Good morning everyone. Happy Babylonian New Year!
I say Babylonian New Year because the Biblical New Year is the first new moon after the vernal equinox. Nonetheless, I hope this morning finds you safe, well and in good spirits.
We have yet again managed to turn the page on the world’s calendar to 2012. I will not cloud this greeting with bad news which, of course, will come later in my Annual 2012 Predictions, (razor blade and tub of warm water not included) ... but my thoughts and prayers for you converge this New Year at this nexus ... Faith, Family, & Friends.
It is so terribly important that you gather close to family, coalesce with like-minded friends who bring community building skills to the table, and finally and most importantly build your faith through daily devotions, Bible reading and prayer time.
The future we face is uncertain to say the least, and while we approach it with a positive attitude of faith, we also understand the world faces so many crises that we simply cannot expect to get through them without a solid foundation of Biblical faith and strength.
Remember that God is still on the throne. Even with the world in the shape it is, life is not to be lived on the cusp of depression - but rather - in the vision of victory which is already ours through the Messiah.
My wish is for you to be so animated by the power of the resurrection and spiritual understanding, that when you hear the noise of battle, rather than cower at the tumult, you run to the fray.
Victory is not for the faint of heart, but for the bold and daring, who in faith, with every fiber of their being, engage the enemy and his minions.
I pray and expect your protection as you dawn the helmet of salvation that every thought be secured against the lies of the corrupter of this world.
Grab on to the shield of faith that every evil advance of the enemy against you, every fiery dart, and blow of the adversary may be absorbed and harmlessly blunted.
Finally learn to wield with skill the sword of the spirit that your every thrust and parry be blessed with the honesty, power and truth of the Spirit.
I pray that each of you can forget the wrongs suffered at the hands of others, contemplate the joy of friends and loved ones who have added to the tapestry of your life, and reflect on the happy times and times of fulfillment which graced your year.
Walk in peace when you can, be a blessing to all you encounter, and live in expectation of victory knowing that “all things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28
