Biden's Border Crisis by the Numbers: October
This is from Texas Congressman Pete Sessions, 17th district.
President Biden’s border crisis continued in October as U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced on Monday that 164,303 illegal immigrants were apprehended attempting to cross our southern border—a 128% INCREASE from last October.
This is the HIGHEST number of apprehensions for October in recorded history. It is another month of data showing Democrats’ policies fail to be effective and have made our southern border less secure.
Biden Border Crisis Break Down:
- Over 1.6 million illegal immigrants have been apprehended at our southern border under the Biden administration.
- The number of illegal crossings at the border has risen at a faster rate under Biden than at any time in recent history.
- There were 899 pounds of fentanyl and 15,631 pounds of methamphetamine seized at the southern border in October.
- 17,126 illegal immigrants were released into the country by Border Patrol just in this past month.
Instead of addressing America’s border catastrophe, Democrats are attempting to ram through their big government socialist spending bill this week which incentivizes MORE illegal migration. The Build Back Better bill contains $100 billion for backdoor amnesty to give 5-year renewable visas to millions of individuals who are illegally living in our country. Specifically, $2.8 billion will be appropriated to process amnesty applications "efficiently." The legislation will also provide billions of dollars in taxpayer-funded benefits.
Border security is a matter of national security. Americans are feeling the consequences of borders that have been made into a welcome mat for illegal migrants. Texans are paying the freight to combat this issue at our southern border. President Biden has failed the rule of law and to do his job as Commander in Chief.
