Over the weekend I was fortunate enough to score an odd job and went shopping for some much-needed groceries. Last night, after returning from the store, I reached into my pocket and removed the coins left over from my purchase. I gave the coins a casual glance and thought to myself "well bud, like it or not this is your life's savings" as I deposited the coins on the counter. As the coins rang their tune of striking the laminate counter top, my attention was quickly drawn to the distinctive sound of that which we now rarely hear... SILVER!
I had in my posssession, a modest and well worn dime dating from 1964. Somehow this coin had managed to elude the Feds efforts of eliminating all valuable metals from circulation and had found its way into my pocket. The story this coin could tell of its life journey could easily be worthy of prime time television. It could have been a soldiers good-luck-charm while marching down the Ho Chi Min Trail, we will never rightly know.
As I studied this coin, nothing special about it outside of it's REAL value, "In God We Trust" stared back at me and I began to think. How can we place such a saying on something that so proliferates our lives when in fact our country is in progress of removing God from every aspect of our lives? Maybe.... this coin is a flaw. So I began to inspect my other coins. A 1992 penny. "In God We Trust", while slightly eroded, was still there. I saw the same thing on two quarters dating from 2008 and 1972.
With the evidence presented before me, I concluded my silver dime was in fact, not a flaw. Thus, in my though proccess of logical contemplation, I began to wonder...
Once upon a time, the commonly accepted currency of our great nation was created from material of value. Our paper monies were labeled "silver certificates" and were redeemable for silver valued at the designated value of the bill. Upon the creation of the Federal Reserve System our paper monies were no longer redeemable for internationally accepted value, our certificates became notes. No longer was our "money" redeemable for silver or gold. Now we tender in debt.
I, for one, am not very eager to apply my effort in labor to earn debt. Being a simple man living a simple life, I will not try to indicate I have a total understanding of the complicated system in which our economies take place as I do not. However In see something inherently wrong with "earning" a debt. Our purpose in life is to move forward, not go back.
My fellow Americans... we are about to confront the true face of the evil which has been destroying our nation for several generations. Not if but WHEN we are victorious, we have a major task ahead of us in restructuring the financial methods which are employed as they just do not work.

  • This is so well stated that I hope more will at least read it.  In God we Trust, in money we do not...for the reasons you stated, thank you.

  • Very well said. We don't know how this will end up, but we know the way we are going now must end... or we will lose the Nation we all dearly love.
