When the Obama/Reid/Pelosi axis of power was seemingly unstoppable, they placed numerous "self-funding provisions" in the so-called "Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act" to prevent exactly what the current, more balanced House of Representatives now wants to do - defund ObamaCare!
These deterrents to amendment are typical of the arrogant mindset that gave birth to ObamaCare in the first place - and reveal the "we know best and you can't stop us" attitude that led to Nancy Pelosi's famous statement, "You'll just have to pass the bill to find out what's in it."
As it turns out, there are a lot of booby traps and landmines in ObamaCare designed to stop all attempts to prevent its implementation!
Several Congressional leaders, including Representative Steve King (R-IA) and Representative Denny Rehberg (R-MT) have written amendments with the goal of defunding ObamaCare, but those "self-funding provisions" may derail King's attempts.

This week, the House is scheduled to vote on a Continuing Resolution (CR) Bill that would keep our federal government funded and running until September.
Representative King's amendment, attached to the CR bill, would in essence defund ObamaCare
totally and retroactively by eliminating entitlement spending and the self-funding authorizations. But House rules prohibit its attachment to the CR Bill unless a "waiver" is granted.
Last night, the House Rules Committee voted not to "stretch" the rules like the Democrats did in passing ObamaCare, and did not grant Congressman King's waiver.
King intends to present his amendment for a vote, but, without the Rules Committee waiver, it is
unlikely to be accepted.
Nonetheless, the battle is far from lost!
Representative Rehberg's amendment attacks the "discretionary" funding for ObamaCare but not
the entire overhaul because of the self-funding safeguards. Because it repeals only the discretionary funding, it CAN be attached to the CR Bill and will still defund a significant
part of ObamaCare's implementation.
++The vote on the CR Bill is expected this week. We must ensure that a defunding amendment is included in the vote!

++CBO: ObamaCare kills 800,000 jobs!
Just over a year ago, Nancy Pelosi was touting the job-creating wonders of ObamaCare...
"In its life, it [ObamaCare] will create 4 million jobs -- 400,000 jobs almost immediately..."
Just days ago, while Nancy Pelosi and her Leftist cohorts railed against efforts to repeal ObamaCare instead of creating jobs, the director of the Congressional Budget Office was testifying before the House Budget Committee that ObamaCare will kill about 800,000 American jobs over the next decade!
As you may recall, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) is a non-partisan independent arm of Congress that is without political affiliation. They are tasked to work with numbers and facts, not political "spin."
Yet, the CBO can only work with the integrity of numbers they are provided, as illustrated
by their original "cost-saving" analysis of ObamaCare as touted by Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid.
Now that the more accurate numbers are being analyzed...
ObamaCare will kill 800,000 American jobs over the next decade!
Along with many other estimates, this job-loss figure is more in line with the stark realities of what ObamaCare will do once it is fully implemented.
In my estimation, eliminating ObamaCare whether through legislation, through the courts, or through defunding its implementation - IS about jobs!
As I've said many times, ObamaCare promotes abortion, fosters healthcare rationing,
socializes yet another major industry, destroys private sector jobs, and will further weaken
our already faltering economy!
