“The Problem of Whiteness” is a new course being offered by the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2017.

According to the online overview of the course objectives, students will be taught “what it really means to be white.” The overview also mentions that the “Critical Whiteness Studies aims to understand how whiteness is socially constructed and experienced in order to help dismantle white supremacy.”

The course description begins with a quote by Richard Wright who said “There is no Negro problem in the United States, there’s only a white problem.”

Further into the course description it states that “White supremacy was created by white people.” It also poses the following question, “Is it not white folks who have the greatest responsibility to eradicate it?”

During the course, students will explore how white people “consciously and unconsciously perpetuate institutional racism,” which they insist affects “communities of color.”

Professor and Ph.D Damon Sajnani will teach the class.

This class will supposedly go through “what it means to be #woke, and consider the journal Race Traitor’s motto, ‘treason to whiteness is loyalty to humanity’.”

Associate professor and Ph.D Damon Sajnani, a former Canadian artist who is known for rapping about social issues and global politics, is slated to teach the class that will meet the university’s ethnic studies requirement to graduate.

Campus Reform noted the effects of exaggerating the racial tensions as students began selling anti-white and anti-police hoodies, with slogans like “All White People Are Racists” and encouraging brutality against the police.
