This is the exact symbolism Obama and the whitehut wants! News reports (and usually on our side too) always think this administration and ilk not so bright and make mistakes like this.......The truth of the matter, they have set goals and they are accomplishing them in record time while folks pretend it's stupidity instead of destructive goals.

Oh, dear. This is probably not the symbolism the White House wanted.
Hours after CIA Director John Brennan took the oath of office—behind closed doors, far away from the press, perhaps befitting his status as America's top spy—the White House took pains to emphasize the symbolism of the ceremony.
“There's one piece of this that I wanted to note for you,” spokesman Josh Earnest told reporters at their daily briefing. “Director Brennan was sworn in with his hand on an original draft of the Constitution that had George Washington's personal handwriting and annotations on it, dating from 1787.”
Earnest said Brennan had asked for a document from the National Archives that would demonstrate the U.S. is a nation of laws.
"Director Brennan told the president that he made the request to the archives because he wanted to reaffirm his commitment to the rule of law as he took the oath of office as director of the CIA,” Earnest said.
The Constitution itself went into effect in 1789. But troublemaking blogger Marcy Wheeler points out that what was missing from the Constitution in 1787 is also quite symbolic: The Bill of Rights, which did not officially go into effect until December 1791 after ratification by states. (Caution: Marcy's post has some strong language.)
That means: No freedom of speech and of the press, no right to bear arms, no Fourth Amendment ban on “unreasonable searches and seizures,” and no right to a jury trial.
How ... symbolic?

Debrajoe, I think ALL OF THEM are scary, based on all we know about what they, the collective are doing to us and our country. Extremely distressing. Now if only the cellphone heads would wake up to see it all, that they, all of us will be affected in virtually every way.

Laws are becoming oppressive and going beyond the protection of our Constitutions Bill of Rights....At the rate new laws are being made demonstrates the tyranny we are forced to live under, not to mention the appointment of a demon that will bring the function of the CIA home where it don't belong.......It should be common knowledge that the primary function of the CIA is to tear governments down and rebuild them to suit the needs of communism and a new world order.......nuff said.....
Just curious...
I have two questions.
1. Since when does a newbie get to pick the symbol/document he will use to for his swearing-in ceremony?
2. Why is The Bible not the standard symbol/document that ALL politically appointed heads use for this ceremony?
If I had any say in these ceremonies I would make these people take two oaths. One on the Bible and one on the 'official' Constitution.
I'd like to take the time to read and digest this information, but it's Saturday and I've got to oil and service my various weapons before going out to the range for a couple of hours of practice.
