"This was so wrong to put women in this position for epic fail. They had to show there is a big difference between combat arms training and basic. Most people had no idea. Well now you know thanks to the subhumans in the whitehouse that exploit women and say they are looking out for them. Just remember ladys. The democratic male is the one trying to get in the lifeboat before the kids."

And the failure rate is...

Both of the women Marine Corps Second Lieutenants who voluntarily enrolled in the basic Marine Corps Infantry Officer Course (IOC) were summarily dropped from the course during the first training day, as reported by The New York Times on March 29, 2013.

The two unidentified Marine Second Lieutenants were dismissed day one of the training schedule for failing the initial Combat Endurance Test, which as the title relates, gauges a potential infantry officer's both physical and mental endurance to the rigors of combat.

As the Business Insider described the IOC:

"The Marine Corps Infantry Officer Course is a grueling unapologetic machine, producing only a few hundred elite, light infantry officers per year."

The Drop Rate Is...

Thus far, only four female newly commissioned Marine Second Lieutenants have volunteered for the infantry since the Obama Administration allowed women to serve in direct combat Military Occupational Specialties (MOSs).

Of the two females who failed the most recent IOC, two others were enrolled last year.

Both of last year's women officers also flunked out of the course that would qualify a graduate as a basic infantry officer.

The failure rate for male Marines is roughly 20 percent.

The failure rate for female Marines remains at a steady 100 percent.

  • I do hope that the USMC never lowers their standards.  It would be a slap in the face to all former Marines.

    • I agree. GI Jane only makes it in the movies and not in real life.  My husband, USMC Capt. retired after 24 years certainly isn't an anti feminist but we both agree women have no business in combat roles.

      • I ALSO AGREE......DON'T WANT THEM IN THE KITCHEN, BUT I DON'T THINK THEY BELONG ON THE FRONT LINES...

    • I agree Steven, I hope they NEVER lower their standards. To do so would put people in harms way and that is not right. Lets hope they see the reality of all of this and stop the Politically Correctness in all of this crap.

  • Howdy.

i spent 15 years as a Marine and we DON'T place  our women Marines into a COMBAT ROLE, we have MORE RESPECT for them to want to see them all BLOWN TO HELL it's hard enough seeing your MEN end up like that.

but those PUSSY DEMOFAGS PINK PANTY POLITICIANS AND THEIR MEN HATING  BUTCH BUTT UGLY COUNTER PART SO CALLED FEMALES ARE THE REAL ENEMIES OF WOMEN.

and the Marine Corps is NOT THE ARMY and we will NOT LOWER OUR STANDARDS OR SUMMIT to some PANSY ASS POLITICIANS POLITICAL CORRECT VIEW OF FAIR PLAY especially WHEN PEOPLE LIVES IS THE PAYMENT.

    Semper Fi.

    Jim.

    • James, James, James..... stop beating around the bush and make your point!!!  JUST KIDDING!!!  I couldn't agree more!!!  As much as we want equality...........there REALLY are things that men do better.  AND....there REALLY are things that women do better!!!  If I have to, yes....I will shot to defend my self and my country!  But....there are better opportunities in the military for women that on the battle field!!!

      Brenda Herbert....you are correct too.

  • Steven, i agree with you. There are fundamental differences in men and women, thats just a fact. I feel putting women on the front lines is a very bad idea. MOST men, well alot of them anyway, have a natural desire to protect a woman in harms way. BUT, they also have the same feelings about protecting their brothers in arms. The diff is a man MIGHT put himself and others in harms way just because he mite think a woman cant protect herself. Not sure if that came out right or not, LOL. IMO, itll add more undue stress to an already highly stressful situation. IM NOT SAYING MEN ARE BETTER THAN WOMEN! Im saying both sexes have strengths and weakeness that the other doesnt have. Just MY opinion!
  • Maybe the Marines ought to take a look at Israel's Caracal Battalion, an infantry unit in the Israeli Defense Force. If I recall, it's 60% female, and they've done very well.

    • The United States Marine Corps is NOT a social experiment, and the United States is not Israel.

      • We can agree to disagree. I used to opposed to women being in combat until I talked to several friends in Israel and they mentioned the Caracals and how well they did. I'd never heard of them.

I don't think Israeli women are any different than Americans, or any tougher and I don't think the Israeli Defense Force is any softer than our military - they can't afford to be. If the women choose infantry, and can make the grade, they're accepted. And, as I mentioned, they've been in a couple of incidents along the Egyptian border and acquitted themselves very well.

Additionally, those women know they're putting a lot on the line. The muslim types they're up against are offended at facing women in battle and odds are if any of those women are caught, they're chances of survival border on zero. Yet, they volunteer and fight very well.
