This post is going to be a little different from the others in SOFREP’s Women’s Self Defense series.  Namely, this post will deal with some of the laws of last resort and some of the brutal realities associated with a woman who is confronted with sexual assault.  This isn’t going to be pretty, so fair warning, because the crime itself is an ugly thing.  However, I feel I owe our readers honesty and integrity.  There are so-called “women’s self defense” experts out there who tell women to comply with their attacker because otherwise he might hurt them.  These people are criminally negligent and do a huge disservice to those who may have to fend of an attacker.

It’s your life and you only get one.  Once someone initiates violence against you the gloves come off.  Whatever you do to repel that attack becomes justified and a woman is no longer obligated to follow the traditional laws of society.  You don’t have to be nice, you don’t have to be proper, all you have to do is survive.

Conceal Carry

My take on Sarah Brady and her ilk: they are anti-woman.  Here is why, a woman’s best chance at defending herself against a rapist is to pull a gun and shoot his ass dead.  That’s the bottom line.  A lot of women’s self defense tactics and techniques involve various forms of hand to hand combat, some more effective than others.  Having a technique, even a bad one, is better than no technique at all but the fact is that when a woman is faced with an attacker twice her body weight a lot of those kung-fu chops are going to be ineffective.  A woman’s best chance at surviving this type of encounter is the effective use of a handgun.

I’m six feet tall and weigh 180 pounds.  If I had to fight another man who was twice my size the god’s honest truth is that if I get punched once or twice in the face then I’m probably going down for the count.

Be like Batwoman and have a few party favors in your utility belt

People like Sarah Brady who seek to put restrictions on the second amendment do a disservice to women everywhere by making them more vulnerable.  Learn how to safely and effectively carry a concealed handgun, get a permit, do carry it.  If a man tells you that you can’t handle a firearm, ever a larger caliber like a .45, go ahead and slap that monkey in the face

This article is a good wake up call, as I used to be involved in teaching woman's self defense from a marshal arts stand point, and the first thing that was taught was to BE AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS! So many people walk around in there own little world that extends no more that 3 to 4 feet in front of them and have no concept of whats beside or behind them until its too late.

Ladies, train yourself to look around, for example when you walk out into the parking lot don't just look where your next step is going to be, LOOK AROUND, ACROSS THE PARKING LOT, TO THE LEFT AND RIGHT, ASSESS THE THREAT LEVEL, HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE AROUND WHAT ARE THEY DOING? DO THEY POSE A POSSIBLE THREAT.

TRAIN YOURSELF TO LOOK AT REFLECTIONS IN GLASS. FOR EXAMPLE THE GLASS ON THE FRONT OF THE STORE IS NOTHING MORE THAN A LARGE REVIEW MIRROR.

Now for some soft spots, there's the old tried and true groin strike, elbow to the side of the head, a good punch in the throat, the ever deadly upper palm strike to the nose, a good stomp to the top of ones foot feels real good as does a thumb jabbed into ones eye, also a front kick, or more of a stomp to the forward leg of an oncoming attacker in the area of the shin just below the knee, this technique dislocates the knee and is very painful this will put an attacker on the ground immediately and in need of 911. If you stomp on his neck at this point it will kill him.( however this is not recommended) These are all very effective technique's if taught by a qualified instructor and practiced until second nature.

There are many technique's that can be learned and used very easily and there are many marshal arts instructors that can teach these to you in a very short time, (in my opinion well worth the $) the class we used to teach was six weeks long a couple of nights a week and the woman leaving there I felt very confident that they could now take care of themselves and I "pity the poor fool" that would mess with them. (As I was there practice dummy, even I knew what was coming, there attackers won't, and are in for a big surprise!)

Of course these days my favorite technique is "Click Bang"

If your weapon of choice is an handgun be sure to become proficient with it. Get proper training. Learn to shoot and handle it UNLOAD IT and practice whipping it out and pulling the trigger. DON'T JUST BUY A HAND GUN, PUT IT IN YOUR PURSE AND THINK YOUR GOOD. YOUR NOT! UNLESS YOUR LEARN TO HANDLE IT... LIKE PUTTING ON MAKE UP IN THE MIRROR WHILE DRIVING.

Self defense, no matter which method you chose MUST BECOME SECOND NATURE.
