It's about paranoid schizophrenia. This is what we Have to Acknowledge and Deal with. Many of us know of someone with it, and we also know how destructive it is, to the individuals and to the families and neighbors.

The Tucson tragedy unfolded in the space of only a few minutes on Saturday, January 8, 2011.

Lone Gunman fires into crowd at political event, killing six, wounding thirteen, including U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, who was critically injured.

Many in the media spotted a twisted opportunity in the story – driven to senseless violence by right-wing rhetoric, 22-year-old drop-out turns a semi-automatic Glock handgun on a small gathering of innocents in a Tucson parking lot.

Bang, pop-pop-pop, ad infinitum. Dead people and wounded everywhere, blood, screams. What a great set-up for left-wing propagandists bent on any opportunity to smear the conservatives who trashed their pride and dismantled their power structure in 2010.

It was a natural for mainstream and left-wing media organizations. If you can see the dividing line between the two, call me collect. I want to know.

Newsrooms across America went gleefully to press. Television news flashes blared their scheme that Jared Lee Loughner was an unwitting tool of far right radical groups and individuals.

The favorite story line was that the young man lost it after being driven to the brink by bigoted and hate-laced tirades from conservative activists in the popular  tea party political movement.

That was all most of these thinly-disguised “news” outfits needed and many ran with it, deceitfully blaming conservatives – tea partiers, Christians, Republicans, and average American citizens, for inciting the gunman to attack on that unremarkable Saturday  in Tucson.

We didn’t go along. The blame game was too convenient, too easy, too fraught with political self-serving motives to be accurate and honest.

While most of the media at every level stuck to the story line du jour, we bolted in the opposite direction – attacking the hyped-up “right-wing zealotry” theory aggressively.

I’m not a politician, not an organization power player, not a professional sleuth. I’m a conservative Christian Republican writer and investigative journalist. I write good stuff. My posts, when tackling especially controversial political topics, draw the ire of Democrats, liberals, pro-abortionists, big spenders, atheists, communists – what else is there?

Muslims, of course. But they mostly stay under the radar — unless they are grousing about some perceived cultural snub. They have not acknowledged  our CTN series on why “moderate” U.S. Muslims do not condemn their radical jihadist brothers and sisters. That series will be revived soon. There’s a lot of expose and rant about there.

What I’m saying is that I don’t mind going out on a limb. Sometimes there’s a lot of heat. But I expect it. I’m here to stir it up. I enjoy the action.

On the subject of Tucson, and who primed Jared Loughner’s pump, our premise, first advanced in a January 10 column, was that Loughner was driven to launch the Tucson attack by mental delusions and insanity associated with paranoid schizophrenia.

He has not yet been found to have this frightful disorder, and our belief that insanity was at the root of the killing spree has not yet been established by medical authorities.

But it will be. The trail left by paranoid schizophrenia is unmistakable. I know. My younger brother’s mind, health, promise and entire life were wrecked by paranoid schizophrenia. We saw it come upon him, take him prisoner, and over a period of twenty years grind him down to an early death in a North Carolina rest home.

My parents and my older brother knew this disease because we lived with it, observed its progression, knew and were familiar with every symptom, and struggled – ultimately in vain – to snatch him from its clutches.

Having seen this, experienced this, lived this, along with my wonderful family, I know paranoid schizophrenia. I can’t scientifically diagnose it, devise a strategy of treatment to manage it, or save one who has it.

But through years of uneasy familiarity with this destructive mental malady, I recognize, deplore and fear it.

In my commentaries about the Tucson mass murders, I knew that madness, not inflammatory speech, was at the core of the killing and mayhem, as I wrote in my first post about it on January 10, two days after the bloody melee took place:

What Loughner did was ghastly, and the anger and incredulous emotions that have erupted are justified. But these intense feelings are misdirected. They should not be directed at the tea party, or Sarah Palin, or any political persuasion – or even the “alleged” shooter (we must be politically correct, mustn’t we?)

The 22-year-old drop-out and loner was and is sick. Desperately sick. Not sick in the sense of being a warped political lunatic. Sick with a disease which makes him unfit to wander about in the world of the sane.

I will be surprised, therefore, if it is not found that Loughner was a clear threat and could have been stopped long ago, and helped long ago, by being discovered as a ticking time bomb.

No one can say with assurance that an individual like this will kill or attempt to kill. But in this day and age, many opportunities to defuse this prospect existed, and should have been noticed.

My brother never killed anyone, and thank God for that, nor did he ever offer clear evidence that he might be such a threat. But he heard voices, thought the FBI, the CIA and the KGB were shadowing him, and wrote fantastic and often unintelligible statements which he sent to the newspapers, to prominent political figures, and others he knew personally.

The disease ruined his life, his marriage, and brought untold grief to my father and mother, as well as to my brother and me. I cherish the memory of Bruce’s good years. There were too few of them.

This is an excerpt from my Carolina Talk Network post on January 11:

Nothing that I have heard since those “first reaction” reports dissuades me from my gut instinct that Loughner was and is mad, allegedly embarking on a senseless Tucson killing spree ignited by paranoid schizophrenia.

When I learned about Jared Loughner’s actions and symptoms, then of the brazen attempts by liberals to blame conservative Americans with complicity in the Tucson attacks, I may have been more aware than most that the suspected shooter was clearly a sick, insane individual — a loose cannon.

An immediate attempt by left-wing censors and obstructionists to obscure the obvious had the temporary effect of throwing the discussion off track – allowing liberal propagandists at first to claim the high ground.

But it couldn’t work – and it didn’t.

This was followed up by our Carolina Talk Network post for Friday, January 14, where the objective of this series was summarized:

IF IT IS FOUND AND PROVEN THAT JARED LOUGHNER IS INSANE, SPECIFICALLY SUFFERING FROM PARANOID SCHIZOPHRENIA, THE COURTS SHOULD RESPOND ACCORDINGLY.

HE WILL NOT BE PUT TO DEATH. HE WILL LIKELY NOT GO TO “PRISON”. HE WILL SPEND THE REMAINDER OF HIS DAYS UNDER LOCK AND KEY  IN AN INSTITUTION FOR THE CRIMINALLY INSANE. WE WOULD HOPE.

WITH SUCH AN OUTCOME, ARE ANY OF US DENIED SATISFACTION FOR HEINOUS AND SENSELESS ACTS — PUNISHMENT BEFITTING THE CRIME? NO. OF COURSE NOT.

CONSERVATIVES SHOULD LOOK AT THIS AS A GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY TO SHUT THE DOOR ON THE RAILING RADICALS WHO HAVE USED THIS EPIC WRONG TO DISCREDIT HONEST AND PATRIOTIC AMERICAN CONSERVATIVES.

IN SO DOING, THESE DISINGENUOUS HATE-MONGERS HAVE COMMITTED THEIR OWN GRAVE SIN. IT MUST NOT BE DIGNIFIED BY INACTION.

CONSERVATIVES SHOULD RALLY AND PRESSURE THE LEGAL SYSTEM TO MOVE AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE TO DETERMINE THE TRUE MENTAL STATE OF DEFENDANT JARED LEE LOUGHNER.

IF A TEAM OF EMINENTLY QUALIFIED DOCTORS DETERMINES THAT THE DEFENDANT HAS DONE THE BIDDING OF VOICES EMANATING FROM THE HELLISH PIT OF PARANOID SCHIZOPHRENIA — NOT FROM THE THROATS OF RABID LEFT-WING KOOKS — THESE MUCK-RAKERS MAY BE SHAMED AND SILENCED.

THAT WOULD BE A MAJOR VICTORY FOR AMERICA, TOTAL EXONERATION OF OUR CONSERVATIVE MOVEMENT, AND A STAKE IN THE HEART OF UNBRIDLED LIBERALISM.

I AM ENCOURAGED BY FRIENDS I KNOW AND RESPECT THAT THIS CAN BE DONE, AND THAT IT IS WORTH DOING. I BELIEVE THIS.

TO FAIL AT THIS MEANS THAT FREEDOM OF SPEECH WILL BE DENIED BY SELECTIVE DECREE TO ALL WHO ARE NOT DEEMED WORTHY — ENEMIES OF THE STATE. WE IN THE CONSERVATIVE MOMENT ARE VULNERABLE TO THIS CENSORSHIP.

More celebrated, experienced and talented political commentators than me agree that Jared Laughner is a victim of paranoid schizophrenia, and it is comforting to know that I am not out here alone.

Here is a story I found reassuring and in full agreement with the theory I believe will be picked up and taken seriously  – hopefully routing the liberal propagandists and silencing their lies.

On Fox News Monday evening (Jan. 10), columnist Charles Krauthammer said, “The way that some have manipulated and exploited this — particularly those on the left — is truly scurrilous.”

He pointed to comments by Dupnik and Rep. James Clyburn, D-S.C. that implied that Loughner might have been influenced by rhetoric to begin shooting at Giffords and others on Saturday.

“There is not a shred of evidence that the shooter, the gunman, was influenced in any way by Sarah Palin, by the Tea Party, by opposition to health care,” Krauthammer said.

On Tuesday night’s Bill O’Reilly program, Krauthammer said without equivocation, “Loughner suffers from paranoid schizophrenia.”

In conclusion, while the odds are that Loughner will be found to be suffering from the delusional effects and rages typical of paranoid schizophrenia, this reasonable finding may be summarily dismissed by liberal politicians, who would much prefer to have a right-wing straw man to pummel at will and parade before the public.

Their end game is to make enough noise to force revisions to American’s First Amendment Rights – with the real target conservative talk show hosts, political commentators, and movements such as the tea party activists.

That, in the final analysis, includes every American whose political loyalties are anywhere to right of center. There are a lot people out there. I’m there too.

  • Never ever trust a marxists.
  • anybody remember the d.c snipers and how the media had its hopes up that it was a couple of white males.then it was found it was two black males one jamaican and one muslim that depressed their whole lifes LMAO

oh and the police dept there knew three days in advance where they lived and who they were??

    • Judge Roll could not have been the target.  He was not scheduled to appear with Giffords at her event; he stopped by to speak to her after Mass on Saturday morning.  She had been on Loughner's short list since at least 2008 when he asked her a question at a similar event and then didn't like her answer.  He was obssessed with her.
  • I continue to be amazed that ther are two important stories with this massacre that contineu to be ignored.

1)Man has no greater love....a 76 year old man pushed his wife to the ground and lays on top of her to save her life and this act of love is barely mentioned.

2)We have a liberal political meeting in a liberal town sheriffed by a liberal sheriff and a crazed liberal shoots a liberal congress woman because she is not liberal enough....wow.

Then the liberals want to blame someone...anyone else.

  • These comments should be read by everyone, but they won't be. It doesn't matter to those like Dupnik and Clyburn, they just look for things to slam Patriots with. They are part of the socialistic/communist program. Was it not Clyburn that thought that with the Marines coming to Guam that it would capsize sending thousands to their watery grave? What idiots we have in Government.
    • Ya, how come this guy Clyburns is not in a hospital receiving treatment, or at least a refresher course in 1st grade geography "how Islands are made" What morons we have running this country.
  • This is new? This is NOT new. It's one of the oldest plays in the Leftist playbook.

Does anyone remember the MSM's hateful chorus of blame after Oklahoma City? Billy Jeff Clinton was at the head of the pack, blaming Rush Limbaugh and the rest of the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy.

And even as the bodies cooled from each mass public shooting, from Long Island Rail Road (a White and American-hating black immigrant at fault), Appalachian School of Law Shootings (another Black, American-hating immigrant), VT (Cho, an American-hating East-Asian) and every school shooting (kids strung out on Prozac, Ritalin, Luxox & other SSRI's), the Holocaust Museum shooting * ....

The Left NEVER let the truth get in the way of their narrative.

They are dastardly liars and accusers. They are beneath contempt.

It's a shame we have to share the country with them. After all, they seem to hate it so much.

  • And then when he is placed in an isolated area he can become another Test subject for a plethora of medical experiments that will be propogated for Federal Funding to find a cure for a number of Psycoactive drugs .. And then there is the topic of how the government will also be in control of monitoring his and the medical staffs ability in all sorts of new drugs that wil come on the market as the saving grace for a wide variety of disorders and diseases.

Think this is far fetched? Well there are reports now that there are ten very well know drugs that are on the market that instead of curbing violence actually cause people to act violent.

Study reveals top ten violence-inducing prescription drugs

    • Earl, exactly right. They even make up new diseases in the pshychiatric field for the new drugs. If they could they would have us all on some drug. Never just take a drug that the Doctor prescribes, Do your research for your own safety.

  •    I have a friend who is afflicted with paranoid schizophrenia. He is a good guy but he does hear voices. and when his meds quit working..  he immediately commits himself to an institution until they can find something that works. He was once accused of murder and is not sure himself whether he did it or not. I cannot even imagine living like that. I think Loughner displayed many of the symptoms and have said that since i heard the news about him. The left will never quit trying to defame the right, no matter what they find in the Loughner case. We know they want to silence us. We will not sit down and shut up. PERIOD!!
