Today, the United States of America lost a great warrior for God and country.  Richard Van Waes, a US Navy veteran and Founder of Veteran Defenders of America was delivered into God’s hands after losing a long battle with lung disease.  I have never known a more dedicated patriot, consummate warrior and true friend.  I will truly miss his intensity of purpose, sage advice, organizational skills and encouragement for his fellow workers and leaders.

He is with God now, but his legacy as a leader will remain with us forever.  I pray all you veterans will join me in wishing Richard Godspeed.  Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Joyce and his family at this time of sorrow.  Go to God in peace Richard Van Waes.  You have served your God and your country well oh good and faithful servant.

Colonel Jim Harding USAF Retired National Spokesman Veteran Defenders of America.

These are Richard’s own words: “As veterans, we swore to uphold the Constitution of the United States of America and to defend it against all enemies, both foreign and domestic. Quite simply, unlike any period in our long history, our freedoms are in jeopardy. Our domestic borders have been silently invaded with people who intend to harm us. There are thousands of terrorists and terror cells within the United States borders who have one goal as their agenda - the destruction of America as we know it. This simply cannot take place.

You, as a veteran, have training, skills and experience that uniquely enable you to prepare your family and community in the event of disasters, either natural or man-made. REMEMBER, we ALL can contribute some of our skilled training, in some small way. Together, we are a strong force.

May God bless you, your family and our nation. The time is now, join us.”  Richard Van Waes, Founder

  • Richard Van Waes will be remembered for what he said to veteran.  They have the training skills and experience to prepare for disasters either natural or man-made.  Together retired veterans are a force that can save this country.  Now is the time for them to rise up, organize the patriots and lead us to victory over the take over of our country by obozo and his band of thieves and thugs.

  • May God comfort his family. Thank you for the time you gave up to permit him to protect our country, and then he continued, Thank God for him and his dedication.

  • Eternal Rest grant unto him O Lord and let Thy Perpetual Light shine upon him, may his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace.  Amen
