Hello Madeleine.,,, Welcome to the PFA.
This is a short temporary message for some of our new members.
I see several new people have joined the PFA in the past few days. Welcome.
But I also see that these new members still haven't found their way around the site yet.
That's ok, it's a big web site with lots of stuff to discover.
One thing most new people don't see right away is the chat window at the bottom of the screen.
Take a look at the bottom right side of your screen, if you see a window with your name on it and a number in red, then chances are someone is trying to communicate with you right now.
Also, take a look at the top right side of the screen. You should find your name up there, and a small line named Inbox. That is a messaging center directly to you. Look for the small envelope next to the word Inbox.
Check to see if you have any private message from other members.

The chat window at the bottom of your screen will either have your name on it or perhaps My name with a number in red.
Click on that name at the bottom of the screen.
Well ok, Maybe I can get my message across from here.
PFA Administration has become aware that some new members are being approached by other new members and may be being asked to meet up for a personal level meeting. Or perhaps some new members might be asked to "donate" or send some cash or some sort of contribution for something. Don't do it.
PFA wants all new members to remember this is an open public forum. But we do NOT encourage members to arrange meetings with anyone that you do not know. Yes, PFA is about making new friends, and we do encourage people to create new groups, but we also want people to exercise some level of caution. Don't agree to meet up with someone that you haven't "learned" about over the course of a few months.
And do NOT agree to send anyone any money to "help" them out or some other private cause.
Yes, we want people to organize, create local groups, and learn to communicate with others. but we also ask that you exercise some caution.
Thanks everyone.
