As I've traveled the state, there seems to be one common theme... we want to be involved but don't know what to do. Which of the following training seminars do you want to see offered?

.
1. Oklahoma Republicans - Who are We? (Developing a 77-County Message)
2. Organizing my County Party (Officer training)
3. Meetings 101 (How to Conduct a Productive Meeting)
4. Introduction to Precinct Organization
5. What Every Oklahoman Should know about Our Elections
6. Rules - Are They only a Suggestion?
7. What To Do In ONE Hour each Week!
8. How to work with Volunteers
9. Electing Republicans in Democrat Counties
10. Technology that Connects

I would love to hear about any other suggestions on topics that you believe will impact our 2010 Elections in Oklahoma. Let me know which of the 10 listed are your top 3... we are organizing training seminars.

Thanks

Cheryl, I agree with Twana in the sense that we are somewhat aware of all the technology that puts people "in touch" but only a small percentage of its potential is being utilized. One of the things that our party seems to be lacking in is seizing the opportunity to communicate with individuals via the technology that is available today -- especially using the Internet and the power of the blogs and forums that could be linked directly to the GOP State and National Sites for purposes of receiving daily updates or alerts. We almost have it backwards, in that individuals gather information or stories that feed the blogs -- and eventually some of that feedback filters back up to the leadership. But it would be so much better if our leaders were constantly updating US with the events and ramifications of different bills and legislative alerts.

I would think that our state GOP for sure ought to have an individual that is responsible for the distribution of such notices and alerts -- and should be actively seeking a way to communicate with groups such as this one on a systematic basis. That in turn, would give groups a recruitment tool as they advised people that they could stay up to date on important developments related to our state by being a part of a group like this.

Training on how to tap into all the available resources would be invaluable to whoever is in charge of keeping this blog up-to-date and well-linked to the state party office or our representatives' offices. In addition, it would be an excellent way for party leaders to hear directly from organized groups of concerned citizens such as found here, facilitating their own gathering of voter feedback in a much faster format.

Let's use our communication technology to its greatest advantage in linking Oklahoma's conservatives together. We might all be surprised at what we hear and learn.
