SAN DIEGO - The number of senior U.S. Navy officials accused of swapping secrets for bribes that included cash, prostitutes and high-end travel has grown to three.
Federal authorities on Wednesday arrested Cmdr. Jose Luis Sanchez in Tampa, Fla. and will seek to have him sent to San Diego to face allegations that he accepted $100,000 in cash, visits from prostitutes and other bribes from a Malaysian contractor.
Prosecutors allege that in exchange for the bribes, the 41-year-old Sanchez passed on classified U.S. Navy information to Leonard Glenn Francis, known in Navy circles as "Fat Leonard," the CEO of Singapore-based Glenn Defense Marine Asia Ltd., or GDMA.
Sanchez's attorney could not immediately be reached for comment.
Francis's company has serviced Navy ships in the Pacific for 25 years and is accused of overbilling the Pentagon by millions. His contracts have now been suspended.
The arrest marks the latest development in the case rocking the Navy. The accusations signal serious national security breaches and corruption and has set off high-level meetings at the Pentagon with the threat that more people, including those of higher ranks, could be swept up as the investigation continues. A hearing Nov. 8 could set a trial date.
"According to the allegations in this case, a number of officials were willing to sacrifice their integrity and millions of taxpayer dollars for personal gratification," U.S. Attorney Laura Duffy said after Wednesday's arrest.
The two other senior officials arrested in recent weeks in the case are Navy Cmdr. Michael Vannak Khem Misiewicz - who like Sanchez, is accused of giving Francis' company confidential information about Navy ship routes - and a senior Navy investigator, John Beliveau II.
Prosecutors allege in a criminal complaint that Beliveau, 44, kept Francis abreast of the bribery probe and advised him on how to respond in exchange for such things as prostitution services.
GDMA overcharged the Navy millions of dollars for fuel, food and other services it provided, and invented tariffs by using phony port authorities, prosecutors say.
Misiewicz and Francis moved Navy vessels like chess pieces, diverting aircraft carriers, destroyers and other ships to Asian ports with lax oversight where Francis could inflate costs, the criminal complaint alleges.
Francis, 49, was arrested in San Diego in September. A few weeks later, authorities arrested his company's general manager of global government contracts, Alex Wisidagama, 40.
Misiewicz, Beliveau, Francis and Wisidagama have pleaded not guilty. Their defense attorneys declined to comment.
Court records allege that Sanchez regularly emailed Francis internal Navy discussions about GDMA, including legal opinions, and made recommendations in GDMA's favor about port visits and Navy personnel assignments.
The conspiracy began in January 2009, when Sanchez was the deputy logistics officer for the commander of the Navy's 7th Fleet in Yokosuka, Japan, according to charging documents.
Francis hired prostitutes for Sanchez and friends on multiple occasions, according to the investigation.
In one 2009 email exchange, Sanchez and Francis discussed a trip Sanchez planned to take to Kuala Lumpur and Singapore with Navy friends he called his "Wolf Pack," according to the complaint. They discussed the number of rooms the "Wolf Pack" needed, and Sanchez asked Francis for pictures of prostitutes for "motivation." Francis replied that he would take care of it.
A few days later, Sanchez sent a Facebook message to Francis saying, "Yummy ... daddy like," according to charging documents.
Shortly after that, Francis sent an email asking Sanchez to help "swing" business his way regarding a U.S. Navy ship's need to refuel in Thailand.
As a result, the USS Mustin paid more than $1 million for fuel from GDMA at the Thai port - more than twice what the fuel should have cost, prosecutors allege.
Acting Assistant Attorney General Raman said the GDMA executives "boasted" about their unlawful dealings, which could bring five years in prison if they're convicted of conspiracy to commit bribery.
"Day by day, this massive Navy fraud and bribery investigation continues to widen, and as the charges announced today show, we will follow the evidence wherever it takes us," he said.

Possibly corruption is so rampant and routine that BHOnCO. could do this with any number of officers. However most probably they are removing the Patriotic minded personnel in critical positions who wont "cotton to" BHO'S N.W.O. brand of corruption that they are employing to disintegrate the U.S.A. Whatever the facts surrounding this affliction, IMHO there is a need for a special - "special forces team" to infiltrate the ranks to identify the garbage, publicize it widely and remove it with the Permission of WE THE PEOPLE. One significant stumbling block we have is the muddied border between reality and "Hollywood produced surrealism" that permeatres commercials and blends with the lies of the Main Stream Media. Somehow we have to cooperate in standing up a media, (video, T.V., etc), that reaches into the homes, churches and businesses of America to SCREAM OUT - PROTECT OUR MILITARY .

The ONLY high ranking military officer removed from active duty was General MacArthur. This is in my lifetime.

It is my experience, that the Marines can go to War, get dismembered, or die, but they cannot discuss Politics....................................First Amendment, anyone? Control, their complete control is needed. The Obama administration is currently purging the military by giving officers tests to identify which ones are more likely to defend the Constitution rather than support the president’s policies.

For at least two years, top military brass have been giving litmus tests to officers, from generals down to sergeants, asking them if they will disarm or even fire on U.S. citizens.
“Going back to the beginning of this administration, I’ve had friends within the community talking about how they were brought in and questioned with people from more towards the top side,” Benjamin Smith, a retired U.S. Navy SEAL, said on the Oct. 23 edition of the Alex Jones Show. “The questioning resulted in … do you feel comfortable disarming American citizens?”
“You can see that now with the shoving of a lot of the officers and stuff like that. We don’t have 100% track on it, but there’s a lot of funny things happening within the military.”
This likely explains the unprecedented removal of at least 197 military officers by the Obama administration in the past five years.
Retired Army Maj. Gen. Patrick Brady told WMD last week that generals and colonels are being relieved of duty if they do not follow Obama’s agenda.
Even non-commissioned officers in the military police are being conditioned to assist the Federal Emergency Management Agency with its unconstitutional demands.
In a video leaked to Infowars, an army commander briefed MPs on their domestic duties with FEMA during martial law, including escorting federal officials as they confiscate firearms from Americans.
“We’ve lost all control when the military moves in on your street,” the commander said during the briefing. “They [government officials] are saying you have no more rights, you are going inside your houses.”

While it is easy to speculate these are people being set up, we can't overlook the fact that with this administration, the previous administration and their penchants for world government, we should fully expect vast levels of corruption in our military while it is being manipulated for political purpose.
While the wholesale removal of officers for questionable reasons goes on, our attention diverted, those promoted are the ones who would otherwise be left behind, if they had to compete with those being put out. The cost of putting out all those intrinsically tied to their principles and the instruments of such, includes their substitution with wicked and evil who are not being pushed out, but have more to do than simply the administration's bidding. They do have their own pockets to line after all.
Nixon got caught out because the investigators "followed the money", while obama is deliberately working to destroy our country, we should not be surprised to find he has followers stealing just as he has done, and they too, get caught but don't have the presidential pass, get out of jail free. Hitler took great pleasure in the fact he didn't have to tell much of his following how to be destructive, that they were naturals and set their own tone.
Just because someone is caught stealing in the military doesn't mean they aren't part of the problem. The systems continue and don't determine between friend and foe, and while I suspect obama may feel for those caught, it wouldn't surprise me if he were laughing at their ineptitude. Evil enjoys destruction, even if it's its own disciples and acolytes who get burned.
The administration is in burn mode, it's for all the marbles at this stage, too much at stake. Take this as a sign the administration is nervous and not sure which direction to look in. The combined efforts to bring this criminal down have taken their toll, while no one line seems to be well in place to take it down, there is fear there, and uncertainty.
We need to move and press harder, push for more, and expect more mistakes. We have had an impact, but not enough. Too many people still defend this man and yet the truth is spreading farther and wider. We must keep attacking the focal point; the lying liar who is still determined to fundamentally change our Nation.
