Constitutional Emergency

Just one more example of why we need an American for president.

If someone has to explain this to you, you are not a veteran

He doesn't seem to have much respect for the military.
Maybe in the future our leaders should be veterans.

Bad press, including major mockery of the play by comedian Jon Stewart, led to President Obama abandoning his proposal to require veterans carry private health insurance to cover the estimated $540 billion annual cost to the federal government of treatment for injuries to military personnel received during their tours on active duty. The President admitted that he was puzzled by the magnitude of the opposition to his proposal.

"Look, it's an all volunteer force," Obama complained. "Nobody made these guys go to war. They had to have known and accepted the risks. Now they whine about bearing the costs of their choice? It doesn't compute.." "I thought these were people who were proud to sacrifice for their country, "Obama continued "I wasn't asking for blood, just money. With the country facing the worst financial crisis in its history, I'd have thought that the patriotic thing to do would be to try to help reduce the nation's deficit.. I guess I underestimated the selfishness of some of my fellow Americans."

Please pass this on to every one including every vet and their families whom you know. How in the world did a person with this mindset become our leader?

If he thinks he will ever get another vote from an Active Duty, Reserve, National Guard service member or veteran of a military service he ought to think it over.. If you or a family member is or has served their country please pass this to them.

Please pass this to everyone. I'm guessing that other than the 20-25 percent hardcore liberals in the US will agree that this is just another example why
this is the worst president in American history. Remind everyone over and over how this man thinks, while he bows to the Saudi Arabian king...

Obama Drops Controversial Third-Party Billing Proposal for Veterans

Updated 6:57 p.m.
By Philip Rucker
President Obama today abandoned a proposal to bill veterans' private insurance companies for treatment of combat-related injuries after the measure prompted an outcry from veterans service organizations and members of Congress.

The proposal would have authorized the Department of Veterans Affairs to charge private companies for treating injuries and other medical conditions related to military service, such as amputations, post-traumatic stress disorder and other battle wounds. The measure was intended to save the VA about $530 million a year, but the administration's pursuit of third-party billing sparked resistance from leaders of powerful veterans groups, who met earlier this week with Obama.

In a statement released this afternoon, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said the president has "instructed that its consideration be dropped."

"In considering the third party billing issue, the administration was seeking to maximize the resources available for veterans," Gibbs said. "However, the president listened to concerns raised by the [veterans service organizations] that this might, under certain circumstances, affect veterans and their families' ability to access health care."

Veterans groups said the policy would jeopardize the insurance benefits of veterans and their families and would be an abrogation of the government's responsibility to care for those wounded in war.

Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.), a senior member of the Veterans' Affairs and Budget committees who warned VA Secretary Eric K. Shinseki last week that Obama's third-party billing proposal would be "dead on arrival," issued a statement saying the president "did the right thing in dropping this proposal.

"Injured veterans and their families have already paid enough of a price, they shouldn't have to worry about the tab for service-related care," Murray said.

Gibbs said Obama wants to "continue a constructive partnership" with veterans groups and highlighted the administration's commitment to veterans. In his budget blueprint, Obama proposes the largest increase in the VA's budget in 30 years.

Paul Rieckhoff, executive director of Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, was critical of the proposal and issued a statement today saying that the administration is "upholding our sacred trust with America's veterans. Veterans of all generations are celebrating this decision."

What third party insurance covers acts of war?

As much as I loathe and despise the man I am not sure that this is true.  I have received emails as much as a year ago making this claim.  I sure wish someone could find a link to confirm this.  If someone does find a link please post it immediately.  I don't doubt that it is true.  I know from personal experience that the VA system is a farce.  As a vet with disabilities I have seen the VA from the inside and it is not pretty.  I can't imagine what what the vets who have been wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan must be going through.  The situation for our wounded vets, both physical and mental, is a direct reflection on the abysmal performance by Congress.  There should be no need for organizations such as Wounded Warrior Project.

So, the Washington Post in 2009 did publish an article,, but apparently the idea got "nipped in the bud" pretty fast.  Am I understanding this correctly?  BTW, 2 years ago I discovered that both Snopes and Factcheck were run by leftists.  Research their funding and their founding.

If you don't think it's true, THEN WHY?  Cause Snopes or fact check told you it isn't?  Check Mark Barnes post below!!

There ought to be a constitutional amendment REQUIRING some form of national service in the military for those physically and mentally able and/or in VISTA or then Peace Corps for conscientious objectors as a CITIZENSHIP OBLIGATION for both genders. No one knows better the costs involved in defending freedom than those who DO SO. Were this a fact. We would be involved in fewer wars and NO ONE would have a mindset like our purported president. And the opportunity to vote should be made an earned priviliege by that service, with those who don't serve allowed every other freedom but voting. If you are unprepared to defend your freedom you have not earned the right to make a decision on policy with a voice at the polls. Were this so, I doubt we would have as elitisit and self aggrandizing a group of parasites as we now have in Washington, or at the various other levels of government. That service should also be a REQUIREMENT before one is allowed to RUN for political office. I am sure many will disagree but, it would help prevent what we have from ever happening to us again.

Hey Raff, I understand your discust and the need to say what you really feel but, before Twana axes you I suggest you find a better way than using the language (even redacted) that you chose.  To be more effective you could find the source of this info as many have asked and publish it for all to see.  Believe me we have all thought the thoughts you express.
