  • Tomorrow is the day I plant the flags in the cemetery.  In the past it has been American flags on vets graves with a POW/MIA (the black one) on the POW graves.  However, it seems to me that Donald (whom some of you adore) has turned the tables on POWs.  Makes me want to do MORE for the 3 upon which I plant (in tears) the black flags.

I am sure even you Trumpsters see the issue.  Those of you who ID as Patriots, what do you think?  Am I in error to mark the sacrifice of my POW friends and family in some special way?  Is the Donald correct?  Is there shame to have been a POW?  In my (frank) opinion, I would place 100 flags on those POW graves.  Not because they deserve more celebration, but because some evil force seems to have taken over this patriot movement.  I now fear by placing these black flags I will be marking my loved ones graves to be vandalized, or worse.

I will place the flags on Sat., but will return Sunday and Monday to be sure they are not harmed.  That is - unless one of you has some alternative.  By the way, I place these flags with cooperation of the Legion.  They told me just to keep it up and keep politics out of it.

I just want these graves respected.  Even if I have to camp out graveside to be sure.  Suggestions?  Especially from Trumpsters.

    • There's no excuse for Trumps comments. Neither is there any excuse for Mccains longstanding opposition to releasing documents and information about American POW's still missing after the War. His anti disclosure campaign in cooperation with the Pentegon has kept thousands of documents that they have successfully legislated into secrecy. If he wanted to attack McCain he should of attacked him on those issues, not his POW status. And calling him a loser because he was a POW is inexcusable. But if your worried about people desecrating the graves your putting markers on because of Trumps statement, I wouldn't worry. If people are going to do that it's because they dislike the miltItary and those who paid the ultimate price. I commend you for taking the time to remember our Fallen.
  • Burnetta, Thank you for what you are doing there.
I'm not familiar with Trumps statement although I did probably hear it at some point. I agree with Mr. Regan here, and I think if Trump was attacking someone specifically it was a shot at John McCain, not all POW's. It's the heat of a hard political campaign and things get said in error all the time. Don't put too much stock in that one.

Also, if the legion says continue, then go with them on it. If you still have doubts - then place two flags on each one. And American flag and the typical black flag that you normally place.

And GOD bless you for what you are doing, thank you.
