I wrote this song in honor of my father, Cary L. Jarvis, who landed D-Day, first wave on Omaha Beach, and all other soldiers who have bravely fought for our countries freedom.

Twana Thank you very much for sharing this awesome song and photos. An Outstanding Tribute from a Daughter to Her Father and all Those Who came ashore in Normandy. I also attended the 60th anniv from England to Normandy with the C-47 Club. I was in the Company of Paratroopers who jumped into Normandy and Soldiers who came ashore. As a 51 yr old Paratrooper during this trip it was great to see How Our WW11 Combat Veterans were treated in England and Normandy. You see many folks will Never Forget that the Freedoms they enjoy each and everyday is because of Americans who died, those wounded and those who served to secure them. I will share this video with many. God Bless All Who Have Served and Do Serve today. Their Service to Our Country is Very Appreciated. "FREEDOM ISN'T FREE" Is much more than three words to me. An extremely touching song that proudly proclaimed her pride in her father who was there and survived. As a veteran of the Vietnam War and the response we received from idiots, this song made me sad that those of us who gave of ourselves to protect this nation from those who wanted us dead. And to make matters even worse, those same idiots are now in the White House with the same goal - to turn this superb country into a third-world banana republic. I can only pray that the usurper in the office of President is soundly defeated in November. I am doing as much as I can to make that prayer a reality. I hope that all our members are doing the same thing!!!

I have had the privilege of being able to visit all of the Normandy beaches. I have been able to stand at the water's edge and see what our troops faced on "bloody Omaha". Every man that stepped out of a landing craft on Omaha beach that day was a hero. To be able to accomplish what they did on that day took more valor and courage than any other group of men have ever displayed. (In my opinion.) I have also been able to visit several of the US military cemeteries in Europe to include the one at Normandy. I cannot begin to put into words the "presence" I felt at the Normandy cemetery as soon as I stepped across the boundary between the parking lot and the cemetery proper. That was almost 30 years ago and I am still unable to properly describe it. It was something that surrounded me and stayed with me the entire time I was there. It almost seemed I could feel it. That cemetery truly is hallowed ground. I was with a university study group and when we returned to the bus the silence was overwhelming. Having been there and experienced that "presence" sends chills up my spine when I think about it. I cannot watch the final scene of Saving Private Ryan.

A breed of men that the likes of may never be equaled. Every one of them heroes, but they'd never admit it. From Pearl Harbor to D-Day, to V-J Day… what kind of country would it have been without them? A great tribute song to all the heroes that served and protected this nation.

Very stirring and heartfelt song thank you for posting this. It could be applied to all those who have served so honorably then and since. @Lawrence thank you for your service in Vietnam and I am glad to see that you realize that it was some few idiots that didn't appreciate your service. It's just sad that theirs was the voices that were heard at the time and since.
