Members of all branches of the United States Military will soon be facing a most critical decision. The European Union Times is reporting here that Obama is using the deployment of additional troops to Afghanistan to cover for the movement of some 200,000 troops, presently on duty in countries other than Iraq and Afghanistan, to USNORTHCOM to prepare for the… Continue

Fort Smith: A Target-Rich Environment

“This is what I call a Target-Rich Environment” - Viper, in the movie Top Gun

If you are a resident, and probably even a visitor, to Fort Smith, you are now part of this “Target-Rich” environment.

Back in 1875 there was a Judge Parker, known as the “Hanging Judge”, who arrived in Fort Smith. His answer to almost every crime was to hang the accused. Today it would seem that we have a police force in Fort Smith that is carrying on this tradition. Instead of having a trial… Continue

"We are firmly convinced, and we act on that conviction, that with nations as with individuals our interests soundly calculated will ever be found inseparable from our moral duties, and history bears witness to the fact that a just nation is trusted on its word when recourse is had to armaments and wars to bridle others."

--Thomas Jefferson, Second Inaugural Address, 1805

G'day mates!

Buenas diers, y'all!

It's a nippy Tuesday here in Phoenix. Got rain in the valley and snow in the mountains! It's 56F here in Phoenix, but in the northern mountains, it's dropped below freezing (32F/0C). That's friggin' cold!!!

The furbs had to determine what was up this morning, but they are out playing under the eaves and overhangs, keeping dry if not warm.

I have been keeping myself lubricated with my fave antifreeze: Jameson Irish Whiskey!

Take care, stay safe…

Sunday, December 7, 1941, began as a serene morning at the U.S. Navy Base on the island of Oahu in Hawaii. The warships of American’s Pacific Fleet rested at anchor. Many sailors were preparing for church or relaxing, and all was quiet at Pearl Harbor.

At about 7:55 a.m. a buzz from the sky broke the calm as a dive-bomber bearing the red symbol of the Rising Sun of Japan dropped out of the clouds. Seconds later, a swarm of Japanese warplanes followed. Sirens wailed as… Continue

13th Amendment to US Constitution is Ratified (1865)

The 13th Amendment to the US Constitution completed the process of abolishing slavery, which had begun with Abraham Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation of 1863. By December 6, 1865, 27 of the 36 existing states had ratified the 13th Amendment, starting with the state of Illinois. Offenses against this amendment were being prosecuted as late as 1947. Which of the states that initially rejected the 13th Amendment… Continue

A military mother’s take on the president’s speech

Beverly Gunn

The stage was set at West Point last night and the backdrop was the Corps of Cadets, who served as props for the President’s speech. It was not a proud moment. I saw all those young men and women, who are chosen and a part of the top ten percent of the greatest minds of their generation, and I wept.

To use them as props seemed to me to serve as the… Continue

Albert Jay Nock, Forgotten Man of the Old Right

by Jeffrey A. Tucker

For an earlier generation of American dissidents from the prevailing ideology of left-liberalism, a rite of passage was reading Albert Jay Nock's Memoirs of a Superfluous Man, which appeared in 1943. William F. Buckley was hardly alone in seeing it as a seminal text crucial to his personal formation.

Here it is in one package, an illustration of the level of learning that had been lost with mass education, a picture of the way a true political… Continue

Why do I view Obama's Afghanistan speech lacking in leadership quality, but a great "advertisement for no-doz?"

Cadets were going to sleep, as the speech for the most part was a regurgitation of Obama's campaign rhetoric, more of a pandering to political positions of the left, right, and independent...something for everyone but nothing of a convincing nature in tone, emotion, conviction, or notice to the Afghan government, that indicated the commander in chief was speaking and… Continue

Choosing Freedom over Islam, and the Story of Wafa Sultan

by Daniel Greenfield

Today I attended a Q&A Wafa Sultan as part of a book signing for her new book, and I noticed that the common theme of virtually every question that was asked by the attendees could be summed up as, "What can we do to stop Islam?"

There is of course no simple answer. Communism, the closest parallel to the current threat we face, attacked us at a military, political and cultural level. Islam attacks us at a military, political, cultural and… Continue

America's Right

As a result of the Louisiana Purchase Part Deux on the night of Saturday, November 21st, Harry Reid has forced the American people one step closer to the proverbial cliff, an eventual near-complete takeover of the once proud American way of life. It goes without any need for further explanation that all of the policy decisions coming out of this administration, let alone the… Continue
