This email was received from the organizer of my local 912 Project and since have gotten several phone calls from several other leaders involved within the Conservative Movement regarding this very email.   Apparently
Michael Steele had a conversation with someone within the Movement and
informed them that they needed to find a way to get a real database of the
Movement from many key states.  He claimed that they do not have enough information with the database of the various groups….he required more detailed information.  Florida, my state is one that this email is now flying around in.  What the email asks for is to have people sign a petition to be taken to Steele that states how firm we are on our stands on key issues so when he meets with Obama next week he will be “aware” of how we feel.   When you enter the site on line where the petition is located it requires your name, email address (and it asks you to confirm it again) and your zip code.  Then, if you do not click the box, it posts your  name on some site
supposedly and it does ask your permission but it automatically is defaulted to “Yes”.  When you hit yes (I registered as Joe the Plumber), it then confirms you successfully submitted your petition but that you would be
sent a confirmation email and until you confirmed back, the process would not be complete.  That effectively provides Steele with not just a database
but one that is 100% verified and can be broken out by precinct (zip code).

Sadly, as of this writing he has managed to build his database by over 80,000 and climbing.  This is not a legitimate petition and they openly admitted that in the conversation that one of these individuals I spoke
with was in.  They knew that the people in the movement at the local level
would sign this if they received it from within their home groups.  It gets
sent directly from their organizer and through those higher in the movement (Shirley Wood, below, who originated this email is the leader of the local Pinecrest 912 Project) and she got it from Sharon Calvert who is the next level up with the Tampa Tea Party.  You will note that Jenny Beth Martin and Amy Kremer are also on this email interesting enough.    Also you will note that Amy Kremer is on the actual email and the address and phone number to respond for this new Alliance (which I checked myself was formed on the 18th of last month in Marrietta, Georgia and  somehow affiliated with Tea Party Patriots and Jenny Beth Martin).  There is also a Facebook site for this and it is in the name of Southern Belle….which is Jenny Beth’s favorite “handle” on line.  So, I am not sure exactly how
Jenny Beth and Amy Kremer are even on the same endeavor given all the
legal conflict they are embroiled in but I do recommend that no matter what the reason for sending this out may have been…in end, it is not a valid petition and there is no reason to give out your information to anyone in this format.

You have all seen legitimate means of signing petitions on line through
organizations like Grassfire, Resistnet and Freedomworks.  This is just
designed to build a database for the GOP.

I highly recommend that you warn your members if you get this and decide to forward it onto your various organizations under you.  They can provide their info if they want but please at least educate them on what is a real petition so should they decide to provide that info it is done through a truly informed decision.

Please read the email below and click on the link and you will see that this is just a ruse and should not be forwarded without warning the recipients of exactly what it is.

Thanks.

  • I fear a 3rd party more than the GOP. The GOP just needs tea party members to RUN it !!!
    • I'm in total Agreement Axe!
A 3rd party would be disaster!
The GOP has become a party of RINOs!
Just look at Steele! He's one of them!
He has to go as well Twana!

We need to move the GOP wayyyyy over to the right!
Tea Party folks running the GOP would be a very good start!
      Max
  • There are many groups and organizations that are currently trying to hi-jack the Tea Parties. The Crazy Truther Movements are without a "Daddy" Even though these truthers crazies, will say anything to get into our midst, talk with them a second, and it will become obvious that they don't share conservative values.ie;Rats fleeing their sinking ships.
  • I agree with Axe, we need to run the Republican Party like we did with the Reagan years and for a short time in the early 90's. The simple fact is that there are so many webbased groups like this out there, and most list names and towns it is pretty easy to put people to work on specific States, or even regions and come up with some real good data bases.

I would suggest however that we not make it any easier on them and not sign that petition! Liberty Council, Freedom Works, etc have huge data bases already because we gave them that information through signing all those petitions. Let's make and sign our own petitions!

(And remember, I am running as a Republican here in Michigan, and I still say you need to FORCE the Republican Party to come to OUR table)
    • Good Words Robert.
  • I was present at the meeting with the 30 other grassroots leaders and there was no conversation in the "open" where Michael Steele asked for such information. Nor did he elude to that fact. There may have been discussions on the side, "of which I am not aware", but the meeting was extremely straight forward. As a matter of fact, we declared that we do not want a third party and any hi-jacking of the movement. We asked him to remove all references to the tea party movement on websites, logos and the like from any GOP sites or material. And they did that night. Overall the meeting was productive. He addressed all 50 leaders individually as we gave our grievances, concerns and demands. It was an open discussion, possibly a warning that "we are the party of Hell No, and Not just No." Mr. Steele stated that the "GOP does not know what to do with us, or how to deal with us". If anyone wants to talk further about the meeting, I would be happy to elaborate. In the interim, I will look at your referenced petitions. Army Girl
    • I find it somewhat disconcerting, though not surprising, that Steele would state that the "GOP does not know what to do with us or how to deal with us." To state this is to admit that just like the Democrats, the GOP still doesn't get it!

This isn't rocket science we're talking here. It's simple common sense!

What is so difficult to understand about less spending, reducing government's size, reducing government interference in our lives, less taxation. less entitlement programs, zero tolerance on illegal immigration, a strong national defense, American SOVEREIGNTY,personal responsibility and accountability, returning to the basics in education, the elimination of the PC insanity that caused our soldiers at FT Hood to be murdered and will be the cause of more terrorist bloodshed among our people, meaningful lobbyist reform legislation, and most importantly, preserving, defending and adhering to the laws and granting the unalienable rights of our Constitution.

The GOP doesn't know how to deal with us? The GOP shouldn't have to worry about how to deal with us or what to do with us IF the GOP rediscovered our nation's roots and began to fight for traditional American ideals that the Tea Party movement and Patriots For America, the Freedom Works Foundation and all other conservative groups and organizations are fighting for.

Like I said, it isn't rocket science and We The People have been quite honest and quite vocal in our anger and our demands. If they still don't get it then I have to question whether they ever will. Are they so far gone or so isolated, or so compromised by big money that even they can no longer see the forest for the trees? If that is the case then We The People need the GOP about as much as we need the Democrats. Which is to say, we don't!

I don't know how many are aware of this, but a few months ago, Rasmussen did a poll on the popularity of the 2 parties, but they also threw in a little twist. They added the Tea Party movement to the poll as well. The Tea Party movement has been in existence for less than a year and yet, among the two other parties, the Tea Party movement took 23% of the respondent's votes. In that same poll, Republicans led Democrats by nine points.

Think about that. The Tea Party movement which has been in existence for less than a year garnered a 23% positive vote in a three-way run off. Who says we can't run our own candidates? Who says we can't become an alternative party to the two party system that has corrupted and ruined our nation? We are picking up new members all the time and converting many American moderate Democrats as well. We are growing exponentially and the further down the rabbit hole the crooks in Washington and in local governments take our nation, the more Americans will join us and the more powerful our voices and our clout becomes.

Who the hell does the GOP think it is that it should wonder "what to do with us?" The GOP, in all it's arrogance, will not do anything with us. It will be We The People who will decide what to do with them as well as their Socialist Democratic counterparts.

If I sound angry it's because I am. I'm fed up, I'm pissed off and I-have-had-it with both parties. I don't give a damn about either party. I care about my country. I care about saving the Republic and I care about defending and preserving our Constitution, our liberty and our freedom, and I WILL NOT compromise those principles for any party!
  • Thanks for the heads-up Twana,

With your permission, I'd like to repost this on Tea Party Nation's site.

    • Hello. J. I was in DC last year with Twana and will be there again this year. Don't really know who you are but I am sure she knows who you are and you need to be a "speaker" at DC and I will feel very privileged to know you more. Sounds like you certainly can get your point across. I also am fed up with both parties and brought this up at the Republican Club I belong to last week at our monthly meeting. I did not think my message would be well received with all the blue and white haired lovely Republicans there until I finished my 10 minute "rant" but I got a standing ovation??? ( what ever that means) from them. Last month we had Lloyd Marcus there as he is a central florida native and a Sarah Palin "look-a-like" show up as guests. We are actively recruiting people from business and commerce to run for office. I AM SICK TO DEATH OF LAWYERS and the like trying to politicize our country ! If we don't get back to how this country used to be I say Heaven help us. Maybe, just maybe this is why Marco Rubio is in the lead now. We have had enough of Charlie Christ...trying to build a stupid train from Orlando to Tampa. LORD HELP US ALL! George Washington and Abe Lincoln and Ronald Reagan must be rolling in their graves. Thanks for letting me vent. Sandy S. and," I ain't signin no petition either!" If they want a database let them come to Washington next September!
      • Hi Sandy,
I was in DC at the 9-12 rally too. What an amazing event it was and I can't wait to go back again with twice the number of Americans this time. But I'm a bit confused. I thought the next big Tea Party rally in DC was to occur on April 15th? I've already purchased my airline tickets. However, lately I've been hearing about another rally in August?
