Wednesday I was privileged to attend two tea parties. Our Tea Party here in my hometown in Kerrville during the lunch hour and then in the car and down to San Antonio for their little shin-dig!. Both events exceeded expectations. We did well! Somewhere around 1000 in Kerrville in a peaceful and orderly protest with horns honking and people expressing their views about the current economic and social climate we are in. Non partisan and inclusive. Young and old alike. In San Antonio they had 15000+ in attendance and again a peaceful and well-behaved group. While there were some dissenters, the organizers had plenty of security to deal with them. Glenn Beck did his tv show live from the Alamo and thousands stood in the hot sun just to be a part of his audience. Ted Nugent gave a rockin' rendition of the Star Spangled Banner and was typical gun-lovin', outspoken Nugent. Local radio talk show host, Joe Pags was on hand with his live show and then at 6pm the tea party began. The speakers all delivered one message: This is the beginning of something and it is up to us as individuals to make his move forward. We are to hold our representatives responsible and make sure they remember they work for us. This will require a proactive approach from the local level all the way to D.C. and we MUST be the fire that is held to their feet.So where do we go from here? FORWARD -----> Talk to your friends, family, church members, community members and get active! Sitting on your rear waiting for someone else to "do something" isn't going to work. We absolutely must let our government know that if they want to keep their jobs, they had better begin to DO their jobs or they are fired!
