Taliban Fund Raising In Pakistan

Strategy Room

October 12, 2011: Afghan Taliban who have been hiding out in Quetta (southwest Pakistan) for the last decade, have been running out of money. Foreign contributions dried up years ago, and in the last year, the drug gangs that took up a lot of the slack have been hammered hard by a NATO offensive. So the exiled Afghan Taliban has turned to kidnapping. In most cases they go after aid workers, even if they are Pakistanis. This is less likely to upset the Pakistani government, and aid organizations can come up with several hundred thousand dollars for each of their employees. In one case, Pakistani government bureaucrats were taken. It's unclear if the government paid, but there were apparently some harsh words for the Taliban, who seem to have blamed that one on a renegade group. Lately, there has been one kidnapping a month, and that appears to have brought in enough cash to deal with the current crises.

  • And the bad part is that our great news media will not say a word like they used to back in the 60`s but today you will not even hear about what they are doing in the middle east...Thanks to our gov shut down on the news so when they strike America it will look like a big surprise...
  • The Taliban has just been biding its time until we pull out so it can take over again, and will probably infiltrate Pakistan as well as Afghanistan.  Had our troops been allowed to fight this like a war, without the CIA protecting their drug trade, and  the government worrying about civilians who were allowing the enemy to hide behind them instead of getting out of the way, this would have been over long since.  THEN we could do our rebuilding a lot more efficiently and cost-effectively; but that didn't happen.
  • Thanks for that about computers acting up; I'm not real good on this thing yet and wasn't sure if I should call a tech or not; I know Yahoo has been " having problems' and so has my ISP, but there was more going on it seems.  I do know sites are being tampered with too, have been being for awhile.
    • I'm fast learning, anytime I'm on a newsite and read an article that puts POTUS or TOTUS (teleprompter of the USA (the puppetmaster) in a bad light, it's wise to run a virus scan immediately after coming offline. Wonder if this is coming out of the WH's Technology Czar's office.

  • THAT PAYOFF MONEY COMES FROM THE USA.
