From what I undestand, Phil Valentine is aware of this however, I do not know if he will be there as of yet.
One of the ladies in the Rutherford County Republican Headquarters has an interview with him tomorrow and she was aware of the Tea Party from another site or source.
This seems to be very ambitious - Friday when people are working and unable to leave, those out of town members who have to work, others leaving town for the weekend.- and so little warning.
I hope it works - we will try to get there, right now I will have to try to juggle several things in order to get there. May or may not manage it.
All that said, at least someone is trying to get something started, I just hope the media does not show a poor showing which would not be a good start. Was Phil Valentine informed about this and asked to participate?
NASHVILLE – The Tennessee Republican Party adds its support to the grassroots movement growing nationwide in opposition to the Obama administration’s relentless march to enact endless “bailouts” and “economic stimulus” packages that are pushing America trillions of dollars deeper into debt while putting the American taxpayer on the hook for the bill for hundreds of billions of dollars in pork projects and payoffs to liberal special-interest groups.
This Friday, Middle Tennessee will join a growing list of locales around the country where Americans will gather to protest and hold symbolic “Tea Parties,” inspired by CNBC reporter Rick Santelli, whose anti-mortgage bailout rant from the floor of the Chicago Commodities Exchange sparked the nationwide modern-day version of the Boston Tea Party that helped spark the American Revolution.
The Middle Tennessee Tea Party is scheduled for noon to 1 p.m., Friday, February 27, 2009, at Legislative Plaza, located at Sixth Ave. and Union Street in downtown Nashville.
“A decade ago, thousands of Tennesseans from all walks of life gathered at Legislative Plaza for a series of protests that ultimately led to the defeat of a proposed state income tax. Tennesseans know that public protest has the power to stop bad policy, and this Friday Tennesseans again have the opportunity to stand up and make their voices heard in protest of the reckless fiscal policies of the Obama administration,” said Bill Hobbs, communications director for the Tennessee Republican Party.
“This is not about political parties or partisanship,” Hobbs said. “It is about the future, and whether we will continue to heap trillions of dollars in debt on our children and grandchildren.”
The Middle Tennessee Tea Party is organizing via the Internet, with a web page on Facebook.com.

The United States is not at war with Islam as some extremists claim to justify their violence against the West, President Barack Obama said.
Obama, speaking at the U.S. Defense Department’s National Defense University in Washington, referred to various terrorism threats and how some are fueled by extremists saying Islam is in conflict with the West.
“Most, though not all, of the terrorism we faced is fueled by a common ideology — a belief by some extremists that Islam is in conflict with the [...]
In Rinkeby a predominantly immigrant district in northern Stockholm, firefighters rushed to put out flames that engulfed six cars parked alongside each other. Five cars were totally gutted, and one sustained more moderate damage, according to an AFP photographer on the scene.
The continued vandalism left local residents irate, with hundreds gathering at the scene to express their frustration.
“People are furious; they think Rinkeby is better than this,” Scanpix photographer Fredrik Sandberg told the TT news agency from the scene.
