Looking for Okaloosa county folks who can help spread the word. I meet folks on the street handing out flyers and very few have heard of OAS. Wendell Beattie Okaloosa County OAS POC oasokaloosa@yahoo.com or 850-758-2863.

There is a new logistics map for Rally points, the new map will have rally points that are easy to access by metro/car/foot, keeping you away from "sensitive" targets and construction zones. I would heavily suggest that you use our Metro (subway) into the National Mall. Parking is limited and they tow at 4pm daily due to traffic.

On our new map, you will see the various Metro stops, the best stop for the Mall is the Smithsonian stop on the Mall. We as team Virginia/DC will be using the Arlington Cemetery stop and will be walking over the Memorial Bridge into the National Mall.

Our Metro system is easy to use, but it is not easy the first time using our ticket machines. I strongly urge all of you to pre purchase your Smartrip cards in advance, either online or in person at many CVS stores in our area. Purchasing ahead of time will save you a ton of aggravation, trust me.

Lastly, if you are planning to lodge in the DC area, please stay in Virginia. The crime rates is much lower, Virginia houses the bulk of our tourists with ease, closer proximity to the Mall and cheaper. Hotels that are within 5 miles of a Metro stop, will have free shuttle service.

If you have any questions about anything DC, please go to our lodgings page or team Virginia page, the links provided our done so by people that have lived in DC for over 30 years each. DO NOT THINK BECAUSE YOU CAME TO DC ONCE OR USED TO WORK HERE FIVE YEARS AGO MAKES YOU A PRO ON THIS AREA! As of less than two years ago, our highway system has changed drastically and our metro system has also changed quite a bit in Virginia.

Regards,

RT

Having trouble navigating and posting on our new vBulletin forum? Since a video is worth a thousand words, I have been scouring YouTube for some tutorials that are focused on some of the most common questions.

Santa Rosa Tea Party Patriots meeting Monday 2/10/14 at the Pace Community Center on Chumuckla hi-way 6 PM. Good place to meet others interested in what is wrong with our government and doing something about the problems. We cover many topics from bills in process to preparedness.

This movement is gaining momentum. Should be interesting to see how many people get up off the couch and do something.

Lynn Marie is managing the chat room with some helpers.  Below is the guidance for chat room members.

Chat Room Rules

Chat Room conduct should be guided by common sense and basic etiquette. You will be considered in violation of the Chat Room Rules of Conduct if you violate any of the following rules:

1. No vulgarities, adult-content, obscenities, name-calling, character assassinations or mockery are allowed.

2. No personal attacks or flaming of any kind. You are welcome to disagree with a member, but calling them names or flaming their character is not allowed. If you have a personal issue to discuss with a member, please take it private and discuss via PM.

3. Please remember when chatting that all members of PFA/OAS are welcome to chat here. Please keep this in mind when chatting and discussing topics.

4. Monitor decisions are final and are not open to debate. There are often behind the scenes details to which you are not privy. Certainly you can question or comment on a decision directly to a monitor via PM or to admin via email, but remember, it is not up for debate. We will not engage in a debate over decisions.

5. Discussing banned members is only allowed in the context of general discussion, but discussing the banning or reasons behind it are not allowed.

6. Members who require excessive reminders of the rules or whose participation results in excessive need for monitor/admin attention may be banned from PFA/OAS without warning.

7. Private Messages and/or e-mails that are exchanged privately, are not to be posted in Discussions, in Chat or in Private Message without consent of all parties involved. Discussions stemming from the topic of a Private Message or e-mailed conversation are fine, provided the above rules are followed.

8. Under NO circumstances are harassing, vulgar or threatening PM’s permitted. If you receive one, please take a screen shot of the message and forward it to a monitor or admin for review. If you are found to have sent one you will be banned.

9. Please respect other members. If you can't do that, put the member on your ignore list. Continual harassment can be grounds for banning.

10. Posting links to offensive material is not allowed under any circumstances.

11. Do not impersonate anyone. “Trolling” is grounds for an immediate ban from PFA/OAS.

12. Please share your thoughts, opinions and feelings in a way that doesn’t require the use of curse words.

13. Remember that monitors are volunteers. It is impossible for them to be in chat every minute of every day. Please don’t assume that because action hasn’t been taken that something is ok. If you see activities that violate the Chat Room Rules, please save a chat log, note the time of the violation and send any and all information to PFA Admin.

14. No soliciting! Under no circumstances will any soliciting be allowed.

By using the Chat Rooms, you agree to all rules posted herein.

How to post "live" URL in posts at PFA............. Adding URLs in blog posts that are not "live" is a waste of everyone's time.....
Here's how....if anyone has better guidance send to me.....
First........type your text entry into the post block to include typing or paste the URL you want us to view........when finished with the text, highlight and copy the URL in the text.......then click the "add hyperlink" tool in the B, I, U box just above the text entry, after clicking, a window will open asking for the URL...paste the URL in the box and click "OK". You have now made the URL "live"...........it shows some code before the post is published, it goes away when you "publish post".......
