Constitutional Emergency

Virginia Public Camp Grounds

Commonwealth Patriot

Here are my picks on camping while attending OAS. I like Virginia because it is a safer, cleaner and friendlier than Maryland, DC does not offer camping. I have camped at all these places and can vouch for their great offerings.

All spots are within a 30 minute drive to DC, closer to metro which I suggest strongly taking. Traffic in the DMV (District/Maryland/Virginia) is very bad and if you've never been here for our traffic, it will delay you by quite some time. It's not just traffic, but our system of highways is very confusing.

There may be more camp sites, but these are my picks offering a great stay here in the DMV. Please reserve now, they will fill up!

I would also suggest a list of campsites within 100 miles of Washington DC as the campsites listed will fill up quick, excluding Maryland, as like Commonwealth Patriot said, Maryland is not a very friendly state when it comes to Patriots, as we learned last September.

Also, if anyone has private property within 100 miles of Washington DC and they would be willing to allow people to camp there, that would also be good.

Any other suggestions?

I have plenty but 100 miles from DC? Have you seen our traffic? You'll have to travel back and forth daily

If you really want camping further out, I will put up a list, but do not recommend it.

100 miles out was just a suggestion, but can the close in campgrounds handle millions of campers?

I have saw the traffic there, lived there in the 70, and have been back there a few times, last September being my last trip.  It's going to be a traffic nightmare no matter how it goes.

I have got a place for me and my group to stay about 5 miles out of the city. I plan to take 2 or 3 days worth of food & water when I go as it may be easier to find a nice grassy spot to spend the night in the city rather than try to travel back and forth. If need be I can walk out of the city.

Many will travel back and forth daily, but that will definitely be a nightmare! I was thinking along the lines of people spending 2 or 3 days at a time in the city before going back to their HQ to re-supply, thus a campground up to 100 miles out would not be out of the question. Just looking to make the traffic madness easier, with more options for the Patriots.
