (minimum 20 people) and get this discount.
This Patriot Car is Amtrak's 98 Silver Meteor to DC and the 97 Silver Meteor returning to Florida. Anyone along the route could join in by making their own reservation thus paying the individual fare, or by forming their own group from a particular station on the route.
For the northeast, look at the state groups on http://912marchondc.ning.com/ and post your interest for your state.
It would be awesome if there were lots of Freedom Trains converging on DC for the Taxpayer March on Washington!
