Republican Nikki Haley continues to hold a double-digit lead over Democratic State Senator Vincent Sheheen in South Carolina’s race for governor.

The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Voters in the state shows Haley with 49% support. Sheheen picks up 35% of the vote. Four percent (4%) like another candidate in the race, and 12% remain undecided.

Both candidates have less support this month than they did a month ago.

Haley, a state legislator, captures 82% of the GOP vote, while Sheheen earns just 68% of Democrats. Voters not affiliated with either party prefer the Republican by a 48% to 34% margin.

Only seven percent (7%) of voters in South Carolina describe the economy as good. Fifty-nine percent (59%) say it’s poor. Twenty-two percent (22%) believe the economy is getting better, but 47% say it’s getting worse.

Sheheen picks up 68% support from voters who say the economy is getting better. Haley gets identical support (68%) from those who believe it is getting worse.

Sixty-nine percent (69%) of voters in the state say the United States is in a recession.

Thirty-three percent (33%) rate their personal finances as good or excellent, but 20% say their finances are poor. Seventeen percent (17%) think their own finances are getting better, while 44% say they are worsening.

The survey of 500 Likely Voters in South Carolina was conducted on July 29, 2010 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 4.5 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC. See methodology.

Sixty-one percent (61%) of South Carolina voters favor repeal of the national health care bill, while 34% are opposed. This includes 52% who Strongly Favor repeal and 25% who Strongly Oppose it. This is even higher support for repeal than is found nationally.

Fifty-nine percent (59%) of voters in the state favor passage of an immigration law like Arizona’s in South Carolina, similar to support nationally. Twenty percent (20%) oppose such a law.

By a two-to-one margin, South Carolina voters disagree with the U.S. Justice Department’s decision to challenge the Arizona law in federal court.

Sixty percent (60%) say a child born in this country to a mother who is an illegal immigrant should not automatically become a U.S. citizen, as is currently the law.

Twenty-eight percent (28%) of all voters in South Carolina now hold a Very Favorable opinion of Haley, down slightly from the previous survey. Twelve percent (12%) view her Very Unfavorably.

Sheheen is viewed Very Favorably by 24% and Very Unfavorably by 15%.

At this point in a campaign, Rasmussen Reports considers the number of people with a strong opinion more significant than the total favorable/unfavorable numbers.

Forty percent (40%) now approve of the job President Obama is doing, while 58% disapprove of his performance. This is higher disapproval than Obama earns nationally in the Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll.

Forty-six percent (46%) approve of Sanford’s job performance as governor, but 50% disapprove.

Lindsey Graham: Portrait Of A Principled Idiot

I really did not want to write a second article in a one month about Senator Lindsey Graham considering he is from South Carolina and I am from Pennsylvania. But I must. He is forcing my hand.

I have got to hand it to the Senator. He certainly is principled. Sitting in his seat on the Senate Judiciary Committee, Senator Graham decided to vote in favor of moving the nomination of Elena Kagan, President Obama’s latest nominee to the United States Supreme Court, out of committee. Senator Graham says that elections have consequences and this is why he crossed over and voted with the Democrats. Thus, in his mind, he is saying that because President Obama is sitting in the White House The President should get his nominee.

But while being principled he is also an idiot. He is an idiot because he is ignoring the fact that he was also elected. And he was elected by a constituency that vehemently opposes another left wing radical being placed upon the Supreme Court. His excuse to vote for Kagan is nothing more than the ramblings of an ill mind that is looking for justification to do something he wants to do anyway. Because if he really believed what he said about the consequences of elections he would be telling Obama that his constituents elected him to stand in the way of the further leftward march of America.

But he is not doing this because he does not really believe in his own excuse.

Senator Graham even said that there were, “100 reasons,” for him to vote against this nominee. But he tosses those, “100 reasons,” out the window because he wants to further Kagan’s nomination and get her seated upon the Supreme Court. There is, to be blunt, no other reason for his action.

Most people would say if there is one reason for something with 100 reasons against doing that thing that the 100 reasons would outweigh the one and the action in question would not be taken. Not Senator Graham though.

Yes, Mr. Graham, elections do have consequences. You, for example, were elected to the United States Senate. The United States Senate is tasked with the role of advice and consent over the President’s judicial nominees. That role was given to the Senate to ensure that a President would not appoint unqualified persons to the bench. The scope of who these unqualified persons are ranges widely from a President’s own relatives with no judicial experience to someone who is mentally incompetent to a wacko who could not care less about the United States Constitution, upholding limited government and keeping the Congress and the President in check.

The election of Senator Graham to a role in the Senate where he is supposed to act as a check and a balance is apparently not a consequential event if we are to believe the Senator’s own words and compare them with his actions. To Senator Graham the only election that matters in this case is the election of President Obama. To me this seems very convenient for the Senator and very inconvenient for America. Does this now mean that Lindsey Graham will support any law in Congress that President Obama supports? After all, elections have consequences, right, Senator?

Saying you are being principled is one thing. But getting tied up in knots so as to only selectively apply the principles you claim to hold dear makes you a principled idiot. What Mr. Graham is showing is that even a fool can have the courage of his wrongly conceived convictions.

He is the truth. And it is a truth that needs to be impressed upon Senator Graham.

Elena Kagan was nominated by President Obama because he sees her as someone that will help further his goals. President Obama’s goals are to strip us further of our liberties, act in an extra constitutional manner and turn America into a land where top down government control is the norm of our existence. I know, I know, liberals protest at such a blunt portrayal of what they believe in. They will swear that such is not the case. But tell me honestly, has anything that they have done proven that my description is not accurate? No.

Ms. Kagan, once on the bench, will rule, repeatedly and often, to further these desires. And when she does, each and every time she does, there will be people clearly responsible for these rulings. First and foremost will be Ms. Kagan herself. Next on the list will be President Obama. Following him will be all the goofy Democrats in the Senate who would not know the Constitution if it was put in front of them with a big neon flashing sign saying, “Constitution,” and who will rubber stamped this nomination. But behind all these sorry souls will be none other than Senator Lindsey Graham. Behind Mr. Graham will be any other Republican that votes to confirm her in the full Senate such as Susan Collins and Dick Lugar who have both voiced support for this horrid candidate for the nation’s highest court.

And because of your role in this matter, Mr. Graham, you will be just as responsible for the destruction of this country as all the rest who were previously named. But you are too interested in being a principled idiot to care.

Help Stop the Government Takeover of the Internet.
Contact Congress Now!

Dear Fellow Conservative,
Let me get right to the point. We need your help!
The Obama Administration is moving full steam ahead with its plans to take over every sector of the U.S. economy. First it was the auto industry, then the health care, energy and financial sectors.
And now, the Obama Administration is advancing a plan for a government takeover of the Internet, too
That's right. On April 6th, a federal appeals court in Washington, D.C. made it clear that under current law the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has absolutely no legal authority to impose stifling and unnecessary regulations on the Internet. But instead of accepting the court's ruling, President Obama and his pals at the FCC announced recently that they are just going to ignore it.
Specifically, the administration's plan now is to quickly side step Congress and arbitrarily change the law so that they can regulate the Internet using arcane rules written in the 1930s for outdated telephone lines.
The FCC's announcement has already flooded the financial markets with uncertainty. And, if Obama's scheme to take over the Internet is successful, the result is sure to stifle Internet innovation, cost American jobs and bring to a halt the billions of dollars in private investment that American broadband companies are investing in high speed Internet networks.
Take Action Now. Urge Congress to
Stop the Government Takeover of the Internet
The folks at MoveOn.org and other ultra-liberal organizations are euphemistically calling the regulations that will lead to a government takeover of the Internet "Net Neutrality."
Don't be fooled. "Net Neutrality" is anything but neutral. Indeed, it is an unnecessary solution in search of a major problem.
Specifically, Net Neutrality regulations, as proposed by President Obama's Federal Communications Commission, would virtually eliminate broadband companies' ability to manage their own networks, prevent web congestion and provide consumers with a safe, secure and reliable connection to the Internet.
As the editors of The Wall Street Journal recently wrote, "FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski did their dirty work this week by announcing that he plans to reclassify broadband lines so his agency can regulate them under rules that were written for Ma Bell in the 1930s. This means subjecting the Internet to new political supervision--from the federal government and 50 state public utility commissions. The goal is to put one more industry under Washington's political thumb."
Why make government bureaucrats in Washington the gatekeepers of one of the few bright spots of our nation's struggling economy - an Internet sector that continues to innovate, thrive, create jobs and provide enormous benefit for consumers?
Urge Congress to Stop the
Government Takeover of the Internet Now!
Proponents of so-called "Net Neutrality" believe that all Internet infrastructure and online content should constitute public property - owned, operated and regulated by the government.
And if the Obama Administration is successful in its efforts to commandeer the Internet's infrastructure, you better believe they will move to regulate Internet content next.
Perhaps that's why Representative Marsha Blackburn appropriately calls Net Neutrality, "The Fairness Doctrine for the Internet."
The failure of the Left on talk radio is well documented, so are they now turning to the Internet to solidify their political power and silence their critics - anyone who still believes in freedom and liberty?
Fortunately, there is still time to stand up for growth and innovation and oppose yet another government takeover.
But you must act now!

Lt. Col. Kenneth T. Glasson, Jr., USMCR of Mount Pleasant, SC has served in the US Marine Corps and the Marine Corps Reserve for 29 years and is running for election tgo Congress in the 1st Congressional District of South Carolina. Glasson and his platoon were selected (1 of 16 with in the Battalion) to attach as the Recon support for 7th Marine regiment “Task Force Ripper", which was the lead element for ALL marine ground forces in theater. 1st Lt. Glasson's platoon was the point element for all US Marine ground forces. For service in combat 1st Lt Glasson was awarded the Navy Commendation Medal with Combat “V” (Valor), the Combat Action Ribbon, the Joint Meritorious Unit Award, and multiple campaign service medals. During his time in 1st Recon Bn. Lt. Glasson was deployed numerous times supporting real world operations. Following his combat tour, Lt Glasson deployed to Central America, (Honduras), and also operations along the US boarder. In 1997 Major Glasson was recalled to active duty and served as the senior ground analyst for the Situation in Kosovo. In October 2002 Major Glasson was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel and currently serves in the US Marine Corps Reserve providing Intelligence Support for his command.

Lt. Col. Let's Make Sure Our Military Votes Are Counted~

To monitor ballots, someone would have to go to the local clerks office (check with county clerk) and request the number of absentee ballots being sent and ask for a list of absentee voters and registered voters. NOTE you should be able to obtain a list of just absentee voters. Ask when the ballots are to be sent. Go to the clerks office the day of the mailing and say you want to check off each name on the list. Now if this is a big list you most likely will need several people so you do no interfere with the mail. After that is done then send letter to the absentee voters requesting a confirmation that they have received their ballot and the day they returned the ballot. Then on election day make sure people are there when the ballots are opened.

In some areas this will not be a problem, but in places where there are traitors such as nanny pelousy, harry red, barney flake, barbara poxer, etc this must be done!!!!

Many of our deployed troops votes were not counted in the last election. This is nothing new, it was just more obvious the last election. It has been going on since the 90's that I am aware of and maybe before then.

Some states, districts worked underhandedly to make sure our deployed troops didn't vote by making sure they didn't send the ballots out in time to ensure they wouldn't be received in time. Well we all remember much of the crimes committed last election. But this has been going on for a long time.

I've been paying attention to our (We The People) pattern of dealing with this.
Right before the elections, we talk about it, Then it's election time. Then after the election, we learn nothing has changed EXCEPT the marine corps got their voting system down pat. I didn't hear of any voting problems with deployed marines, but I don't know every marine so....

After the last election we of course again learned many of our deployed troops votes were not counted. This was all due to very underhanded tactics of many.

Is it honorable that we allow this to continue to happen? These are the very men and women who take their oath seriously. They are the very men and women who honor service, integrity and sacrifice for our Republic and our Constitution. Many of these have sacrificed much for us, limbs, blood and their lives.

I find it down right wrong and obnoxious that we the people allow our deployed troops votes to not be counted! I find it down right wrong and obnoxious that our politicians are so criminal that the likes of Nancy Pelosi bused in illegals to vote for her....and Pelosi was not the only one known (for a fact) that pulled that crap.

Think about that! Illegals bused in to vote and our deployed troops votes were not counted.

After the election we learned again many of our deployed troops votes were not counted. We got angry and raised our voices for about a month - and then again as previously done - We forgot about it and moved on to the next battle.

Now we have the elections coming up in Nov. We are making our plans, etc. I say this time we get ahead of this criminal action and make sure our troops votes are counted.

I need people in all your state districts to research and find out if any of your districts did the unthinkable to our deployed troops. Also talk to the veterans, ask if their vote counted, if not, ask what excuses were handed down to them.

Also I, no, our deployed troops need people to make sure in all districts you let the people in charge of voting know you and others are aware of this and are watching to make sure it doesn't happen again. Then follow through.

Please contact me and let me know who of you have chosen to take care of this important work. Our Troops have our backs, who has theirs?

The people of the United States have been attacked by their own government.

In response "WE THE PEOPLE" organized groups known as "Tea Parties".

The 111th congress and 2008 president elect (?) thought they were going to simply ignore us, however, once we gained a majority they were forced to listen.

They listened, then they lied, and we responded "we do not trust this president or congress and nothing you can do will ever change that now".

Now we are under attack again, they are infiltrating our movements in an effort to destroy us from the inside all over again. We cannot allow this to continue. All Tea Parties and all organized Conservative groups must not allow any person who has held office in the past, regardless of party affiliation, to assume any active leadership role. Think about it, we have experienced their leadership, do we want to go through all we have been through just to end up where we started?

November 2006 the United States government ceased to represent American citizens and began representing the 111th congress. With total and complete disregard and abandonment of the Peoples Constitution this congress set new agenda. An agenda which has done more to damage our great nation than all the wars we have ever fought. An agenda aimed at taking over every citizens rights and ability to make their own choices for themselves and their families.

November 2008 our nation witnessed the most corrupt election in our two hundred thirty four year history. An election in which voters were forcibly removed from voting stations against their will and without being able to cast their vote. An election so corrupt that citizens from other countries were shipped in only to cast their vote for the democrat party, get paid and be sent back home. An election so corrupt that votes cast by people who had been dead for years were counted for the democrat candidate. An election so corrupt that many votes cast by deployed American service men and women were not counted. An election so corrupt that it destroyed what, at one time, was a semi respectful mass media industry. Most reporters for American news broadcasters prostituted themselves to a candidate who to this date is still not legitimately qualified to hold the office of President of the United States.

If you are a conservative Patriot who wants to preserve and protect the Constitution of the United States of America and defend Freedom and Liberty, then your help is urgently needed. You all know our Constitution, our Freedom, and our Liberty are under attack from within our great nation. For the first time in our history we are faced with government occupied by individuals bent on the destruction of our Constitution as well as abolishing Liberty and Freedom. These same individuals believe that they are deified. They have elevated themselves to a position where they feel entitled to rule rather than lead. Their belief is that American citizens are not constituents they are subjects with an obligation to obey their commands.

It is important that you, if you are reading this, that means you, get this message out to any conservative groups you are aware of. Career politicians are using conservatives efforts to create the impression that this legislature and administration are a part of the "tea party movement" thus advancing the very liberal agenda we are fighting. Please do not let this happen!

What you have read above is only a very very brief account of all the illegal, unethical, and criminal activities this president and congress are guilty of.

What kind of B.S. is this that has been sent out in this sites name. Whoever is responsible isn't!! What I received was a list of all of our congressmen in SC and was told these peolple all vote for HR 3200. This is totally BOGUS!!! Three are Republicans and since only one RINO from California voted for the insanity, this is easily impossible. Check you facts AND presentation BEFORE sending!!
