Today, Romney for President announced its Military Advisory Council.
“I am deeply honored to have the support of so many of our most accomplished military leaders,” said Mitt Romney. “Together we will restore our military might and ensure that America can defend and protect our interests, our allies, and our people, both at home and abroad. I will never forget that the greatest responsibility of an American president is in exercising the role of commander-in-chief. That role is sacred, and when I am president, I will never put my own political interests ahead of our military and our men and women in uniform.”
“I’m proud to be supporting Mitt Romney in this critical election about our nation’s future,” said General Tommy Franks, USA (Ret.), Past Commander, U.S. Central Command. “Governor Romney is committed to restoring America’s leadership role in the world. Instead of playing politics with our military, he will strengthen our defense posture by reversing the President’s devastating defense cuts. The fact of the matter is that we cannot afford another four years of feckless foreign policy. We need level-headed leadership which will protect our interests and defend our values with clarity and without apology.”
“I consider the unprecedented national debt amongst the five greatest threats to the security of our great nation,” said General James Conway, USMC (Ret.), Past Commandant of the Marine Corps. “And yet, I see no indication the current administration, if re-elected, is intent on changing that trajectory. Clearly Defense should bear a portion of the burden in order to regain control of our debt, but the idea of massive military cuts -- at a time of increased global instability—should not even be in the cards. As I listen to Mitt Romney, I am convinced that he 'gets it'.”

I am impressed. Maybe
Romney can rid the odor of Obama and Biden from America.
I can only hope and pray that this article is true and accurate and real. This could then stand as a beacon of hope on the horizon. I pray that this "Advisory Counsil" does exist as stated here. If this is true and accurate I will stand and follow these men and women of our Military right through the very gates of hell itself until we rid this great nation of these traitors who now occupy Washington.
May GOD bless and help defend America.
I get it, and I like it. I am very encouraged to see so many of the Generals and Admirals even though retired getting behind Romney. Even though they are retired, they still have some influence on the military. Some of those in charge today have in my view sold out to the Obama administration and should be retired immediately upon Romney's assuming office. We certainly need a new direction there. Semper Fi.
All this brass...where are the non coms and the enlisted men representatives? Not liking what I see here...also not thinking that this many people could EVER get ANYTHING actually done! But then again, I was never in the military....am I wrong?
non commissioned officers
A Non Com is like in the Navy a petty officer from pay grade E4 thru E 9 or a non comissioned officer. which is what really runs our services.. The officers point at what to do but its the lower guys that do the work and pay the big price....
Jager that is not true about Romney.
I got chills down my spine as I scrolled through the list of 359 retired Generals and Admirals that will support Mitt Romney as our Commander-in-Chief. That surely is a mighty powerful and patriotic list if I ever saw one.
I think you're taking this wrong, Twana. Or maybe I just worded my thoughts wrong. What I meant is, sometimes the brass doesn't always represent what's really going on in the trenches, like in the current regime. I know one young man with two bronze stars and valor commendations who feels the guys on the ground are being screwed by the upper echelon brass these days. It looks like Romney's list is all retired guys, many of whom probably retired because of the obozo regime. So that is a good sign. I just want to be sure that young soldiers, like my friend, are not lost in the shuffle.
If Romney is meeting with these guys, then he should list them. That's all I'm saying....then again...if they are active, he's probably not listing them so that he does not get them in trouble, which may explain why his list is all retired guys. That's why I asked if I was wrong in my assessment....it was not meant as a criticism of those who stepped up....an impressive list, I might add...showing more than ever how military personnel really feel about what is going on today.
I applaud the courageous men on the list and hope that Mr. Romney heeds their sage advice. You are right...the military has put in on the line again, standing up for America and our Constitution.
The top brass are always listed first. We can't look at it as exclusion, but more due to a lack of space to display the names of those that carry out orders and make things happen. I know I wouldn't read a list of 500,000 names, one by one. That list of brass had impact, without having to take all afternoon to read it. It's understood that it's the grunts do the hard work, but they don't do it for admiration or a pat on the back... they do it because no one else can.
