Nothing need be said.....Watch this.

To some of you this may not seem like much but to those of us who were in the service, had relatives in the service or family and friends lost in the service this is a very touching and poignant expression of respect, memory, and appreciation! Al

How many kids are even aware of "Normandy 1944?" This is truly impressive!

  • Normandy was named for the Normans which comes from Northman, or Viking, specifically William The Conqueror or the ........I'll just say illigitimate son, or professionally, prior to the Conquest of Saxon, Mercian, and Northumbrian lands now known as England, who was given it in return for the promise of not pillaging, by Carolingian Charlemagne's descendant, before the Frankish Empire's downspiral.

The U.S. worked with Britain under prime minister Churchill, the Free French, then led by Charles DeGaule, and the New Zealander/Canadian/Australian forces.

Patton had already lost favor with Supreme Commander Eisenhower, having slapped a shell-shocked soldier at Sicily, the FORMERLY biggest amphibious invasion, which left Omar Bradley in charge of American forces, and Eisenhower commanding all Allied forces. Montgomery was happy as Patton and he had many fueds. Patton was an offensive-style commander, the British Bernard Montgomery was a defensive strategist.

Patton would lead a deceptive campaign with fake, inflatable tanks that left trail marks in the sand, called Operation Fortitude, to make the Nazis believe we were planning to attack, more up north on the shore where their infamous Atlantik Wall was deployed. Hitler, a stupid wannabe commander, put all his forces and all his backups in the worst possible places, leaving for disaster. The Omaha beach still remains the bloodiest of all the Normandy beaches.

Patton later led the push into Nazi Germany from the West, as the Soviets led the Russians into Germany from the East. Well...............Hitler wanted a two-front war...he got it.

that's all just from memory, for the record.

  • If only more people had the fortitude and willingness of that boy!! This is the most moving and just best video I have seen.
