Subject: The BorderTish,My Son-in-law came back today. After he got some well earned sleep he came over to the house to give us the low-down on what's happening on our southern border, or at least from his perspective.When he got to TX things were confusing for the first day or two because the group he was going to link-up with had decided to go to Arizona and he was pretty PO'd. He found a loosely organized group of Ranchers that had property on the border and went with them. Lucky for him, he hooked-up with a rancher that would provide one home-cooked meal a day and a place to sleep. He spent 12-14 hours a day and a little under 9 days sitting in a Deer Stand with a walkie-talkie. He estimates that he called-in over 180 illegal crossings in that time. He also estimated that it represented over 1,000 people. The surprising thing was that very few of them were minors. The Rancher he was working with said that more than likely the reason was that the minors freely handed themselves over to Border Patrol and kept the BP busy. While the BP was busy with kids, the Coyotes would use those times to bypass detection by the BP. Pretty smart on their part, but bad for us.Anyway, he would call the sightings to the Rancher and he had direct communications with BP so he would pass-on the info. My Son-in-law came back because he was wasting his time. Over a meal the Rancher told him that the BP hadn't followed-up on ANY of the sightings he called-in. That's when he threw his hands-up and said he was wasting time and needed to come back home to his family. One funny thing he did while down there.... He would alternate his times arriving to his tree-stand so nobody would know exactly when he would be watching. That meant that there were many times that he was in the stand at night. He brought night-vision goggles with him so he could detect the small groups of illegals coming his way even after sundown. The first night was he was very nervous because of not knowing the unknown, but after that he was Ok with it. Well, he would carry a small rucksack with him and fill it full of rocks and then haul it up to the tree-stand. After it got dark he would wait until he could either see or hear them coming his way. When they got fairly close he would throw a rock as far as he could behind them somewhere and they would all get nervous and scatter. He even had one female run right under his tree-stand not even knowing he was there.Other than that he said that it will take a lot of dedicated people to make a difference, and even then, our own damn government has to get behind the effort.With obama at the helm we know that's not gonna happen!May God take pity on us and send obama to his just reward...
