As a grassroots movement, Patriots for America has tremendous resources. As an organization that can work to implement policy, it has virtually none. When we consider how the enthusiasm, willingness, passion and righteous anger of our many members can be focused to accomplish meaningful and lasting change in our nation's political structure, we must consider several critical points:1. Creating a new party is a long, difficult process. Not only can it be very contentious, but it is expensive as well. Once the arduous process of determining an agreeable platform is accomplished, the issues of public relations and ballot access are both lengthy and costly. We cannot wait for this process to unfold. We need swift action -- within the next election cycle.2. Grassroots movements can and have been successfully hijacked by the dominant parties. The best way to prevent this is to associate one's movement with a well-established Party with whose message the movement aligns.3. Currently, the Libertarian Party is well established, widely recognized and is unsullied by blame for the current state of affairs.The Libertarian Party has spent over 30 years establishing itself as the sole representative of personal freedom, sound monetary policy, small government and a non-interventionist foreign policy.
