OH how I LOVE that good old classic country music. I can sit and listen to it all night long.
It brings back old memories, some good, some not so good, and some that I wish I didn’t remember at all.
I remember as far back as 1947, World War II had just ended. Yes – I am that old. Why do I remember 1947? We lost my little brother that year. He drowned in a well out in back of our old country home. He was only two years old. In 1953 my father also drowned. He and my mother separated just about the time I was born so I never actually remember meeting him. The brother that drowned in ‘47 was a half-brother from my mothers second husband, a Step-dad that was a miserable Son-Of-A-Bitch. Mother left him shortly after that happened.
In 1952 Mother and I moved to Ohio. In January 1953 along with some friends we were headed to a country music concert down in Canton Ohio. We never got to that concert, because we heard over the car radio that the lead attraction had died and wouldn’t be there. The concert was canceled. That lead attraction singer was Hank Williams Sr.
Later on in 1959 we were back in New Hampshire where I was born. I had a chance to meet a young politician that was running for President. That was John F. Kennedy. Jack (as we all called him) was elected President in 1960. That was the year I joined the US Air Force, (February 1960).
By 1963 I was stationed in Waco Texas, Just 100 miles south when ‘Jack’ Kennedy was killed in Dallas Texas. I left active duty from the Air Force on February 19th 1964.
That was just about the time the war was ramping up in VietNam.
I volunteered to reenlist in the Army but they refused because by that time I was already married and had three children. The result was that I did NOT end up fighting in that war, instead I moved back to New Hampshire, dragging my wife and three kids with me.
In 1965 I was injured in a shop accident. That ended up with a broken back and five spinal surgeries. Two years in a hospital where I got Rheumatic fever, Actually caught that in the operating room while they were working on repairing my spine. Fast forward to 2009 that caught up to me and I ended up with a pig valve in my heart, damage caused by that Rheumatic fever.
They did a tripple-by-pass too.
So why am I telling all this stuff? My life history, who cares, and what does any of this have to do with the world we live in today?
My point here is that although I’ve had some terrible times in my life I’ve also had some good times. The choices I’ve made, (some good, some bad, and some down right stupid), were all mine alone to make. Except for possibly that Rheumatic fever thing, I have no one else to blame for the bad times. At least I was able to make my own decisions. Things are a lot better for me now, if you think Donald Trump has a “trophy wife’ then you haven’t met MY current wife. She may not be quite as glamorous and picture perfect but I wouldn’t trade her for Melania or anyone else. (Eat your heart out Donald).
The question here is What kind of world are we going to leave for our children and Grand-children?
I’ve grown up and grown old in a country where I was able to make my own decisions, good or bad, what ever they may have been. I live in a free world as a free man.
President Ronald Reagan said it best;
“Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.”
We live in a world today where Government officials have decided that somehow they are above the people. Some government officials believe they are not only above the laws but that they can decide what the laws are, and who must obey them. They have not only stumped on but have shredded the Constitution to the point of non-existence. They don’t believe in the Constitution, and they certainly don’t believe that any of it applies to them. Except of course when it becomes beneficial to their needs. All other laws apply only to those other “Little people”, those “Deplorables” as we are refereed too. Joe Biden called us “The Dredges of Humanity”.
Over the course of my nearly 78 years on this planet I’ve also watched and listened to people like Bill Ayres, Saul Alinsky, Bernadine Dohrn, Barry Soetoro, Valarie Jarrett, traitors like Hanoi Jane Fonda, John Kerry, and many others whom hate this country. Oh they claim they ‘Love America’ all while they have spent their entire lives working to destroy it.
The Russian Karl Marx wrote his Communist Manifesto in 1884. Vladimir Lenin turned that into the worst form of Government oppression and brutality this world has ever seen. And that group of traitors listed above have spent their whole lives trying to implement that oppression and tyranny here in America. The Utopia of Equality - oppression under Communism.
While we were all busy living our lives thinking “live and let live” over the past 40-50-60 years these people have been busy infiltrating our schools, our educational system, and our Government systems at all levels. Every Government agency known, And that also includes our News media and entertainment industries.
The result is that today we have this rouge bunch of Communist killers trying to Transform America into some kind of Communist shit-hole where NO-ONE will ever have to opportunity to make their own decisions. No One will ever have the life of freedom and liberty guaranteed under our United States Constitution. And our Government officials happily oblige them.
Throughout all of human history there have been only a scarce 5% of humanity who have ever lived as freed men and women. America is truly an extraordinary place.
A FREE America stands as the defender of all freedom loving nations on Earth today. Without a FREE and strong America all other nations in the Western free world will fall under the assault of this Communist aggression.
My question is, What kind of world will we leave for our children and Grand-children?
Will we leave them a world where they are free to make their own decisions, free to live their lives as they choose? Will they be free to grow and prosper?
Or will we leave them to suffer under the oppression and tyranny of overlords and brutal dictatorship? Will they even be allowed to live at all? And who will be making those decisions?
The time to decide once again is here and now. Some things in this life are worth fighting for, some are worth dying for. As far as I am concerned that’s the biggest NO-Brainer question in human history.
Enjoy that good-old Classic Country music while you can, and you better cherish your freedoms while you still have them.
Hello. You write that the Second World War ended in 1947. But this is not true. On September 2, 1945, the Japan Unconditional Surrender Act was signed aboard the American battleship Missouri, which entered Tokyo Bay. The end date of World War II was officially accepted on September 2-3, 1945. One of my grandfather's medals for the victory over Germany is May 9, 1945, and the medal for the victory over Japan on September 3, 1945. We must adhere to exact dates. We are decent and decent people. Otherwise, our opinion will only be a hoax and misinformation, as our enemies want. I have the honor! Regards, Eugene.
Yes, You are correct. WWII ended in 1945. But the earliest time that I remember was 1947, which was shortly after the war ended..... (2 years). My earliest memories are ('47), the reason I wrote it like that.
