The only reason for any kind of mission statement in this forum would be to have military experienced people take these values to their state pages and execute them in their proper place. Twana is an awesome organizer who is in the position to come to us for guidance for desicions on her part. It behooves us to make the members of our states to comply with a mission statement that they are to stay on topic and what ever else Twana or we consider important and in which order things should occur. This is a starting point for us and between Twana and us beating heads we could hammer out an effective mission statement, then start creating meaningful OPORDS and FRAGOS. Question do the state pages need chains of command? At the state levels how would training be accomplished? Would NCO's, like myself do the training while officers take responsibility for logistics and such?

  • I don't have the personal military experience to know military speed that well, can make out about 1/2 of it but obviously I'm not the one you're speaking to.

  • It should mirror the next higher level/echelon. If the level above state uses its NCO's to conduct the training, then I would have to say, the States should be doing the same. As in the Military, the Chain of Command must be seamless as can be to keep continuity and consistence throughout. Just my thoughts, but as a former Light Infantryman and NCO, I think it works well.

    • Steve I agree with you, we need a (SORM) Standard operating regulating manual, in order for our military vets to follow. In order to have discipline you must have a vision and an objective. I keep waiting for someone to step up and set this plan into action. Blessings

  • Thank you.

  • Yup, we are in the same boat, I have no more words....Just READY!!!!

  • Questions which need answering for a mission statement:

    1.  What is the mission of this group?

    2.  How do we accomplish this mission?

    3.  What are the rules of operation for the accomplishment of this mission?

    4.  Is all of the above put in simple, brief, terms?

    • Wingy, good questions. We need to determine the role or roles of groups like this one. Do we take leadership roles? Where should these leadership roles take us? I think they should be taken to our state pages and to our friends, families ETC...

We need to get our collective heads together and come up with a simple and easily adaptable plan that would come as close as possible to gather the troops around sound leaders then we can talk strategy and tactics.

  • An Organized group is a better prepared group, and as my car says "Actions speak louder than bumperstickers"

I started a small group with some highschool friends last month called North Star Patriots & Preppers Aliance. All of us have certain skills and/or training that will benefit our entire group as well as other who might join us. I made my group structured to be like a "Special Forces Team." I got some advice from a friend in PA who is a Green Beret/Special Forces Operator.  I took into account many things while planning the structure also. Everything from determining the best routes, where are the cleanest rivers, where are the best places to bugout..Even the locations of Correctional Facilities, power plants, and stores that carry supplies and gear.

I am an EMT/ Fire Fighter , and I am in college right now pursuing a degree in Gunsmithing. I have my advanced medical and emergency management responder skills, as well as skills repairing, cleaning and operating firearms.

Three Friends just came home from Overseas. two are Army Infantry, one is Air Force. They have weapons skills as well as a vast amount of skills that they learned in the Military that will be very valuable for the group when SHTF.

Another friend is an ASE certified mechanic with welding experience. Someone who can repair a disabled vehicle is a must have. Him and his father both are in my group. His father has 30 years of experience with building homes and woodworking.

We practice and train every weekend. We don't really have a "chain of command" but we have strategies and total organization. When SHTF, we will seek to be Force Multipliers. Finding other groups like ours to join up to form a bigger group.

Don, great post! Thank you for your service to our great Country!
