A War of Words For WeaponsUnless you are a liberal or a government, words mean things. Change a word & you can change the world. In fact our war for weapons is being lost to a war of words. It is a matter of whether particular words are honored, ignored or redefined.You’d be amazed at how the American people have been duped by the government’s abuse of words. A brief example would be the word “income”. When the income tax was implemented, that word meant money obtained through investments or otherwise earned outside of one’s wages. Income & wages were/are two distinctly different things & wages were never intended to be taxed originally. That makes a big difference doesn’t it? Imagine how different your life would be if the fruits of your labor were not confiscated. Imagine if our government did not have easy access to our countless trillions to give away to their cohorts on a whim. They merely changed the definition of one word, “income”.The rights enumerated in the Bill of Rights protect all Americans from all branches of government. They were written to be held inviolate by all government agencies, local to federal, to “global”. Let’s examine the wording of the phrase, “…the right of the people to keep & bear arms shall not be infringed”.The word “infringe” means to disregard, violate, encroach. Encroach means intrude gradually or insidiously. So something that shall not be infringed can be neither disregarded nor violated, either instantaneously nor gradually.The definition of “arm” as a noun is simply, a weapon. But what exactly is a weapon? Weapon is defined as ANY instrument used in combat, any means employed to get the better of another. Allow me to suggest a few instruments used in combat. Guns, certainly, but ANY instrument must include ammunition & its components, knives, all knives like switchblades, crossbows, arrows, clips, no matter how many rounds they hold, even body armor all come under this description. There are thousands, perhaps millions of items now legal & “illegal” that could come under the heading of “arms”.Now study the verb, “bear”. Don’t be shocked now, it means to carry on one’s person, convey. That means to have it with you as you move from place to place, transport it. To keep is to retain possession. “People” as a word is quite simple. American Heritage defines it as, “A body of persons living in the same country under one national government; nationality. American citizens.The last to examine is a “right.” This is defined as a just claim, legally, morally, or traditionally. Our nation’s Founders observed that the rights to life, liberty, & the pursuit of happiness were derived from our Creator. They must have realized that we would require arms to retain those rights from a government that would take them.So to sum up this little dissertation, the Framers briefly declared that “the moral & legal claim, of any American, to retain possession, carry about & transport any weapon or instrument of battle is not to be disregarded or violated in any way whether instantly or gradually by any government official, representative or body.This means that you can load you 45, shotgun, or whatever, put it in your waistband or over your shoulder, & go to 7-11 for a gallon of milk. Our Constitution specifically forbids any government entity from denying any American this right!So how can our ruling class presume to forbid us a weapon just because some liberal attached the word “assault” to it? How can the goons running our nation’s capital forbid its residents from any type of defense whatsoever in a city with the country’s highest murder rate year after year as a result? Who in the hell are these tyrants who think it is their right to dictate to we, the people what weapons we may possess or how we may possess them?The great musical patriot Ted Nugent once stated that his CCW, (carry concealed weapon) permit is the 2nd Amendment. He’s right. It is stated in no uncertain terms that our government can not legally restrict, or seize control of our guns or ammunition. And yet they continue to do so with abandon.This insanity of ordering American citizens to possess only the government’s sanctioned ammunition that they have numbered & then only if we sign for it has no place in our free society. I would prefer that a thousand murders go unsolved rather than give away any more of my liberty to an insidious, encroaching government. My hope is that you feel the same. Because as they come for our guns, they come for us. And we only have the rights we are willing to fight for. I hope you are willing to fight next to me.“The constitutions of most of our States assert that all power is inherent in the people; that… it is their right and duty to be at all times armed.” –Thomas Jefferson to John Cartwright, 1824.

  • Bobby;

    Can't agree with you more. But also notice that politicans never speak in black or white words or terms. They speak in mushmouth shades of grey. So far it's worked as Americans have been lulled into giving away more and more of their freedoms and rights.

    Let us all pledge, "NEVER AGAIN.. IT STOPS NOW" !!
  • I like the pledge, I'm with you. This probably should have gone in the "Constitution" section. My last few essays have been on that topic which is where I just last week's essay. My internet/computer/website skills are not my strong suit so bear with me. please see my post over there. My goal is to motivate people & this looks like a good site for that. My motivational story has a place here, somewhere. As soon as I find it, I'll add that as well.
  • Don't forget what the meaning of the word "Regulated" was in the 18th Century. Today, we think it is controlled, licensed, observed or controlled. Regulated, in the days of our Forebears, meant Well Equipped, trained and prepared.

    Wow, words do mean things.
