An open letter to the Obama Administration OR I AM THEREFORE AMAZED....

I AM THEREFORE AMAZED by your deliberate tarnishing of this image with your unequivocal and total backing of the fascist regime of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt who were overthrown by the popular uprising of 30 million Egyptians who on June 30th/2013 , July 3rd/2013 took to the streets against the despotic and fascist rule of Mohamed Morsi and his gang .
The Muslim Brotherhood (which is a secret religious society and not a political party with branches in 78 countries ) have proven time and again that they are hand in glove with Alqaeda (which is the avowed enemy of the United States) . If your Administration and your secret service agencies do not know this , then heaven help America ! It is as if Franklin Roosevelt during WW ll had given his total support to Adolf Hitler , while at the same time fighting Nazi Germany to the death !
Egypt , a nation that has 7000 years of history behind it , has had its moments of supreme glory , ruling vast portions of the (then) known world and creating an empire that lasted for almost 5000 years , however in the words of your great writer William Faulkner : “The past is not dead. In fact, it's not even past.” , words that still ring true today as my ancestors created culture and learning which are still astounding the world even today .
I AM THEREFORE AMAZED by your insistence at treating Egypt as yet another Banana Republic (not that I approve of your treatment of Banana Republics) and your clumsy attempts to implement the proverbial "carrot and stick" tactics that are achieving exactly the opposite of the desired result . The carrot is a (very few) hundreds of millions of dollars in military aid (exclusively American equipment , training and spares) - the stick is withholding this aid until Egypt toes the line by including the Muslim Brotherhood in power . How utterly gauche !
Apart from the fact that this aid is part and package of the Camp David peace treaty with Israel , which you are thereby jeopardising , but you are also seriously alienating a strategic ally (Egypt, which happens to be the most populous nation of the Middle East , leader of the Arab world ,with the biggest and best trained army).
The laws in Egypt concerning the formation of political parties have little changed in the past 100 years (and are almost identical to the ones in effect in Europe and the US) and ANYONE can form a political party provided it is not based on religion and subject to government scrutiny of their finances and activities .No one is against that the members of the Muslim Brotherhood as individuals (the ones not accused of criminal activities), form a political (not religious) party , formally renounce all forms of violence , sever all ties with its 77 other branches and comply with the law governing the formation of political parties . Compliance to these conditions have been adamantly refused by the Muslim Brotherhood for the past 85 years .
I don't think that this is an unreasonable request , do you ?
Finally I suggest you read the words of your great poet Ralph Waldo Emerson in his poem
"A NATIONS' STRENGTH":
Not gold , but only men can make ,
A people great and strong ,
Men who for truth and honour's sake
Stand fast and suffer long
Or did truth and honour have a different meaning then ?
