PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. -- The rise of conservative "tea party" activists around the country has created a dilemma for Republicans. They are breathing life into the party's quest to regain power. But they're also waging war on some candidates hand-picked by GOP leaders as the most likely to win.
Just for the purpose of discussion, not a criticism by any means, but why do We The People care if the "tea parties" cause a dilemma for the Republicans? They also totally failed us, they voted in bills without reading them, they sat back and did nothing to stop the stomping of our Constitution, they voted in their own ridiculous raises, they voted in their own ridiculous health care and pension plans. I should think the "tea parties" and other activities We The People are doing would be spurring the GOP leaders (if there really were any qualified to lead) to be making the major changes needed, which is in remembering they work for us, we don't work for them. Just my opinion, worth exactly what you paid for it, but added for thoughtful discussion.
Some of the Republican Congressmen saw in the Tea Partys a chance to promote their reelection campaigns a year ahead of the usual schedule but many of them were just as dismayed as the Democrats when the Tea Partyers showed-up at the "Town Hall Meetings" during the summer because they realise that the voters anger can be directed at them as well.
There is some talk about forming another party independent of the Republican hierarchy, Click Underlined Link:
