Nearly always at the time of the death of a celebrity, there is national attention. The question is whether the nation is willing to honestly consider the message some celebrity deaths send?

Not often the death of a warrior is given much attention at all, in fact many American’s would rather not hear about the courage, selfless dedication, sacrifice, and voluntary nature of military service. Why did a military member die? Is the question and answer ever given days, weeks, or even years of national attention explaining the details as some celebrity deaths are afforded?

Unlike the reflection of a warrior death, the celebrity death is given great focus on tangible contribution, often of questionable national impact, while the “why” of the death is more than likely given scant attention allowing sensationalism to dominate. In fact, often the cause of a celebrity death looks for some scape-goat to explain the death, or find someone else to blame for the untimely passing….hiding the consequences of life-style impact.

Culture in America breeds worship of fame, money, drugs, “relativism” which often rewards many with unfortunate consequences while the nation laments the tragedy of it all.

As respectfully as one can say, the bitter truth of many untimely celebrity deaths or other unfortunate situations, result from their own personal irresponsible behavior. In short, it is the fault of the person who dies from drug overdose, drinking a driving, not anyone else.

America has become a nation burying truth, no matter where it exists. If we continue our refusal to recognize time tested values of truth, and consequences of the refusal, America will be buried, and soon.

  • Just another liberal marxists democRAT going to Hell.

  • I was led to post my thoughts given the interest and excellent dialogue reflected in the Bertrum post "Taking Back The Country"......I view the celebrity issue another demension.......

    • I  am    almost afraid to post a comment on Ms Houston because not a few folks here called me a racist but as a retired old Air Force Airplane Driver I feelI must express my dismay and disgust at the supposedly Republican Neocon Governor Christie ordering flags at half  mast for her.

(I am aware, of course that Christie is just pandering for votes)

I consider lowering the flag for a junkie , albiet a very taented one, an insult to every one who every wore a military or first responder uniform, I resent it deeply.

      • Fear not old airplane driver.  This is an old spy chaser who has your back.  The only difference between a dead no talent drug addict and a talented drug addict is the amount of money the media can make off of the latter.  I have never knowingly listened to a Whitney Houston song.  The reason being, I absolutely refuse to support entertainers of any sort who are drug addicts, serial offenders  or who are wont to go around the world defaming this country.  People such as Alec Baldwin, Sean Penn, Willie Nelson, and Michael Moore just to name a few.

  • Amen. I fully agree with the above. Celebrities today have so much money, don't know what to do with it and get into drugs which eventually kill them. They have done it to themselves. Nobody else is to blame. I think we really need to focus on the wars our troops are sent to, the deaths involved and curtail those wars.

    • And yet our military heros get nary a mention. As a veteran it sickens me that we make such a big deal of some drug abused, spoiled, coddled prima donna, than those on the front line. Soldiers underpaid, under-appreciated, under fire, over-worked, who insure our safety and way of life. So what's more valuable, an over-paid blindly worshipped singer or our military on the front line laying it all down for their fellow man? Men who risk never seeing their families again, who barely make enough to make ends meet, hated and abused by their own government. A nation without a soul is soon lost, America is lost!

    • You say it well Roberta...drug and alcohol abuse is a cancer in our nation.  But when it takes it's toll, there is no focus  on the cause.....

  •    Good post Harry.   I am sorry for the deaths of our soldiers, police, fire fighters that put their lives on the line every day for us.  Those are the ones I feel bad for and their families.

  • Isn't it true... the bad behavior is trumped by fame every time.

    Amen, Harry

  • Forward what remains of her stash of drugs to the White House.  Maybe it'll catch on there!
