A chilling report from the Foreign Military Intelligence Directorate (GRU) prepared for Prime Minister Putin warns today that United States President Barack Obama has had served on 14 US Governors National Security Letters (NSLs) warning that if their actions in attempting to form what are called State Defense Forces are not halted they will face “immediate” arrest for the crime of treason.

The use of NSLs in the United States was authorized by the Patriot Act law enacted after the September 11, 2001 attacks and forbids anyone receiving them from even acknowledging their existence, and was reauthorized by Obama’s “rubberstamp” Congress this past February over the objections of both civil and human rights groups who warned they mimic similar type “government security notices” enacted under both the former German Nazi and Soviet Communist regimes.

To the issue angering Obama against these State Governors, this report continues, is their attempt to reestablish what are called State Defense Forces which are described as follows:

“State Defense Forces (SDF) (also known as State Guards, State Military Reserves, or State Militias) in the United States are military units that operate under the sole authority of a state government; they are not regulated by the National Guard Bureau nor are they part of the Army National Guard of the United States.

can you clarify this? are the states creating state controlled militias or is this a result of the patriot act and this creates another special miltary force to b e controlled by the feds?

Phil, if you follow the links within the story you can research your state to see if it has a State Defense Force or militia. I wasn't aware of it either but my state has had one for many years. It has nothing to do with the patriot act and actually is there to replace the National Guard in the event that they are called up for duty by the federal government. Hope that helped.

@ Johnny Smith - Texas has a Defense force; however I spoke with a militia friend down here who told me that it was basically an impotent piece of work; a vehicle  wherein certain Kudos were conferred upon  various "DeSeRvInG People" by the Governor naming them as Colonels and Majors etc. Now that was an oppinion.  I've been trying to get folks to get the sheriffs on Sheriff Macks site and they would/could then deputize militia people who could in turn train us out here to be deputized.  SEE: http://wramsite.com/profiles/blogs/the-texas-militia-assistance-and...  so you will see a revealing dialogue. I am kinda ne here am I am just wondering a few things and had a few comments to add. Who are you that another group has to justify anything they do to you esp if it doesnt involve you. This really looks like one person being mad about having to take a class which could help his community by acting like a buffer between FEMA and the community. What diffrence does it make if what that a group calls them selfs? Does it really matter? The Texas militia and the Texas Defense Force are two seperate orginizations. Maybe a little research could help you out here. If a unit, fire team, group or what ever has requirements for entering that unit and you do not meet nor agree with them then move on and again I ask the question: who are you that they have to justify themselfs to you.......etc.   Who's on first What's on Second, etc.
