It's just mind boggling that people allow themselves to ignore simple facts when those facts conflict with their emotional preferences. Rubio is not a "natural born Citizen" as understood by the Founders and required by the Constitution. Any candidate for President who is a bona fide Constitutionally oriented conservative would not consider him as a viable VP choice. If we have to go over and over that fact on this forum of supposedly enlightened conservatives how in the world will that distinction ever mean anything to the average voter?

My sentiments exactly.... if there was ever a topic I am tired of writing about, it is this one. This is SO fundamental to our Founding principles and values that if we cannot right this wrong, there is NO hope of addressing any other constitutional assaults.
I am sick of this topic.... but someone has to keep pushing the truth out in this sea of lies we call America.

Having read the whole attachment most of which I already knew and having read the Supreme Court decision of 1879, Happersatt vs Minor, which clearly defines Natural Born Citizen. I agree that if Romney picks Rubio as his VP it will cost him the election. I do not know a Tea Party member or Constitutional Conservative who will vote for Romney if Rubio is his choice. I will vote 3 rd party myself. As a US Army and Vietnam Combat Veteran I swore an oath to protect and defend the US Constitution against all enemies both foreign and domestic. I cannot in good conscience vote to violate that oath.

We have got to stop this crap of continually weakening the Constitution by saying that because one bunch of ass holes did something unconstitutional we will be able to get away with the same thing and that will be OK. That , in fact, will make us bigger ASS HOLES than the original violators. If this happens and they are allowed to get away with it , then the only solution will be to physically take the country back from those in both parties that are following this bunch of bull shit.

I fail to understand what is so difficult about the term Natural Born Citizen, unless our politicians are so stupid they do not want to understand. Simply put, there are two definitions for Citizen. Anybody running for political office, other than president or vice-president, need only to be a citizen. On the other hand, for president and vice-president, they need to be a natural born citizen. If the requirement for simply citizen referred to the president, then there would not have been two different requirements for these two different offices. Simple.
