Blaming our troops

Afghan security forces, our supposed allies, are slaughtering American troops. Thirty-three soldiers have been killed by “green on blue” attacks this year alone. The situation is so bad that the training of Afghan forces has been temporarily suspended.
How has the Pentagon responded?
By blaming our troops.
Top officials believe culturally offensive behavior is the motivation behind the killings, so it’s stepped up Islamic sensitivity training for our troops.
If you don’t want to be shot in the back by your Afghan training partners, the Pentagon advises, don’t offend their religious sensibilities. Don’t kick your feet up on a table, for instance, and never ask to see a picture of their wives and kids. “There’s a percentage [of attacks] which are cultural affronts,” Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Martin Dempsey said in a recent interview.
Dempsey echoes the concerns of Gen. Sher Mohammad Karimi, the Afghan National Army’s chief of staff, who earlier this month argued both sides need to do more to “teach” foreign troops Islamic traditions and values to reduce the chance of violent reactions to cultural slights.

“It is our duty to teach this to them. Our indifference about these issues causes the incident,” he said.
In the past three years, uniformed Afghans have murdered at least 97 US and NATO troops.
The Taliban has taken credit for many of the attacks, but the Pentagon has been reluctant to admit widespread infiltration of the Afghan security forces it’s training.
Standing up a national army and police force that can protect the US-sponsored government in Kabul is the linchpin of President Obama’s announced 2014 withdrawal strategy.
Some 120,000 American and other foreign troops mix closely with 350,000 Afghan security forces. Afghan trainees and guards are co-located on US bases, where they share bathrooms, gyms and mess halls.
To avoid offending them, US commanders are putting troops through intense Muslim sensitivity training. Among other things, they’ve been ordered to:
* Wear surgical gloves whenever handling a copy of the Koran.
* Never walk in front of a praying Muslim.
* Never show the bottom of boots while sitting or lying across from a Muslim, which in Islam is considered an insult.
* Never share photos of wives or daughters.
* Never smoke or eat in front of Muslims during the monthlong Ramadan fasting.
* Avoid winking, cursing or nose-blowing in the presence of Muslims — all viewed as insults in Islam.
* Avoid exiting the shower without a towel.
* Avoid offering and accepting things with the left hand, which in Islam is reserved for bodily hygiene and considered unclean.
Troops who violate the sensitivity rules face severe punishment.

I, too, was in-country (Hue) in 1968, but we didn't really care much about being "sensitive"; we were there to get a job done. Oh, we got memos from time to time, but they were mostly ignored or, at best, laughed at.
I wonder if these muzzie bastards understand that Americans find it offensive when their sons come home with their arms and legs blown off...
...If any group has a "right" to "blue-on-green" violence, it is our guys, not theirs. In a sane world our forces would be unleashed to wreak havoc upon that entire crappy part of the world instead of having to accommodate the enemy in their midst.
I am tired of the blame game. i am also tired of the Pentagon tieing the hands of the US Military.
I am so sick of the "surrender mentality" of those in government authority, it's meaningless to comment anymore. I don't use the word "leader" for any of the people in authority.....they are betrayers at best.

The problem is multiculturalism. The Civil Rights Act, the Affirmative Action garbage were but tools to destroy, steal our wealth in this country. Taking prayer out of the school, and public places was deadly. The list is long what the communists in our government have done. The muslim feels we've offended them.....they offend the U.S. all the time. Enough is enough. I'm tired of it.
A nation is defined by their culture, their language, their heritage, their FAITH. The U.S. was founded/created by the white European, rooted in the Judeo/Christian faith. God warned us NOT to allow immigration into our nation, from nations we have nothing in common, and will cause us turmoil. The communists in our government opened our gates to the world, to people we have nothing in common.
Bible prophesy is unfolding before our eyes. We will win in the end. Our nation must turn back to God's Word, laws, guidance, wisdom.

we need to bring them home asap
This is absolute insanity. During my years in the military I spent quite a bit of time studying muslims and if a simple old soldier like myself can understand the problem why can't both the civilian and military leadership understand. These people only respect one thing and that is power and the political will to use that power. It is my firm belief that we could change the situation over night. The first thing to do is to tell Karzai and his minions, in no uncertain terms, to go to hell and let them know that we will severely punish corruption. The second thing is to turn the troops loose and let the population know that we will treat them with velvet gloves but there is a mailed fist inside that glove. There is one other thing that probably should be done and that is for the military to tell the entire US state department to go p**s up a rope and watch it shrink. The state department is one of the worst enemies we have and has been for years.
I cannot believe that those folks in government cannot understand that Arabs are set on killing Americans, all Arabs. That is their life, period.

How strange is this? I wonder if their soldiers ever think are respect who we are and where we come from?

Having Muslims in political office or our Defense Department is totally insane. (This includes obama.) This is the same as if we had put Nazi's in our government offices during WWII. We have plenty of communists in office too for a long time and that is why we can't keep any top secret info from the Russians starting way back with development of the A Bomb. Bring our guys and gals home NOW.
